Good Samaritan Medical Center

Came in here my boyfriend is having emergency surgery. And no cafeteria is open and low and behold the tech recommends a subway in the hospital he guides us there very eagerly and in such a nice mannor. and finally we arrive the cashier is really in a hurry. but only with my young daughter. When it comes to myself and I’m the one paying she’s a little bit more patient. she greeted everyone else but my daughter and I I would not recommend. Her name is Courtney a night cashier straight thin blond hair. very rude

Went in for an out patient surgery in orthopedics. A nurse had called me several days prior to pre register and go over my instructions again so the check on surgery morning was super fast… Less than 5 minutes, the upstairs to surgery waiting. The staff kept in contact with my family, updating them of my progress each step of the way.
I was also very happy with the quality of care I received and all nurses were very patient and friendly. They also were happy to answer any questions I had and do what they could to ease my fears and make me comfortable. I was never rushed and left like I was their only patient.

Though physically quite nice and staffed with some good people, Good Samaritan is managed in a way that puts patient welfare far below the goal of its corporate parent: to keep you alive with no more effort or responsiveness than the minimum legal requirement.
I should have known when they wheeled me into the ER. But I was unconscious after a near-​fatal crash. I didn’t see how they tried to divert me off to a distant welfare hospital just because they couldn’t find my insurance card. Only a quick-​thinking paramedic gave them the auto insurance card instead — no end of headache to clear up later, but it got me into an ER.
That’s when it started, the Exempla bare-​bones standard of care. Among other injuries I’d hit the pavement so hard with my face that it knocked out a bunch of teeth,. Does this mean they signed up a neurologist? No.
So it went throughout my stay. The anesthesiologist promised to put in a catheter during my surgery, but did not. The staff hardly did a damned thing to see to my comfort thru multiple surgeries, saying ‘see your doctor’ — except I didn’t have one up there. The facial surgeon was super. But she was there only for my surgery itself.

Excellent service! I was hit by a car on my bike and they took very good care of me. They were very professional and so sweet. I ended up going back because I was a little worried about an infection in some of the road rash. The PA (Julie Jeary) recognized me and made sure I was taken care of efficiently.
If you have to spend time at an ER, Good Sam isn’t too terrible of a place to do it.

Went here instead of an urgent care facility due to the fact I thought I might have to be admitted.
And admitted I was, (went in about 3 — 4 ish) took 2 hrs to just get into a triage «chair» then in a couple more I was sent into a shared room, you know the one’s with the curtin.
THEN no B.S., the billing lady comes in to get my information AND co-​pay.
Finally got to a room about 11 that night.
The nurses are great and rest of the staff is awesome, but the administration part upto and including the actual MD’S are amazingly invisible.
The worst part is trying to get out, once I was «OK’d» to be released it was literally over 6hrs. All I can suggest is unless it surgery or you really, really like hospitals, visit a different facility.

I recently had ACL replacement surgery at Good Sam. The hospital was very clean and inviting. The staff was friendly and efficient. I couldn’t have asked for a better outpatient experience.

My wife has had surgery here twice this year. She had her shoulder fixed in June and she had her wrist operated on just yesterday. Each time we had a great experience. We both found the staff to be professional, courteous, friendly and very upbeat. There were no unexpected long waits. The MAs, the nurses and the CNAs that helped my wife did a great job. They were very attentive and followed through on everything they said they would.
Maybe our experience is a little different because we are from Hawaii. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve always thought highly of the service at Kaiser Moanalua, the hospital where 4 of our children were born, but Good Samaritan was definitely a cut above.
For example, at Kaiser Moanalua, when they prep you for surgery you are waiting in a big open bay with curtains between the patients. My wife used to hate to hear everyone else’s conversations — especially if they were talking about food! You know, when you’ve been told not to eat anything for the last 12 hours or so, hearing about someone else’s lunch plans don’t make you any less hungry! Anyway, that’s not the case at Good Samaritan because you will find yourself waiting in a private room.
After my wife got to the room where she was being prepped we had nurses getting her ready and visits from the surgeon and the anesthesiologist. Everyone was awesome and helped to keep my wife’s spirits up.
When they wheeled her away, I went to wait in the beautiful surgery waiting area they have. This is a large room with very comfortable chairs, some tables and even a couple workstation areas in case you want to get some work done. Of course the hostpital provides free WiFi but, even better, they have free coffee and tea all day!
Because I knew I was going to be there all day, I went down to the cafeteria for food. Here, too, I found that they were a cut above. The Breakfast Burrito I had in the morning and the Black Angus Cheeseburger I had for lunch were both really delicious. What’s also nice is that, in addition to the cafeteria, they have a Subway Sandwich store in the hospital. So if you’re not interested in trying the cafeteria fare, at least you can get a decent sandwich very nearby.
After my wife got past her first phase of recovery, I was allowed to go in and sit with her. I found the nurses and other staff in recovery to be just as nice and just as professional as the ones that we met before surgery.
A final nice touch was that my wife was given a little present when we left. In it were some great little things to help her make it throught the first 24-​hours post-​surgery. Included were crackers, ginger candy, a mint, some mouth rinse, and a few other goodies. They also gave her a nice little card thanking her for allowing the to care for her. The card was signed by the members of the surgical team that had provided her care.
All-​in-​all, surgery at Good Samaritan was an excellent experience

My husband had a great experience with their doctors and the quality of medical care during an outpatient surgery. The administrative aspect and dealing with their financial department has been a nightmare. Due to a mistake by the CO health exchange our insurance wasn’t squared away and we were listed as self-​payer in their system (and are even now, though it is now taken care of and they have billed our insurance for the majority of the cost). Apparently self-​payers are the bottom dwellers of society, because unlike every business, self-​payers get 3 weeks to pay their bills (no extension possible), which are accompanied by constant phone calls as reminders to pay. The «Good Samaritan» hospital doesn’t have exactly have good samaritan policies in place when it comes to getting their bills paid. Also, who charges $ 50 for an IV bag? Bottom line: excellent medical care, but definitely don’t go there if you don’t have insurance. They don’t seem to have any reservations about bankrupting you in the process.

So we have been here since 4 am waiting for my fiancée’s first grandson. We were waiting in an area near the room. Apparently this is a staging area with no signage. Now at 7:15 pm the wicked witch of the west was extremely rude to us and said she would be rude and tell us to move from the area. This should have been stated when we got here at 4 am. My opinion is these people are complete…, well I really can’t state it but I hope you get my jist.
My opinion is don’t have your baby here unless you want your family treated like dirt.

I have had back pain for weeks. I couldn’t move so I went to the er that took my insurance. I was pumped full of drugs that barely helped. Then I was told they would not give me am MRI because it was just back pain. They then have me prescriptions for more drugs that may me hobble may way through life but with no explanation as to why it’s happening. I am not old enough for this kind of back pain when I haven’t done anything more than my daily activities. I didn’t want drugs, I need answers. I will never return to this hospital. Then they called asking about my recent experience and when I called back on that same office they said they couldn’t identify me unless I was on the same phone. I was! Terrible experience and I’m still in a lot of pain. Awful.

Great staff, excellent facility. New and modern. Its a close ride from my house so its our go to location for healthcare. I’ve used them for a variety of things mostly imaging. I have done MRCP and CT/​Cat Scans here. The only reason I won’t give them a 5 rating is the staff struggles with IV’s. Watch out for the imaging tech who specializes in CT and cat scans who is really bad at IV’s I was black and Blue for a month.

ZERO stars! I called asking to talk to a nurse or MA for an idea if I should come in or not due to severe abdominal and back pain. The receptionist responded with, and I quote, «Uhh, we can’t give advice like that over the phone so…». The conversation, not a moment later, lead to me asking if anyone can give me advice to which she responded «No, no one here can give you that advice.» This is a hospital, right?

Last week someone very close to me was brought here for an emergency. I was called and asked to come in both to visit and to talk with a specialist to provide more information about the patient’s history. It was early morning and still dark but I did drive in from Boulder to Lafayette, to help and to be with the patient, who was sleeping when I got there.
I was impressed with the way the ER team here handled this emergency. It is not always easy for an ER in a hospital that does not have a Behavioral Health unit to deal with a bipolar patient in a state of hypomania. The team here had already been taking good care of the patient for several hours before I was asked to come in. She was calmed down and asleep. When she awoke she was oriented, recognized me, and said hello.
There have been other emergencies with her over the years and I considered this to be a reassuring and professionally handled ER experience.
I was not in the best of moods, and just about everyone in the ER that I interacted with was marvelous. So they evaluated the patient, fed her, made sure all her needs were met, and by late afternoon transferred her to an inpatient facility for further stabilization.
Whereas I do not entirely accept the psychiatric approach to mental illness, and do not trust or like the giant conglomerate many refer to as «Big Pharma», when bipolar people are in a state of hypomania they do need help to get out of that state. it can be very dangerous both for them and for others.
I am also grateful to my ex-​husband, who went to the place where she originally went for refuge and help, a church, and brought her to his house to try to help her, and then to Good Samaritan.

I recently had a medical emergency that required me to make another visit to this ER… The staff were very good this time, and they got me right in. Not once was I encountered with a condescending professional this time. I was a little concerned that I told them many times that I had a communicable illness (including pinkeye in both eyes and a nasty rash) and they didn’t seem very careful. Otherwise, I would’ve gone 5 stars.

My mother has a serious, life threatening condition, and this hospital «forgot» to give her vital medications for three days, even after she requested it repeatedly. They could have killed her.

I delivered my son here and am very happy with all aspects: nice delivery rooms, great nurses, amazing lactation consultants, and a really nice environment all around. Their pre-​natal classes are amazing, and if you have a chance to take Gail Anderson’s classes I’d highly recommend them. Not ready for another baby quite yet, but I’ll be back when I am. :-)

I have delivered two babies and taken multiple parenting classes here as well as had a few other out patient procedures. I can’t complain at all. The facilities are more than comfortable, well lit (sunny=happy), and the staff are amazing. The god options for non patients are good — healthy with lots I options, and the room service for patients is great. I strongly recommend this hospital.

My 93 year old Dad was taken here via ambulance, and they took extremely good care of him. I cannot say enough on how absolutely everyone here during his stay in the ER and the hospital for a few days, were just wonderful. The hospital itself is a beautiful facility. From the music playing in the rocks outside to the clear glass cafeteria. I have been in a few hospitals in the area, and have to say, I was impressed with the cleanliness here. I want to give a special thanks to Dr. Leah Fuchs for being so kind to my Dad, and for calling me late in the evening with his diagnosis. The nurses and aides were awesome too in the ER, intensive care, and Floor 4. Thank you!

Cafeteria as soon as you walk in. Good food, even a healthy choice menu. Not all the food is fried in fats and oils.
Smiling servers behind the line and organized well for quick service. Even fresh hot foods.
I would suggest the cafeteria for food in the area.

Gave me a spot to camp out for 2 days while Sara B attended a class.
