Shimmy Dreams Belly Dance offers fun Ladies Night out Evenings as well. We are located in Lafayette California, which is between Berkeley and Walnut Creek in the East Bay of San Francisco.

Established in 2012.
Shimmy Dreams Belly Dance Studio opened August 1, 2012. Owner/Director Samira Dawn has been a professional belly dancer and teacher for over 14 years. She was the co-director of Dansoleil Belly Dance in Brentwood Ca. from 2008 – 2010. Samira was offered a job as a belly dancer in Las Vegas at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino in 2002. She has performed regularly at over 8 different restaurants and numerous special events in the bay area over the last 14 years. She is a fitness professional with 7 exercise certifications and teaches at 4 gyms in the east bay.
Samira Dawn’s vision is to help women get fit, feel confident, build self esteem and to help them discover their inner and outer beauty through belly dance.

Business Owner
Samira Dawn is a belly dance and fitness enthusiast with 14 years of performance and teaching experience.
Samira aka: «Dawn Morrison» began dance, music and synchronized swimming at a young age. Dawn earned a spot as a member of the U.S. National Synchronized Swimming Team in 1996 – 1998 and represented the U.S. overseas in numerous competitions.
After retiring from synchronized swimming she saw a group of belly dancers in a night club and was mesmerized by how unique and yet confident each one was. Dawn was overjoyed to find a beautiful dance form that was accessible to women of every age, size, shape & fitness level.
After a year of taking private lessons from Master Belly Dance Instructor Najia Marlis she began performing at restaurants and private events around the bay area. For 14 years she has continued to both study and teach the art of belly dance.
She is known for her grace, elegance, and finger cymbal work, & creativity as a dancer and instructor
