Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt

It was such an amazing team building event in Laguna Beach downtown.

What a great day! I purchased 4 tickets, 2 as Christmas gifts. No one knew what to expect and 2 of the 4 said they weren’t really all that excited about it but boy did we have fun! Not only do you get to walk around beautiful Laguna Beach but your exercising your brain and your body at the same time. Both of the «skeptics» said multiple times what fun they had and we all said we would do it again.

Thank you to the team who created this event! A lot of creativity went into this and we had a great time running around the streets of Laguna. After living in the surrounding area for over 23 years, i was able to see parts of Laguna that I haven’t seen before and have fun solving puzzles at the same time. Great way to spend the day!

I can’t say enough good things about this experience. It is fun, challenging and very well organized. Laguna is a great venue for this adventure and playing gives you a great chance to see things that you have probably walked by many times without noticing. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good way to spend a few hours.

This was a total blast and great family event. We have done escape rooms and such and this was a whole new level. Very well planned out and amazing.
You do a lot of walking (about 5 miles) but it is over many hours. It is a great way to get out and do some detective work. Lots of fun twists and turns.
I highly recommend this. I am thinking of planning to do it with work as a team building event.

We used Alex for the scavenger hunt as a team building event for our company. None of us really knew what to expect other than a few miles of walking around Laguna Beach solving some puzzles. Not only was the event extremely well organized, but it was a great way to see the small nuances and charm that are all over the city. The puzzles were definitely a lot of fun and brought out a lot of fun and competitive spirit amongst our teams.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a corporate team event or just a fun day with at least 8 – 10 people in Laguna.

We did this as a company event and it was such a great team building event for everyone! We all got to know each other a little more and it was definitely fun and competitive. For some they just enjoyed the hunt with out the competitiveness so it was great for everyone and definitely fun!
I would recommend for a birthday or just for a fun night!

Super sick. Ran all over town with my team and set records. And it was nice that it was so well thought out.

What a blast! You won’t be disappointed in the Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt, it will bring out your inner sleuth! It can be challenging and takes team work. I would highly recommend this activity, but not for children. Alex kept us informed with possible rain prior to our hunt and it shows that he has worked hard to make this a really fun and challenging activity.

OK, we had an absolutely FANTASTIC day! My 3 buddies (Belinda, Pat & Nancy) from work did a #murdermysteryscavengerhunt… OMG!!! It was supposed to rain but you can tell it was a beautiful day. I’ve done the murder mystery dining ones and they pale in comparison to this one. If you LOVE to solve puzzles, clues, walking and exploring a new city or the one you live in, this is for you. It took us four hours and 5 miles but so challenging and fun. They are done here in Laguna Beach, also San Clemente & San Diego. We might be doing San Clemente next. Just do it, it’s FUN!!!

I had high expectations for this event, and I was not disappointed. Such a fun entertaining day. The event is meticulously put together, so well run. Can’t wait to do San Clemente and San Diego.

So much fun! Requires A LOT of walking, but you get to see the city in a way you normally wouldn’t! It’s a great way to get out of the house, and have an experience like nothing else. HIGHLY recommended.

My friends took me on the scavenger hunt as a surprise for my birthday and it was amazing. It was so much fun, well thought out and much more complicated than I expected. I highly recommend this event to everyone! We will be trying out one of the other locations soon!

Such a great way to spend a day in Laguna. A lot of thought and effort went into creating this hunt and it was well worth it.

Awesome time with awesome people had a blast you really need to be on top of your game. I advise you no adult beverages before hand. I would definitely recommend to everyone for any group or leadership outing or bonding. Very clever and interesting!

I am writing a five star review based on character alone. I actually haven’t done the scavenger hunt yet.
I had arranged a large event for my company for a day that ultimately was to be hit by an El Niño in a big way. Alex not only alerted me to the problem days in advance, he encouraged me to cancel for the sake of the fun of my team and then helped me find an indoor replacement. We went for a puzzle room, and Alex had done many of them and had great opinions and guidance to share (including things like what percent completion range is actually optimal).
This is a man who loves puzzles and cares deeply about his customers’ happiness. If he puts half as much care into his own product as he did in helping me find a competitor, I can’t imagine anything less than a perfect day.

Overall well run and incredibly fun.
Great team building experience with the crew from work.
Beautiful setting and got to learn some history as well, as a bonus.

Amazing Race. Laguna Beach Addition!
My gf bought me a 4 person scavenger hunt for my 30^th and it was just the perfect TEAM Building event ! I am first to say, i might be the access fat in the group but I designated myself to be the camera crew and take videos and photos of our expereince!
Playing by the beach with the weather being slightly overcast made running around a lot more bearable! I strongly suggest you to wear comfortable shoes and clothes because you will be walking/​running around a lot!
Without giving anything away, i def think the clues were pretty elaborate and not the typical 1+1 = A type deal. def need to work your pretty little brain a bit to solve things. We had a nice group of 5 and the Men in the group def stepped it up.
Overall it was really fun and def brought all of us closer.
So did we win? We were a bit messy on writing down info and which case caused us FIRST place!!! So make sure to be Super clear in everything you do!
If you have extra member you want to invite the day of .the allow it as long as you bring EXACT change of $ 25 !
The winning team dont really recieve anything (which may be a bit of a bummer .like a Complimentary Drink from the Company would be a nice touch) but overall its def. Bragging rights and just simply feel good!

Bright eyed and bushy tailed, our team of 6 (The Master Detectives) arrived at Hennessey’s on a Saturday morning prepared with notepads, pencils, magnifying glass, and an old-​fashioned smoking pipe… (necessary? no. but how can one solve a murder without the right props?!)
My friend’s Christmas gift to our group was tickets to this Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt. We’re a nerdy bunch and play Clue so it was a fitting gift. After a short introduction, we were given a binder of supplies and all 10 teams separated to our various starting points. We followed the map around Laguna Beach, solving various puzzles and collecting clues to eliminate suspects.
Alex, the coordinator/​brains, forewarned us that only 60% of teams solve everything and reveal the killer in the allotted time ~4hrs (don’t worry, they also have a shortcut version if you want a less challenging day). I’ve been to Laguna Beach numbers of times so I was surprised as some of the spots I had never seen/​noticed! After a fun day of laughs and working together, we actually ended up 1^st place (solve time of 3hrs 18min)!!
The entire experience was great and I was completely blown away by all the work Alex put into organizing everything. From the binders to the challenges, you could tell all the time and detail needed to get it to work out neatly. HIGHLY recommend this and we’ve actually already bought our San Clemente tickets!
