Our captain, Sam, was entertaining, friendly and knowledgeable. We thought the tour was good, but when he jumped into the swamp waters to feed the smaller gators, then later jumped into the water to wrestle with the huge gator, it turned to awesome!

Highly recommend this airboat company. I’ve taken a tour with them twice and have enjoyed every second. Guides are friendly and knowledgeable.

Absolutely fantastic tour of the swaps of Louisiana! Rennon, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgable not just in terms of the alligators, but also of the other local wildlife, swamp history and terrain, and many other fascinating subjects. He was extremely hilarious making it not just informative but also completely fun. I have to say this was one of the best tours I have ever experienced. Not only was Rennon fantastic at his job (and you could tell he definitely loved his work) but we were able to see at least a dozen alligators, we got to hold Louis (named after Louis Vitton, and Rennon’s own pet), and watch as our guide tested his reflexes time and again. Don’t believe me, check out the video of him feeding Marshmallow Bob! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is looking for something fun to do as a couple, or even for the whole family.

Nice boat ride but don’t let other reviews and pictures fool you. Half the boat ride is slowly riding on the open river to get to the bayou. The pictures and their brochure is deceiving because they do not get in the water nor feed up close. They just throw marshmallows out a distance to attract gators. There is a baby alligator they have for you to hold which is a good photo op.
I would’ve given it another star but everywhere you turn they are asking for a tip when the price is already pretty high.

DO IT. I was in NOLA with my bachelor party and we took a trip out here. So much fun! We saw a bunch of alligators and our guide was a G. Hopped out of the boat to feed them marshmallows and let them know what’s up. Very knowledgeable about the area, its history, and the animals living in the swamps. They’ve got some cool alligators (one albino), a few turtles and other things at the dock too to look at while you wait for the boat. It’s an all-​day thing so be prepared for that. No drinking on the boat unless you rent the entire boat (I was told this over the phone when i booked). Great experience!

I honestly had no idea what to expect when I signed up for a swamp tour with Airboat Adventures. My boyfriend was intent on finding gators and I was intent on not being eaten by one. Our solution was Airboat Adventures.
AA sits on the edge of New Orleans, nestled in a community that sleeps on the swamp. The HQ for the tours is in a wooden lodge — make sure to stop by the bathrooms before going on your tour! They also have some turtles and an albino alligator that you should definitely check out.
I was so apprehensive about the airboat, but we met our guide and he did a great job of making us feel comfortable and entertained. He told us a bit about his family — about how his father hunted and raised gators and his brother swims with gators. I’m pretty convinced our guide was the Cajun version of Crocodile Dundee
The owner of AA owns the area that you will be touring — a crazy amount of acres and his land sits next to a refuge, so you’re pretty secluded on the tours. It was simply beautiful out there. We saw tons of alligators and Cajun Crocodile Dundee was incredibly knowledgeable about the swamp and all the animals that live there. Our guide also had a baby alligator that he takes on his tours and we were able to hold him!
I was honestly sad to see the tour end — it was a great time out in the swamps. I think the next time we go, we’ll spring for the smaller boat (it can go into some of the smaller areas of the swamp.)

Airboats are so fun! My friends and I decided to do a last minute tour during our recent visit to Nola. They were happy to accommodate on short notice and picked us up from our hotel without any problems. Very organized!

This was such an AWESOME experience and a must-​do while visiting. First, I do need to point out a little mishap and lack of communication on their part that would’ve totally made me dock them quite a few stars, but the tour itself was so good they had redeemed themselves.
When my friend originally booked this tour for our party of 5, she was told that our reservations would be for 4pm so on the day of, we started leaving New Orleans at 3pm to head to Lafitte for our tour. About half an hour in we received a phone call from this company asking where we were and if we were going to show up, because our reservations were actually at 3pm and that this is the last tour of the day. Shocked, we explained the situation that we were told our tour was at 4pm, that we were about 15 minutes away, and that we definitely would still like to do the tour. The lady on the phone told us that it would not be a problem, they would wait for us, and just give them a call when we were closer. As soon as we were 5 minutes away, we gave them a call again to confirm that we are almost there and definitely do not want to miss this, to which a male answered the phone and told us to take our time because there is another tour at 6pm. (wtf?) Upon arrival, we learned that the boat surely did NOT wait for us as the lady had told us on the phone and that if we wanted to go on the tour we would have to wait until 6pm. We were FURIOUS. Why were we told our tour was at 4pm when it was really at 3pm? Why were we told that the boats would wait for us when they they weren’t going to? Why were we told the last tour is at 3pm by one person and then differently by another? BAD COMMUNICATION ALL AROUND. At this point I definitely did not want to do this anymore, but luckily the boys talked the girls into waiting, because it ended up being the best experience ever!
Not sure what the cost is for the bigger boat, but for the small boat it is $ 75/​person. It fits 5 – 7 people on a small boat. Let me tell you, it is definitely worth a little more for the small boat as it is more personal. I forgot the name of our tour guide but he was a bigger, taller gentleman. He was a lot of fun and very informative about the alligators and swamp life. Going at 6pm ended up being perfect too because you get to view the sunset. At the end of the tour, we got to hold Fluffy, the baby alligator. It can get a little chilly out in the waters so bring a light jacket just in case. Definitely worth the trip and adventure!

This is a super late post! But I figure that I finally should write it, especially since this was certainly one of the best parts of my first trip to Louisiana back in December 2015! I chose the smaller airboat because I wanted a more personal experience. And it was definitely an up close and personal experience that I will never forget!
The alligators came up really close, and it felt so cool to be in the midst of the Louisiana wetlands! Our tour guide grew up in Louisiana and knew the terrain so well! He was extremely knowledgable and very savvy in pointing out the alligators, birds, and other wildlife that seemed camouflaged in the big bayou! I was really impressed: D !!
One of the most memorable parts of my experience with Airboat Adventures was holding a 3-​month old baby alligator! I will never forget how cool it felt!
Back at the gift shop and waiting area, there are at least 2 live alligators in a tank. I was really stoked that at least one of them was an albino alligator, since I don’t get to see albinos all that often! The last time I saw one was at a San Francisco science museum a few years back!
If you want an amazing alligator swamp tour, definitely check out Airboat Adventures! I loved the fact that they picked me up from my hotel! It is totally worth it just to pay the shuttle fee and have Airboat Adventures pick you up in their shuttle and drive you out to the wetlands! I absolutely loved my experience! And I think you will, too!

Came out here with a group of the friends to check out the tour, and had to cancel our original time, but the staff was cool and booked us for a later show.
When we got here we had to go into the little store that could use some help, and staff that could have a better vibe for people looking forward to a air boat tour.
Price seemed a bit high but after going on the tour and the length of it then it seemed fair.
Tour was good for someones first time, but I’ve had better tours in Florida and had higher expectations.

Family of 4– We did the swamp adventure in the big boat– it held about 30 people. There were 3 long rows of benches– it was perfect for our 5 and 10 year olds. They could get up and move around a bit. Anson was our tour guide, loved his humor and his authentic Cajun accent. We saw about 8 turtles and 4 – 5 gators. The kids got a kick out of feeding the gators marshmallows. Tip– when you get off the bus– hustle to get in line for the bathrooms. There aren’t any on the boat, and the line is long!
Not sure if they always have one– but a fun surprise was a baby gator that you can hold!

Being from California, this is exactly the swamp tour experience you are looking for. The main building is crowded due to the fact that they have about 8 boats going out at a time. If you have a small group you can take a boat for 6 or some boats appeared to have 15+ people a boat. We saw lots of gators, turtles, bald eagles and other swamp wild life.
Our tour guide was Captain T. Earl, he was great. He grew up on the swamp and has been running around there since the age of 6. If you can request him as your tour guide. Very knowledgable and friendly. He really made the tour complete.
Awesome experience highly recommend it to anyone.

This was the best decision we made on our trip!!! We had originally planned to take the airboat tour but instead accidentally bought tickets for just the swamp and bayou tour. Best accident ever. We got to leisurely tour around, chat with our tour guide, feed gators (marshmallows no less???), hold a baby gator, take pictures and relax. It was just what we needed… our guide was also very sweet and knowledgeable.

I would HIGHLY recommend the airboat tour of the Bayou. I’m glad I read the reviews before going on this tour. I was NOT disappointed.
Our guide was Mike. He was nice, informative and seemed like an all around great guy. He didn’t go too fast where I was concerned for safety (I have a 7yo in tow), but fast enough at times to have fun. The safety headphones are optional but it does get loud on the boat with the fan, especially when we went fast.
We took the 12p tour and saw numerous alligators, turtles, birds (hawks, cranes and an owl) and got to hold a baby alligator! It was a lovely 75° outside. We brought hoodies, but didn’t need them.
There is a gift shop with tshirts, sweaters, ponchos, hats, food items, gator heads and gator teeth all for sale. The shop is CASH ONLY but there is an ATM if needed. Inside there are two resident alligators (one albino!) and a tortoise, all in their own viewing places where you can take pictures but obviously can’t touch.
One note: wear sunscreen and bring sunglasses (!!!). Both me and my kid are red on our faces and chest from the sun.
Tour lasted 1.5−1.75 hours. It was worth it and would hands down do it again.

I did a ton of research on airboat tours before heading to New Orleans, and Airboat Adventures came out on top! My group of four signed up for a large boat tour (15 – 27 people, $ 55/​person) plus paid an extra $ 20/​person for pickup and drop off down the street from our AirBnB. We picked up a few other groups along the way for about an hour long trip to the dock.
From start to finish, my group had an absolute blast. Even the bus ride was fun! We had a few minutes in the shop before our tour to pay for our tickets and pick up water bottles. Once it was time to board, we headed onto our boat with about 15 other people. Our tour guide was fantastic and super knowledgable about the gators, the swamp, and New Orleans in general. From the start we saw TONS of gators and other animals. We even got to hold a baby one! We lucked out with an absolutely beautiful day, but it was super hot in early June. We thought there might be a «breeze» from the air boat but there definitely wasn’t. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area, but be sure to bring lots of water and sunscreen!

This was my favorite part of my trip to Louisiana. I’ve always heard about the «swamp» and wanted to see it first hand. The airboat, the swamp and the gators in just one tour.
The tour lasted about 1 – 2 hours. We were on the 16 passenger airboat, so it was a big airboat. It was super hot so I’m glad I brought a hat and some sunscreen. The guide takes you around the swamp. They provide you with some noise canceling headphones during the ride. The boat can get real loud when going fast. The guide makes pit stops to throw some marshmallows in the water to make the alligators come out and eat. He also had some raw chicken to get them to come out of the water. I think his name was Mike. Funny guy. He had a baby alligator, Lightning, that he was hiding up until the end of the tour that he brought out of a cooler. We all were able to hold it and take a picture. I had a great time on this tour.

Seriously, SO. MUCH. FUN! Definitely a NOLA must do! I had no idea I would be having such a great time on this boat ride and was SO glad I decided to choose an airboat vs. a regular boat and a SMALLER boat vs. a larger boat!
Our boat ended up only having 5 people including me and my friend which was the perfect size. Our guide was SO funny and friendly and made the whole boat ride tons of fun for us.
Not only did we get to see gators during the tour, we also saw a raccoon and owl in broad daylight!
The smaller boat goes really fast and is so much fun and definitely worth the extra money.
TIPS:
— It gets pretty damn hot and sunny out there so I’d suggest bringing a hat. But make sure you take your hat off and hold onto it tight if you choose to ride on a smaller airboat because you go so fast it’ll fly off! The hat is good for when you’re slowly cruising through the swamp during the middle part.
— Bring sunglasses! (It’s freakin’ bright out there)
— I’d suggest an earlier tour (if you’re down to wake up early, but if not because you went out the night before then I’d just suggest any tour time where you’ll wake up not hungover) so it’ll be less hot. We went on the 12 PM tour and it was super hot and would have probably been better if we had chosen a little earlier tour but the heat during our tour time was still bearable.
Would hands down recommend this tour to everybody and is well worth the extra money you may pay compared to a regular swamp tour boat you’d get with other companies.

Knowing that my wife and I wanted to experience a swamp tour while vacationing in NOLA, I reserved a small boat (maximum seating is 8 people) a couple weeks before arrival.
A credit card is required to reserve your spot; however, the credit card isn’t ran until the day of the tour. Discover is an accepted form of payment.
The small boat tour cost $ 75 per person. Transportation is also available for an additional $ 20 per person. Total cost per person was $ 95. We chose to have Airboat Adventures transport us to and fro since their fee was much cheaper than a taxi fee. Since we were not within Airport Adventures hotel lineup (we stayed at Ashton’s Bed & Breakfast), customer service was able to work with us to find a pick up location to walk to. In our case, our pick up point was on the corner of N. Rampart and Esplanade Ave., a short 15 minute walk from our lodging.
We chose the 9:45am tour in an effort to beat the sweltering heat. Be sure to lather up with water resistant sun block since you will be sweating and there isn’t a cover on the air boats to help with shelter. Bring a bottle or two of water to help with hydration. Open toed shoes are allowed (I wore flip flops). You may want to consider leaving loose hats and sunglasses behind since there is a chance they could be whisked off from the speed. If you have long hair, pull it back during the duration of the tour.
Ear protection is provided to assist with muffling the loud air boat. Our guide (Sam) recommended not using insect repellent since the repellent attracts a variety of insects. I walked away with about five mosquito bites and my wife walked away with zero mosquito bites. Neither of us applied insect repellent.
During our tour we seen a considerable amount of alligators in a variety of stages: sunbathing on fallen trees, gliding through the water, on the banks and on our boat. Our guide (Sam) enthralled us by feeding the gators marshmallows (crack for gators). Sam also amazed us by enticing a 7.5 foot gator onto our boat with an Oscar Mayer hot dog! Thrilling!
Sam also showed and explained about other animals and wildlife within the habitat. Sam literally grabbed a huge golden webbed spider from the trees and offered the creepy eight legged arachnid around for each of our holding pleasure. That would be a pass for me! Although spiders creep me out, it was super cool to witness.
Sam was able to patiently and knowledgeably answer each excursionists questions. Sam encouraged questions and didn’t make anybody feel as if there was a dumb question. It is extremely obvious that Sam is passionate and has the utmost respect for the swamps and wildlife of NOLA.
Be sure to bring some cash with you so that you can tip your tour guide at the end.

While roaming the streets of NOLA, my friends and I ran into a tour orientated shop. Besides finding great eats in NOLA, we wanted to do some sight seeing. All feeling brave and adventurous, we decided to check out an air boat tour with gators. Airboat Adventures was our destination.
We had a charter pick us up from the tour shop. The drive from the tour shop to our destination was approximately thirty to thirty-​five minute drive. When we arrived at the venue, we had to claim our wristbands at gift store. There was also an indoor alligator zoo. The alligators looked liked they were rescues. Upon receiving our wrist bands, we had to wait outside to board the airboats.
The airboat tour lasted about a couple hours. Our tour guide, Steve, was very informative and entertaining. On the tour, our airboat drove through marshes, open waters, and land marked locations. Various sizes of alligators were seen up close and personal. The wild alligators were summoned to our airboat with large puffs of marshmallows, also known as the alligator’s «Crack». There was an alligator called, «Hulk», which was about twenty feet long. This creature was beautiful, but dangerous at the same time. If you were to stick out your hand and pet it, don’t expect to see your arm again after feeling thousand pounds of pressure per bite. There was a baby sized alligator on board that everyone on the airboat got to pet and hold. Wave your finger in front of it, then that bad boy will not let go!
Overall, this was a very fun experience! After this tour, I did feel I left with some knowledge.

I have been waiting to go on a swamp tour since moving to the New Orleans area. Airboat adventures did not disappoint!
We booked the 9:45am time slot. It is so so hot here during the summer months, we wanted to beat the heat! I reserved the small boat, which fit 6 people. There were 4 in our party and another couple. It was awesome to be in a smaller boat and a much more personal experience. I would be sure to follow the rules others have said:
1. wear lightweight clothes, and no hats that could blow off!
2. sunscreen
3. BYOB– we brought water but it looks like you can bring beer too!
4. wear those yellow earmuffs or you will quickly lose your hearing!
The tour itself lasted a little under two hours. Our guide was super knowledgeable and fun. We saw probably 30+ gators and even got to hold a baby! The experience was not cheap at $ 75 a person (need a CC to hold reservation) but it is something I will always remember!
