Took my mother’s watch in to replace the band. He swapped it out in less than 5 minutes for a very reasonable price. We discovered upon leaving that the new clip was a different color and returned to see if he could use the old clip with the new band. The guy took it back with no questions and switched the clip back to the old one in 3 minutes. Altogether not even 10 minutes spent in the shop, no wasted time. Very efficient, very pleasant disposition! Will come back for future jewelry repairs

Tran is a super nice guy and I will be back. Happy to give him my business. Not the place to buy new jewelry(not much selection) but perfect for repairs. Delighted to find someone to go to locally.

I have known Tran for 20 years. He is the best. Watch batteries, sizing rings, redesigning jewelry, repairing jewelry. He can do it all with a smile. Very reasonable prices. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Marian

took my engagement ring here for resizing. Despite me being extremely indecisive about the size and calling twice to change it, the owner was very understanding and helpful. The best thing is it was ready in TWODAYS, and cost less than anywhere else i had called. Highly Recommend.

Best jeweler I’ve found. He can fix or make anything. He made a custom wedding band for my wife. Excellent work, great prices, honest, hard-working little shop.

Great guy. He fixed my gold chain for the fraction of what I was quoted by other jeweler. I hope he doesn’t raise his prices after all these good reviews ;-) and by the way he did not ask me to write a review for him.

Met Tran through a friend. She has the most beautiful engagement ring that was custom made by Tran. Another friend had her diamond ring mounted by him, as well. Very honest, hard working person. I am ready to ask him to custom make my upgrade ring. He can custom make it or you can order from several catalogs he has.

I walked in on a Monday afternoon looking to have my watch battery swapped out for a new one. Tram, although he was working on Other pieces, took me right away. He made sure to inquire whether as to whether I would be swimming with the watch and let me know that if that was the case he would need to send it to his jewelry maker to be sealed with proper pressure. It took about five minutes and he was more than happy to let me watch, show me the process and point out the pieces inside the watch. He smiles the whole time and was extremely polite and professional. The best part was the $ 8 charge. Great prices and service. Will be back.

Had my wife’s watch band & mine adjusted and Tran did a wonderful job on both watches. He was very patient in making sure the adjustments were to our likings. His prices are very reasonable too even with putting in a new watch battery. He even checks the watch on some type of electronic device to be sure the watch is functioning properly with the installation of a new battery. He’ll be our go to jeweler for these kind of watch services.

The owner is kind and the prices are good. He fixed my watch battery at a fraction of the price I have paid elsewhere. I highly recommend him. He can also design jewelery if you have a photo or an idea of something you like.

Tran is amazing. He’s affordable, knowledgable, humble and just an overall nice guy! My partner and I recently got married and several months ago we brought our wedding bands to be resized to different Jeweler in Lafayette and it turned out horrible. They also had bad customer service and seemed to care less about our business and the quality of their work. When my partner showed me the rings I was pretty disappointed so I decided to look into another place that would hopefully fix my wedding band. I took it to Tran and he was so helpful and pleasant. He immediately put my worries to ease and said he’d take care of it — and within the week he gave me a call and my ring looked beautiful — it looked better than it had originally. Tran handles all his work with care — if you’re looking for the job to be done right and at an affordable price take it to Trans Jeweler.

Such a great guy. Exercises abundant caution if he thinks there is a risk in the repair, extremely reasonable prices and often does things while you wait. Absolutely top notch.

My Michelle watch’s battery died and they fixed it quickly and at an incredibly reasonable price; I thought the battery alone would be the cost of the entire transaction. I thought it was also a very classy touch that he re-set the date and time on the watch after putting in the new battery. He told me how long I should expect the new battery to last. I liked how thorough and quick he was.

A few years ago we found this small jewelry store, from which we purchased the occasional watchband or had small repairs done. I got to know Tran and admire him greatly. A year ago, we had him make my wedding ring, using mostly our own materials(family diamonds, gold from a bracelet I no longer wore.) The design was a collaborative process and he was happy to work that way, creating a wax model so we could see if the proposed design looked right. The result was nothing short of terrific; I get compliments on the ring all the time. I should add that Tran generously polishes it every few months for free. I heartily recommend Tran. He’s very quiet and a private person, but as you get to know him, you’ll find someone worthy of admiration and respect, in more ways than one. I also agree with the reviewer who said that he probably could charge more for the work he does. As someone noted, the jewelry in his store isn’t particularly impressive, but that’s because most of what he does is truly beautiful custom work. You won’t be disappointed!

I have known Dung Tran for many years, even before he opened his own shop and was working for a local Lafayette jewelry institution. Over the years he has designed and constructed stunning jewelery for my family, including a diamond necklace for my daughter that gets compliments wherever in the world she travels. In addition, his repairs to both modern and delicate antiques has been flawless. He can procure superb loose stones at remarkably reasonable prices, including unusual and rare ones. I’ve even been able to sell back unwanted and broken gold jewelry for scrap at prices that far exceeded other sources that I had investigated. Custom work and repairs are always reasonably priced. One of the most important qualities is that Dung is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He is genuinely kind and generous. Always with a smile on his face, he makes you feel right at home in his tiny shop. Don’t let the size of the shop fool you, Dung Tran’s talents are enormous.

The 12 on my fiancé’s watch came unglued from its nice resting place and decided to lodge itself right between the hands in the middle. What the heck Seiko? That ain’t no way to make a watch! But I remembered having recently walking back to work from Bart and seeing this teeny tiny little jewelery store that had a sign for repairs in the window and thinking I wish I had an excuse to check it out. So hey, thanks Seiko! Anyway, Trans Jeweler is petite, has a case or two of lower end jewelry,(mostly pearls as far as I could tell) and a little workstation in the back corner. The older gentleman working there was very nice and quoted me $ 15 for the fix. He apparently also will make custom jewlery as well. Don’t bother parking on the street, there’s free parking behind. Enter on Happy Valley Road to the left of the Wells Fargo bank! Note that they are closed on Mondays and at times they just close and leave a note on the door. Makes it difficult to pick up what you’ve left to have repaired!
