Tempest Homes

I purchased my home from Tempest Homes in November of 2011. Working with Chris S. the sales associate was really great. He worked with me to get everything I wanted and was very easy to work with. I love the home and I feel like the construction part and efficiency of the house over all seems good.
However just hope that you never need any warranty work! It’s seems that once they got your money they are not as concerned about taking care of you. I had a couple situations that I really never got resolution on.
My garage door will stick to the floor in the summer and jerk real hard when it is opening. According to the company that came out this was happening because the builder paints the garages doors to match and when the sun bakes that paint in the summer it is hard to get it to break loose from the concrete causing a hard jerk and doing damage to the opener unit. After getting no satisfaction I was told to just get some high temp grease and keep it on the seals. I have to put grease on the rubber seals every so often to keep it opening smooth
I got tired of trying to deal with it and just let it go.
Secondly I had some A/​C issues this summer and the very RUDE lady from the company that installed the unit for Tempest would not do anything thing with out paying fees. Long story short three local A/​C companies told me that there was a very good chance installation error caused my issues.
Tempest did nothing to get this company to work with me. In fact Barney would not return and email or phone call.
2 years and six months after moving in about $ 1000 worth of work needed to be gone to get the a/​c to cool. — nobody wanted to do anything to help.
I was also up set to find out through another A/​C repair company that my A/​C unit comes with a 10 year parts warranty, IF YOU REGISTER YOUR UNIT WITH IN 90 DAYS OF THE HOME PURCHASE. Nobody from tempest Homes or Bowsher Heating & Cooling bothered to tell me this there for the parts warranty cuts in half. yes thats right you now get only 5 years on parts.
Who wouldnt take a couple minutes to register their until and double the parts warranty to 10 years… Would have been nice to have known this.
Anyway I would caution you if purchasing from this company becareful for any warranty work or lack of.
My home is in Brittany Chase, nice neighborhood to bad the customer service is not just as nice. It isn’t really that hard to return a phone call or email but this just leaves you with an impression that they don’t care!
