Austin All Star Security

My wife and I moved to the Austin area from Wisconsin, where security systems aren’t installed as standard equipment in most homes. So we initially didn’t think to purchase monitoring services, but after receiving a flyer for All-​Star Security, I had a look at the website and was intrigued by how reasonably priced it could be.
A day later Jeff came over to the house to explain his offerings, which he did in a friendly and professional manner. With the functionality you receive at All-Star’s rates, it was a no-​brainer. What was scheduled as a consultation turned into an installation/​activation, and we were armed and secure prior to going to bed.
Jeff and All-​Star security are legit. Having purchased the expandable system, we’re definitely going to give him a call soon to have him wire a video camera for the front door.

UPDATE: I’ve been meaning to update this review for a couple months. Finally getting around to it. The first or second weekend after Jeff installed it, we received an alarm from our motion sensor, which turned out to be a false alarm. He promptly came out to have a look and adjust the sensitivity. Three false alarms later, Jeff determined the motion sensor provided by our builder was faulty and offered us a brand one (a model he trusts) free of charge. No false alarms since he swapped them out. A sixth star is in order for Jeff and All Star Security.

I used All Star Security to replace all my window sensors, when all my windows were replaced. I had good experience with them. I just turned on my alarm system in my new home with All Star, with a few additional wireless motion sensors. Installation was quick and painless.

Ive had All Star Security for about 3months now and so far so good. So good that I even had my parents switch their home alarm to All Star Security also. All Star Security have no long year contracts unlike other competitors asking for 3 or even 5 yr contracts. AllStar Security only asks for 30days notice to cancel. Jeff installed both of them. He was efficient and professional. Very helpful. He even price matched a couple of item for us like the cellular unit for the wireless monitoring. And you cant beat the monthly rate. Probably the lowest in town.

We have not been using our older alarm system, but decided to get it up and running. The first company I called didn’t work on our system but recommended Jeff at All Star. They were right! He has done an excellent job of getting our system working and also trouble shooting problems with a rental unit.

AllStar Security installed our alarm system and camera 2 years ago, we liked the
setup however the installer was quite rude, nonetheless we proceeded accordingly and ended up content with the system.
Fast forward 2 years later, after 2 calls to AllStar to assist with camera issues we get a promise to follow-​up and nothing. Very unfortunate as we needed our camera issues resolved and considered adding additional ones.

I am slightly disappointed because I read all these great reviews about this company and about its prompt responses. I inquired yesterday morning because I have started looking for a security company and I still have not gotten a response to my email. What is the best way to get some info?

I’m really happy with All Star Security so far. I was looking for a local, mom and pop company that could install and monitor my house. Jeff and his team did a great job diagnosing my property and offering solutions for the place. I’m happy that I can get everything I need from All Star without paying the hefty price tag for services from ADT or someone else. There’s no monthly contract which is a huge plus. You do end up buying the equipment yourself, but overall you come out way ahead.

I switched from ADT to All Star Security as soon as my 3 years contract was over (Aug/​2014). As a small business (KId-​E-​Shack Lakeway) owner, I need to be able to have a right away and /​or anytime answer from my security/​alarm company. I couldn’t deal talking to machine, and be on hold. Also, I had them telling me to upgrade my alarm panel to a better and new one anytime I had an alarm issue. Jeff Alexander (owner) and staff are always there for my business needs. They do the same service for lower rates and they have friendly staff. My business friends recommended me Jeff Alexander business. I am very happy to choose All Star Security. Thank you!

We found AllStar Security through Unilocal last week. Jeff, as mentioned in the other reviews, came out with short notice. We noticed this aspect in the reviews and that was important to us since we didn’t plan very well for this. We had contacted another security system and thought we would automatically go with them. Then we didn’t want to have a 3 year commitment with them, so we started to looked at other options. After reviewing a few companies on Unilocal,we called AllStar. Thank you Jeff for coming out and making the process seamless! The system has been installed now and it’d very simple to use.

Jeff did a wonderful job when I called him to give me a bid on a home security system. If you want someone who will sit down with you and go over all equipment options (complete with pictures), show you all of the company credentials, and walk through pricing structure, then AllStar security is the best option for you! One of the greatest features is that you don’t have to enter a long term contract. Jeff was very professional and patient with all of my questions. I would recommend AllStar to all of our neighbors!

The new home we had built had a security system installed, and I called around to see who had the best pricing on monitoring the system. Many places said they couldn’t monitor another installed system, and I wasn’t about to rip out the existing one. Not only did Jeff help us out, but he gave us the best deal around! I had been shopping around for security systems for about a month and was frustrated with talking to used car salesman types. I found AllStar on Unilocal and Angie’s List and sent an email inquiry. After less than 5 minutes, I had an email from Jeff and spoke to him that night. He was personable, informative, and straight to the point when it came to packages and pricing.
Danny installed the system about a week later. It did take a long time (about 5 hours), but I appreciated that he installed it the way that we wanted and re-​did some work to ensure that. Though it was a lengthy install, he took the time to patiently answer a bunch of questions, practice using the system, etc.
A couple of weeks after the system was installed, I received a call from the monitoring company. They thought my battery was faulty. Jeff came out the next day and replaced it in about 5 minutes.

AllStar Security just installed a basic system in our home and I’m very happy with the results. The system is functioning just as I expected and the interactive panel is user friendly. I also really like the convenience of using an app to arm my home.

I read a lot of reviews and spoke to several security companies before selecting Allstar to replace my existing system. I initially decided to go with a different company but at the last minute I called Allstar. I spoke to Jeff who was very patient will all of my questions. In fact, I called him a few times before deciding to hire them. He never ONCE tried to up-​sale me on anything which I appreciated. Later, Alexis came to our house to go over the contract and installation. She also was very professional, very informative with zero up-​sale. On the day of the installation, Marcus the installer, was on time, very friendly and he really new the product well. He installed the entire system and answered all of my questions in just a little over an hour.
Allstar’s customer service is first class. As mentioned above, I called Jeff several times. I later found out that he was out of the country on vacation. Every time I spoke to him he never once told me he was on vacation or that he wasn’t «on the clock». He only mentioned that our call may lose connection because he was in a bad area. Wow!

When I moved into my new house, I had lots of home security system companies try to sell me on their service. The house’s previous owners had used All Star, and Jeff contacted me after I moved in to see if I wanted to re-​activate the system. All Star waived the installation fee due to the previous owner’s installation, and Jeff even threw in a few free extras as part of my contract.
Jeff made sure to explain all of the options I had available, and gave me honest pricing on each. I’m very pleased with my new system and would recommend All Star to anyone looking for a reputable alarm system company.

Jeff was very straightforward and easy to deal with, taking time to explain how things worked and not trying to sell me on unneeded services. The installation took longer than anticipated due to some issues at my house, but there were no surprise charges as a result.
I was also glad to deal with a local business owner instead of a national security chain.
