Good music, safe, not loud, no drunk kids, great bar tenders. Little away from Purdue campus but for the price it’s totally worth it. I would go back again

My favorite place in Lafayette! Probably the best «bar food» I’ve ever had — it all tastes fresh, and it’s done right. Just a great, down-​home, Indiana menu. The bartender and waitstaff know us and treat us well. They make fun of me for always ordering the broccoli. ;) (but seriously, they even have good broccoli) The drinks are stiff, the clientele and employees are warm and down to earth, the food is great. Keep it up, guys!

I absolutely love this bar! Always great people and lively atmosphere. Very low employee turnover, so everyone learns your name and your regular orders. I go often, and I’ve never had a bad time. Rather I want a meal, beer, mixed drink or a shot, I know I can’t go wrong here. If you want to have a great time, go to the Checkerboard!
