St. Anselms Episcopal Church

We moved back to the area 4 years ago and took about a year to find St. Anselms. Fun, nice place with very genuine people and a good rector. Plenty going on if you want it and friendly people who are glad to help — or let you help. We have really found a home.
Try it – coffee hour is almost as good as the service. Bring your kids so people can dote on them.

I really like St. Anselm’s because it’s more like a community vs a church where you are lost in the crowd. Because it’s small, there are always opportunities to get involved — but if you would rather not, that’s totally ok too! The community aspect is truly amazing. The members are very kind, approachable, and so giving. As an active volunteer, I’ve witnessed so many random acts of kindness from members to each other I’ve stopped counting.
The members are a nice cross section of LaMorinda (seniors from Rossmor, families from the area, some singles). Members come with diverse backgrounds/​careers/​interests/​politics, but they are all so cool and genuine. is this what church coffee does to people?
I’ve been a member of St. Anselm’s for almost 15 years. I originally joined because I wanted my young sons to learn about religion and be comfortable in a religious community (very different from my Catholic school experience). My son’s are grown and yet I still continue to be a member.
John Sutton our Rector is the most down to earth, loving, kind, person one could ever wish for. His sermons are real and deals with our lives today. that’s because he is so connected with our community.
