My wife and decided to have dinner at the last minute. They seated us in the outdoor area with no wait. I ordered the lobster fettuccine and my wife ordered the gnocchi. The lobster fettuccine was over cooked and very oily. The gnocchi was dry flavorless.

First time here and we loved it! Spent GALentines here and can’t wait to return! I ordered the sole. So yum. But the Brussel sprouts were the best way to start a meal! The décor was charming, but not as charming as our waitor, bus boys, and all other employees. One of laughed at everything I said. I felt loved! Can’t wait to bring the rest of the gang!

So disappointed. We came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Everything was amazing. Came back tonight for my birthday and had a totally different experience The schnitzel was floating on a layer of grease. Will have to reconsider coming back bummer

One of the better places in town. Cocktails are good. A solid 4 star place.

I believe that Metro Lafayette is a solid 3.5 stars. We came here the other night to meet couple friends for a get together. We decided to just share a bunch of the small plates. We started with 6 West Coast Oysters and 6 East Coast oysters. Both were equally fresh, slightly briny, and tasty. The west coast oysters were more meaty than the east coast ones. Next were the black and white truffle fries. You can’t go wrong! Great truffle flavor and the fries were cooked well. We also shared the Brussel Sprouts — flash fried, lemony, garlicky and good. The meatballs were ok. They were a little more on the dense side and not as flavorful as I would like. We also had the spring rolls which were fried and not greasy at all. May visit again for happy hour on a sunny afternoon, but not sure if I would go back for dinner.

Came back here with a guest yesterday and sat outside this time. I ordered their Maine Lobster BLT with Green Goddess dressed Cakebox bun & mixed green salad! It was very good, but a little pricey at just under $ 20.00 for the sandwich. Again, good service, casual suburban atmosphere, and parking was easy this afternoon. Very unhurried. Enjoyed it.

First time visiting this restaurant and on a Wednesday night. Food was bland and service super slow. Very descriptive menu but deceiving because food did not match. Very disappointed and for the price we could’ve gone somewhere else with better food(1515 in Walnut creek). Not coming back… save your money. No wonder most of the Unilocal photos were on drinks… lol

I joined my work ladies for a lovely lunch on Metro’s sunlit patio on a Wednesday afternoon, and had a great time! Though overall I wasn’t as dazzled as I’d hoped, I found it to be a charming and well appointed neighborhood restaurant with tasty food and reasonable prices, and their customer service was top notch! We made a reservation through Open Table, though for a weekday lunch it wasn’t needed as the restaurant is quite spacious. I didn’t get our server’s name but she took great care of us, with an extra classy touch of paying a little special attention to the two ladies in our group who were there to celebrate their birthdays. We started with the tuna poke and brussell sprouts — the sprouts especially were very tasty and savory! The poke was nice, light and fresh with a hint of spice, though I was a little disappointed that the avocado we paid extra for wasn’t presented very nicely, just a banged up avocado half flopped on the plate. For an upcharge, it would have been nice if it looked a little tidier. But the flavors were yummy! I opted for their Maine Lobster BLT sandwich and was very happy! Fresh and succulent lobster, generous pieces of properly cooked bacon(crispy, not floppy!), heirloom tomatoes and butter lettuce on a warm fresh toasted bun. The nature of the chunks of lobster made the sandwich difficult to eat, so I ditched the top bun and enjoyed it open faced — it tasted wonderful! After lunch, our birthday girls were treated to candle-topped profiterole desserts, and we all shared the lemon pudding cake with blueberries — what a fabulous dessert that was, I would return just for that! Light and summery and creamy, just exquisite! It’s nice to find a neighborhood restaurant that still manages to bring that real touch of elegance, and Metro does a wonderful job of that. I look forward to returning for dinner!

We were able to walk in and get a table for 8 around 6:30 or 7 on a Saturday, after a birthday activity for a friend nearby. We got a bottle of wine, several cocktails, and a bunch of appetizers and salads. It seemed like a good place to go and sit on the patio for drinks. The menu was basic, and everything tasted fine, but I only remember the brussel sprouts. They were good.

I always love a god prix fixe meal! Metro offers a prix fixe meal with a few different options so you don’t feel completely restricted. The food was full of flavor and the service was beyond good. The location is a plus, it’s right off of the freeway and the shopping center where it is located offers ample parking. They have a nice wine list as well as a bar area if you just want libations and a quick bite.

I wanted to like this place my wife had a great time at night here. Took my mother I law for her birthday brunch. Started off with the unprofessional crappily dressed greeter, most likely manager or owner. Who never stood up or really greated us. Then there waiter was okay but I suspect they were under staffed. Hey forgot about us gave us the wrong drinks etc etc. essentially I am never coming back not recommending this place to anyone. To add insult to injury they even charged for the bad drinks.

I went here a while back and was looking forward to treating my boyfriend and myself to a good dinner. It was really busy with high school kids celebrating graduation or something. So with that into consideration my service was pretty terrible and the food was underwhelming. I remember we ordered a scallop plate and steak and the steak was overcooked and the scallops were not that great for the price we were paying. I have not gone back since.

I wasn’t going to review. Even if service was atrocious last night. The waitress had just enough lovely personality that I was going to give a second chance. Then I saw the horrifying rebuttals from the owner to previous negative reviews. I’m so appalled by them that I will never return. Take a class on class, bro. Disgraceful.

I’ve gotta say that Metro actually exceeded my expectations because I asked a friend what she thought of the food and she said that it was just pricey for mediocre food. Honestly, when I heard that, I pretty much made up my mind and said I wasn’t going to eat at Metro; but then again her boss goes there every Friday or so for lunch. So, on one hand, my friend says it’s not great and then on the other hand, her boss goes there a lot. Tough decision… I decided to give it a try any way because I’ve driven by there so many times and have always been curious to know what the food is like. Plus, it was such a beautiful afternoon to dine outdoors with my son. We arrived around 3:45PM on a Thursday afternoon. The thermostat in my car reads 98 degrees so my son said he wanted to sit inside where the a/c is nice and cool. But since I’m the mom and I’m paying the bill, I get to decide and we’re sitting outside. Yes, I AM one of those moms! Our waitress, Donna, came out to greet us and brought us some iced water. We placed our orders and within minutes our food arrived at our table. Service was very attentive and quick. I love dining out during off hours because it’s not crowded and service tends to be better. My son had the ahi tuna poke, which we both thought was very flavorful. Even the crackers that accompanied the dish was good. Donna was very sweet to give us extra crackers because my son was worried that he wouldn’t get full off of the order. I ordered the crispy brussels sprouts. It was cooked to perfection, well-flavored with a hint of lime juice. You actually don’t even need the dip that comes with it, but I made use of it any way. We also split an order of black & white truffle fries. I couldn’t believe how they were able to cook the fries to a perfect crisp. It actually stayed crispy even though we left it sitting there for 15 minutes while we both enjoyed our dish. How is that possible? Most fries get soggy and dry within five minutes of just sitting out. Plus, the fact that we were sitting outside should’ve made the fries go stale even more quickly. I guess they just know how to make perfect fries. The food was tasty, but I do have to be honest that it was pretty pricey. I wouldn’t consider Metro to be fine dining so it’s hard to justify paying fine dining price for fries and appetizers. Although, I would say it’s definitely worth trying out and I will return for the food. Great spot to sit outside on a nice date, that’s for sure!

I’ve been here once, and I believe it was a Friday night, it was busy and we sat at the bar. The bartender made me an awesome drink, I asked him for a daiquiri that was not too sweet, and he made me just that. We ordered two appetizers: the first was the brussels sprouts with the Arioli dipping sauce. I thought it was really good and I am not a huge fan of brussels sprouts. The other appetizer was the oysters. My only complaint about the oysters is that they’re only six– of course but that’s the normal amount I just always want more. It was delicious. Service was good, drinks were good, food was good, ambience was good. It was definitely loud.

«No one here cares how much you tip.» –Jack the Manager Um yeah Jack, tips actually matter to most servers since that’s how they earn their living. Unless they’ve just given up, of course. Which sadly seems to be the case at Metro. As for condemning drunk patrons, when I watch multiple wasted people reaching for car keys as they leave your restaurant putting others’ lives in jeopardy, my concern for political correctness goes out the window. But you’re right, next time, I’ll just call 911. Bad, overpriced food. Uninterested, unhappy wait staff. Obnoxious, drunk clientele. If you go, eyes wide open. Enjoy!

So I arrive to dine solo at the bar on a weeknight. There was one seat open at the bar but a woman had set her purse on the bar stool. I ask her if she is saving the seat for anyone. She looks at me and says no. I ask her if I could sit there. She looks at me as if I had just asked her to run around the block six times. Once the woman snatched her purse from the stool I sat down and dealt with a highly indifferent bartender. I had to ask for everything: drink, then menu, then to order food, then for water, etc. I grazed on some decent appetizers but got out of there to find a place with a better vibe. Not the best dining and bar experience that I have had.

I’ve been here multiple times now, and each time have been mostly satisfied with the quality. The food is always fresh and pretty tasty, however this last visit solidified metro as a 3 star restaurant so I finally decided to write a review. I couldn’t decide between 3 or 4 stars, but the portion size have continually been a bit small and there were some execution mishaps with the cooking. They were minor, but still brought the dish down enough. This past visit we ordered two appetizers to start: the asparagus and the Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were cooked beautifully, and the aoli they are served with balances the acidity of the lemon juice drizzle excellently; they were delicious. The asparagus themselves were also cooked very well, nice and tender but still enough firmness to keep it from adopting a mushy texture. However the poached egg on top was overdone and the yolk was completely solid which limited the ability to experience the dish as a whole(though the yolk & olive tapenade complemented each other well). I ordered the Hawaiian Ono as my entrée and it was a bit overcooked as well unfortunately. It was a little tough on the exterior, but the fish itself wasn’t too dry which is what I was afraid of. The potatoes it was served with were also a bit lacking in flavor and besides the subtle crunch for texture change they were meant to provide(which they did) did not add anything to the dish. I would still recommend Metro based on the overall quality of the food being good, however it is not the place to go if you are especially hungry as you will, no doubt, leave without fully satisfying your appetite.

Great service! Great food! They have indoor and outdoor seating, as well as outdoor seating that’s semi enclosed so you get the outdoor feel without the chill. Our group had the Brussels sprouts, yellowtail, Caesar salad, spring rolls, pasta, sole and the Mac cheese. Everything was amazing. You can’t go wrong at this place!

I am actually kind of angry with myself for not thinking to try Metro earlier on. I just saw the building and thought, «I’ll try it someday». The inside is beautiful and the music gives the restaurant a unique ambiance. I shared some food with my friends, we ordered oysters, the small plate of lamb meatballs and truffle fries. They were all great! As for drinks we ordered sangria and mojitos. Our server was super kind had no problem getting drinks for us that weren’t even listed on the menu. Definitely worth it, I’ll be back soon!
