I discovered Nails by Stephanie a couple years ago when I was searching for someone who does great shellac. I have thin nails and I needed someone who could do shellac which would last 2 – 3 weeks. Stephanie gives very personalized service and figured out just what my nails need to make them look good and last. Also she is very flexible when I need to make a change in my appointment time. I appreciate her professional service and warm, helpful personality!

I have been going to Stephanie for years and she is, by far, the best manicurist I have ever had. She is very friendly, experienced, and always does a great job! I get a Shellac manicure every two weeks and it is always perfect and lasts very well — no smudges or chipping. She gives me a regular pedicure every four to six weeks and they are perfection.
The shop is clean and cheerful with a friendly clientele.
If you want beautiful nails, Stephanie is the best!

Stephanie has been doing my nails for years! She’s not just an aesthetic professional, she’s an artist! I have been going to get my nails done by Stephanie on and off for over 15 years so I thought I would finally write a review. She is not only a great manicurist but she is also smart, funny and fun to talk to. Stephanie is also my go to person for anything that I need for «female beauty» products or advice — she has been in the Lamorinda area for a long time and knows all of the resources around here.
Stephanie is a perfectionist and great at her job. I highly recommend her.

It must be the worst manicure I ever had. My fingers are still sore since last Thursday. She cut my cuticles and made them bleed. She cut the side of my fingers. Why? I was coming for my nails, not my fingers.
The «Nail clinic» is old, 1960 style, wall to wall dirty rug, like being in your grand mother living room. All the stuff around Stephanie’s table is dirty and dusty. I am not sure she sanitized her tools, since I didn’t see her taking them out of of a sealed pouch. To top it off, she put 3 coats of nail polish, So. I now have e fatty nails. Never got a hand massage either. For the price she charges, I feel I got cheated.
They do the pedicure out of a foot bath that they clean with just spraying briefly a sanitizer and wiping, no scrubbing.
I will never go back and for sure will not recommend the place to anyone.

She’s quick, personable, and awesome at Shellac manicures. If you’re looking for a walk in spot… Keep walking. If you’d like to make an appointment for something that will last, something that is done the way it was meant to be done, then this is your lady.
TONS of colors to choose from, and keep in mind, this is no «quick shop» mani. Yes, she is efficient and my manicure took about an hour, but that is to be expected with a curing process. She makes sure your nails beds are prepped properly, and talks to you about anything and everything while you wait. She has her system down pact.
PLUS, she has a Unilocal deal. PLUS she rewards referrals.

I’ve had my nails done by different shops and by far this was my best experience ever! Stephanie greeted me with a smile and offered many different nail services to choose from. I chose the shellac and had over 5 dozen choices of colors! I chose a gorgeous deep blue. The shellac process took one hour including cuticles, filing, nail treatment, polishing and drying time. The high gloss is stunning! It was hard to believe that when I walked out my nails were totally dry. No mars on the way out, no chips! Three days later my nails look like I just walked out of the shop. I will never go back to a regular polish manicure and I will definitely ALWAYS return to Stephanie for more shellac nails. She gets my highest recommendation.

I started to see Stephanie off a LivingSocial deal for a Shellac service. I had had shellac before, but with Stephanie it seemed to last quite a bit longer! Not only is she friendly, hilarious, and an expert at her craft, she’s also willing to go above and beyond to meet the individual needs of her clients! As an educator I am always struggling with weak, brittle nails on my writing hand due to chalk dust, and Stephanie takes special care of my «Chalk fingers» at no additional cost.

Stephanie is amazing. Her salon is meticulously clean and she takes the time to explain the process of the shellac manicure, which is quite different from traditional manicures. I love that my nails don’t chip at all and I used to never make it more than a few days. she is also really pleasant and easy to talk to. I’ll be back.

Besides getting sn excellent manicure, when you go to Stephanie you will experience a charming and delightful professional who is meticulous in her work. The salon is lovely, relaxing, and a delight. This is a wonderful resource for pampering ourselves!

Was here a few months ago, and am finally posting my review.
Yes, you get what you pay for here.
This was not a relaxing manicure, but a very stressful polish change with a shellac finish. No cuticle soaks, no lotion on hands, no hand/​lower arm massage. And watch out for a woman in a big hurry with sharp instruments in her hands!
Stephanie, the «Shellac Queen,» is a smart and chatty woman, but seems to be operating on a high-​volume basis (using Groupon-​type deals to generate interest). Buyer beware!

Took a risk and made my first shellac appointment with Stephanie to do my nails for my wedding. I was so happy with the results & will definitely be going back. This was my first time using shellac polish, and I’m hooked, I will never go back to regular polish.
I got my nails done 2.5 weeks ago and there is still no chipping (and I’m mom of 4yr old). I’ve gotten lots of compliments on my nails while doing errands.
Appointments only & bring cash. The location is a bit hard to find, looks like a business office, but it’s downstairs.

Went because I had a livingsocial and I am so happy I did. Stephanie is amazing!!! The second I sat down it was like we were old friends. She did a much better job than anywhere else I have been to, was super friendly and easy to talk to, plus her prices are comparable to any other salon. It looks like I have acrylics on without the hassle and damage. I could seriously be a hand model now with her workmanship. I am going to recommend her to all of my friends and will be back! Now I just need to stop staring at my gorgeous nails!

Okay, short and sweet, this is THE place to go for shellac.
1.) Stephanie is AMAZEBALLS, she is adorable and personable and I’ve never enjoyed sitting face-​to-​face with someone for an hour while getting a manicure as much as I do with Stephanie. She is delightful.
2.) My nails are HAPPY. I was *SO* concerned that after a shellac my nails would be destroyed like after acrylics. NOT. THE. CASE. I figured I’d be the exception, my nails are usually sensitive to product. Well, after the first shellac was removed (2.5 weeks later) my nails were longer and STRONGER and healthier than ever! Stephanie makes sure to douse them in hydrating oil after soaking off the shellac (most GENTLE removal process EVER). I was so happy! I couldn’t believe how good my natural nails looked. They had been able to grow *protected* by the shellac and were just as thick and strong as they were before!
3.) I just need to say… I use my hands at work, I’m a cashier. I’m also a self-​professed manicure chipper. I do yoga, I cook a LOT, I dig around in my purse more than most, I swim, I regularly visit the spa, and I rock climb. My nails are perfect. Seriously. Even after I stopped making the unconscious effort one makes after getting a manicure (we can’t help it, the «fingertip» grab we all do after getting our nails done is NOT necessary after Stephanie’s shellac).
4.) Back to the rock climbing… seriously…I climbed today and said to my partner, «Bye bye, manicure!» I was so prepared to have to go in and have Stephanie fix them after all the scraping, gripping and impact my nails would take during rock climbing and bouldering. I could NOT believe it as we walked out after 3 hours or scaling rock walls that my nails are, wait for it, STILL PERFECT. Not kidding. The fact that this is durable *AND* my natural nails underneath are perfection after removal is INCREDIBLE! And I’ve seen the nails of others after a shellac removal — not only have I heard of their mani chipping after 5 days but I’ve seen severely dehydrated nails that you WON’T get after a treatment by Stephanie. Again, she hydrates before and after and gives you instructions on how important hydrating the nail is!
5.) Bottom line, The Shellac Queen is the place to go. Do it :)

I have been going to Stephanie for years and I am now addicted to her shellac maniures. They last for so much longer than any manicure I have ever had. I know that it is not just the product, on occasion I have gone to a chain salon and the shellac doesn’t last half as long. Stephanie executes her work so perfectly. No wonder she is also such an incredible artist.

I recently went to Stephanie to have my nails done. She recommended I try the new product «Shelac». I was so happy I did. I needed my nails to look perfect for my wedding in the Islands and not worry about chipping for the two weeks we were there. Wow. I have never had my nails last so long, 2 weeks! And another plus was it didn’t damage my nails, like acrylic does. Her salon is clean, tasefully decorated and comfortable. Stephanie is meticulous and takes her time… great experience! :)
