Elite Event: Healthy Happy Hour at The Dailey Method

A Unilocal event that involves exercise and doesn’t include an alcoholic beverage???
That may sound crazy, but I must say this had to be one of my favorite Unilocal events I’ve ever attended. I normally don’t do the Dailey Method (or stretchy exercises ever haha) so I didn’t really know what to expect at this event. It also didn’t help that I’ve been out of shape lately. After attending this event, I have a newfound respect for these kinds of workouts.
The Dailey Method may look easy from the outside but really hurts on the inside! I felt pain in parts of my body I didn’t even know about. The entire session took about an hour but was definitely worth it. These exercises work on toning different sections of the body and you could really feel that burn! I felt sore but I was happy to get a great workout on an early Sunday afternoon.
After our exercises, we were treated to a nice helping of nice, healthy food. Everything I ate and drank was pretty delicious but my favorite would have to be Quinoa Salad. I’ve never had quinoa before but after eating the salad, I might become its new fan!
I really liked this event. It was fun, different, and I got some much needed exercise (I was actually sweating!). Thanks again to Nique, Unilocal Eastbay, and the ladies at the Dailey Method for making this happen. I had a blast and wouldn’t mind attending another YEE that involves exercise!

Having done one Dailey Method class a year ago, I had an idea of what to expect at this event. I didn’t know how to describe it to my husband, who would be experiencing this working for his first time, so I just let him go in with no expectations. He and I gave it our best and held positions until our muscles started shaking; at which point we’d either let them rest, or see the other person struggling and attempt to coyly knock them off balance. (Hey, all in fun!) We had a great time and I ended up being the more-​sore one out of the two of us for the next couple of days.
While a nice, solid workout is a reward in it’s own way, the real reward was the second half of this Unilocal event. We were treated to a healthy happy hour, which included samples of amazing daymi drinks. I was disappointed they didn’t have any samples for sale (I guess that would defeat the point) — I wanted to take home the green drink and the chai milk. Instead, I find myself searching for the nearest retailer. The pumpkin soup was also terrific and smelled like healthy. :) Yes, healthy smell, my favorite.
All in all, really glad we didn’t miss this event. We left with a positive feeling of accomplishment and wholeness. We were able to do (most of) the exercises without struggling too much. And we had fun. The group was great and the instructors were encouraging. What more can you ask for?! (Answer: pumpkin soup and green juice). Check!

One of my favorite Unilocal events yet!
I’ve been wanting to try out The Dailey Method for a while now so I was very excited when I found out Unilocal was going to be doing an event here! Christine was a very motivating, knowledgeable, and upbeat instructor who made the class all the more fun.
The exercises and stretches in the class worked my entire body and although it was very challenging, I enjoyed every minute of it! I’m still sore 2 days later! I love the concept and philosophy behind this type of exercise class and am looking forward to trying out more barre exercise classes in the future.
Another plus from the event were the awesome healthy snacks that were provided after the class. The quinoa was a creative and filling treat. Loved the pomegranate seeds! The pumpkin soup was warm and delicious. The juices were so refreshing! The vanilla chia cashew milk was my favorite.
So glad I went to this event!

I know I say this every single time, but this time for real.
What’s not to like about a kick-​butt (literally) workout and healthy treats?
I walked out of there feeling so energized. Amazing!

I have always been curious about The Dailey Method and was so excited when a Unilocal event was being held here! The space is very open and clean with a lot of natural lighting. The locker rooms/​shower/​restroom was clean and spacious. All of the equipment used during our work-​out were pretty new/​clean. I loved the orange mats because they were so soft, softer than what I can usually get at the store. Our instructor was Christine and she was very upbeat and friendly. She had a lot of energy and it made me want to push myself! I love her saying that «shaking is your body applauding you!» The low weight high reps definitely made me feel the BURN! It was definitely different from my usual workout, which was nice. It was awesome to try out a different method. Unfortunately, I’m not as sore as I thought I would be. That must mean my body wants more!
The appetizers and drinks at the end were just what I needed for an hour-​long work out. The pumpkin soup smelled so good and was so tasty! The little cups they came in were so cute. I loved the Daymi drinks, especially the one with milk but the green juice tasted a little bit healthier for my post-​work out stomach. Yum! Thank you Unilocal and Nique for setting this up! I had a great time and an awesome work out.

I’ve always wanted to try the Dailey Method. A friend of mine recently lost of ton of her pregnancy weight when she started going to these classes. If she can do it, anyone can. Thanks to Unilocal,I got my chance to check out one of these classes yesterday afternoon. Wendy (I think that’s her name) and Christine did an excellent job getting us in shape on Sunday. It’s a lot harder than you think — I’ve done yoga, zumba and kick boxing in the past and this was by far one of the most rigorous workouts I’ve had in a long time.
I realized I’m a lot stronger than I thought but I still have some work to do.
This year has been full of celebrations and fun but I’m looking to get back into shape. This event will hopefully keep me motivated.

I’m feeling the burn today but it’s a good sort of hurt. Y’all are amazing.
