OC Stylist Brandy Michele Hair & Makeup Artist

When I moved to the Laguna area two years ago, I needed a new hair dresser. I hesitated when my daughter recommended Brandy, but knew that my daughter is very particular, and haven’t looked back. She has taken my ‘aging’ hair and made it wonderful — I get compliments all the time — even from people at my university who generally don’t dole them out. I highly recommended her as a stylist!

I have been a client of Brandy for over 6 years. She is amazing with cut and color! She always gives me exactly what I ask for and more. Today was no exception as I am feeling refreshed and excited with my new style! She is also extremely talented with make up. She did my make up and hair for my wedding last year. #happycustomer!

Brandy! Hands down the best. Quit looking around. she is very sweet and soft spoken and so gentle with my long extremely thin hair. she appreciates how hard i work to get it there. She even lets me brush my own hair out after the dye so i can be as gentle as i need. And with her massages ive never been more relaxed in public. i would come to her if she had just one of these qualities but shes got it all. did i mention tons of experience, lots of ideas, and uses the best most gentle products. thanx brandy see ya soon!

I have been Brandy’s client for nearly a decade. This was not so remarkable when I lived in Laguna Beach years ago and my house was one mile from her salon… Now I live in downtown San Diego so seeing her exactly once per month is a 3-​hour round trip. It has been a pleasure to maintain our business relationship AND our warm friendship! For the past six or so years that I have been in SD, I just laugh as I drive by salons that are literally inches from my building — people think I am CRAZY but sorry, my hair is a vital part of my life and I am not gonna apologize for it!!!
I have extremely long hair that is plentiful but very fine. It is naturally dark and we achieve a richer base color and brilliant blond hi-​lites that never damage my hair. I have periods of time (LIKE YESTERDAY!) where I want to hack it all off and Brandy always gently reminds me that my hair is amazing and that deep down I realllllly don’t want to cut it all off… Sure enough, as soon as I get to my car’s rearview mirror or home to my bathroom mirror, I am SO glad that she knows me so well!
Brandy especially helps me when I experience unexplainable periods of time where I lose more hair than usual. My dermatologist says that hair can just «let go» for myriad reasons and Brandy recommended that I take biotin supplements. My point is that Brandy becomes my shrink in a way when I feel like I am «losing my hair!» She is always so quick to remind me that it’s only a big deal to me and that the world only sees cascades of pretty hair. She is always doing research and I find myself telling my dermatologist things that I learn from Brandy!
I think that Brandy, because of her soft-​spoken nature and extensive knowledge of everything from what is healthy to what is trendy to what is just plain right, has a lot of clients with specific needs and requests. I know from being a long-​term client that she enjoys many other long-​term clients. She has made it easy for people in that she has stayed in the exact same location and not forced people to traipse all over the world after her. Sometimes it is the soft-​spoken people that contribute much to our lives because we really listen to what they have to say!
When I first came to Brandy all those years ago, my overbooked stylist up the road had let me exit his salon knowing that my color was wrong but he had clients stacked up and waiting. I was so embarrassed because my roots were «hot» (orange!) but I went to the gym that night in a ponytail and tearfully told an employee and he called his friend Brandy and she stayed late and fixed the «horizon lines» along my scalp that occurred when the color was taken off too early and/​or not toned in the shampoo bowl because time did not permit. She even lifted the color super slow to make sure that we did no damage since we didn’t know exactly what products had been used on my hair earlier that day.
So visit Brandy and she will fix whatever is wrong or get you outta your rut or just maintain your current style that you are completely happy with. Brandy does not double-​book herself, she works with your schedule, she is ready when you arrive and does not utilize an assistant. I don’t agree with that old saying, «It’s just hair — it’ll grow back!» I think that we need to take realllllly good care of our hair!!!

I have been going to Brandy for almost 10 years — she is the best, current on techniques and makeup, too! She is great for the regular 6 week thing or full on events, weddings, etc. she is reliable and flexible — gotta love Brandy! As much as she deserves the best review possible, I hope not too many people read this because once you go to Brandy you’ll stay and I will have to schedule my regular cut and color earlier! I have a friend who flies down from Northern Ca every 5 weeks after she went just once!

Brandy is the BEST! Awesome stylist. She is FANTASTIC with color. I get compliments on my hair consistently since I have been having my hair styled by Brandy.

Best stylist ever! Brandy can do everything from layers, to bangs and even ombré! She is awesome! She won’t do anything to your hair without telling you and she is do sweet! I am so thankful I found her! Go to her, you won’t be disappointed!

Before I moved to Oregon, Brandy was my hair stylist for a couple years. I think the first time i went to her it was just for a haircut and the cut was amazing. nothing too crazy (because i didn’t was anything too drastic) but from the shampooing treatment to the blow dry style– it was awesome and after that i didn’t go to anyone else until i moved (even once i got here i didn’t do anything for months because I didn’t have Brandy!). Then I started experimenting with colors. It would be an understatement to say that color is Brandy’s specialty. I once went in wanting red (i’m a blonde) and she mixed the most AMAZING red color for me. And when i wanted a change from THAT… she made me an awesome brunette… and from that, before i moved, she gave me the necessary steps to go back to my blonde if i ever wanted. I highly recommend Brandy to all my friends and family back home and I have yet to find a stylist that compares!!! Miss you Brandy

Brandy has been doing my hair since 2008. When I first started going to her, I had very thin hair due to medication that I was on. She suggested extensions and I was pretty against it right off the bat because I didn’t want to damage any of the remaining hair that I still had. She told me about a different kind of extension that isn’t glued in (or whatever other methods they use that damage your hair) and I was sold. My love affair with extensions began. I ended up keeping the extensions in for 2 ½ years and just had them taken out for good earlier this year. I would always tell her that I had to get off the crack (referring to my extensions) because they are so addicting! You walk out of there looking like a goddess with all that hair.
She always knows what is going on in the hair and makeup world too. Her finger is definitely on the pulse. She is super good with color. I’m always having her do something different whether it’s just an allover color, peek-​a-​boo highlights, all over highlights or ombré highlights.
She did my makeup one time for an event. I felt like a totally different person when I looked in the mirror. It was the same old me, just WAY better. I’m a total dummy when it comes to makeup and she is a superstar. I never in a million years would have picked the color palette that she did. But, that is exactly why I had her do it, not me.
If you are thinking about changing your hair stylist or looking for a new one, you have to check out Brandy ASAP. I’m so glad that I did.
