Peter and the woman who owned magic cuts recently relocated here because great clips offered a higher lease than these two could afford. We have followed them here and they are just so nice and do a great cut. Highly recommend!

I had my hair cut by Julia (Yulia) at Elite on the 3322 Mt Diablo Bl location 2 months ago. Very sad to say, this is the worst haircut I’ve had in a long, long time. It is uneven all over my head and I have «holes» in my hair where sections were cut out. Both sides of my head are different and I’ve had a bear of a time trying to work around this so I can go out in public.
I saw this happening as she was cutting but Julia assured me it would be fine. She has an unusual way of cutting, which happens with dry, not wet hair. It felt like a razor cut although I didn’t think to be alarmed at the time. After leaving I thought I might just need to wash and style it myself, and let my hair settle down– wrong! The last couple of months I’ve used a plethora of products and tools to try and make it better and cover the gaps on my head. The stylist I went to this weekend to fix it gently asked if I knew how bad my haircut was. You know it’s bad when people who know you well comment on… um, your hair.
I’m rating this 2 stars because in Julia’s defense, she treated me and other people nicely. She is friendly and very talkative. The salon was fine too, a neighborhood place that’s not too fancy or pretentious.

The woman who runs the place (I can’t remember her name, she’s Russian) is incredibly talented, and incredibly fair ($). HIGHLY recommend her.
I’m super picky about getting my hair done, and I usually pay quite a lot for it, but being a broke college student, I couldn’t pass up this groupon I saw for a $ 25 for a cut AND color.
I made an appointment, went in, and told her what I wanted, which was full layering all around (I have a lot of hair) and to go a few shades blonder (highlights). Turns out what I wanted was worth quite a bit more than what the groupon was worth, (over 100 bucks regular price) but she said she would do it anyway and just charge me a bit more because it was a 4 hour job and she used REALLY nice highlight on my hair (not cheezy or yellow blonde, but a really gorgeous white blonde)
She listened well, knew what I was envisioning and made my hair look even better than I imagined it could look. And she had a great sense of humor, and she was so cute she even took a photo of my hair afterward!
I still get compliments on how great my hair cut and color looks, weeks later. And I didn’t pay an arm and a leg. Although I would have been happy to pay full price and plan to in the future, when I can afford it, she’s so worth it!

Someone gave me a little scratch off card and I won 15 dollars to go towards a service in this salon! :) I tried it out last week for a Brazilian waxing and I was surprised at how painless it was! I had my wax done with Galina and out of all the waxes I’ve had in my life, this was definitely the least painful of them all! The fee for the first Brazilian was reasonable, and when you come in for maintenance it is less expensive than the first visit.
They also use some great products here for facials that I’ve never seen before. I scheduled an appointment to have one done next week!
Overall, I really like this place. Everyone that works here is sooo friendly and no one there was snooty at all! They really know how to take care of you! Love it!

I was staying at Lafayette Park Hotel last weekend and this shop was right around the corner. I needed a place to take my cousin to get her haircut (she was going to look at colleges and wanted a nice cut). Not only is Julia a skilled hairstylist, she’s cracking up jokes the entire time! My cousin loved her hair, and received plently of compliments when we came home.
They also had an eyebrow threader here. I got my eyebrows threaded ($ 8) while she was getting her haircut. It was actually less painful than waxing, and lower than what I usually pay ($ 16). If my cousin ends up moving here, I will definitely be looking forward to seeing their eyebrow girl again.
