I absolutely love this place! I go all the time and highly recommend the«Maui Roll». It’s so fresh and they add a bit of crunch with some extra spice. Also, Sophie is usually my server and she has excellent customer service skills and the food comes out fast each time! Friendly and casual environment in a great location. Thank you guys

I’m from Chicago and travel a good percentage of the year. One of the best tasting sushi restaurants I’ve been too! The wife and I tried 3. Casino roll is glorious

Food was ok but the portions were very small and I was still hungry. Service was not great and the prices were high.

Favorite sushi in south OC! Fresh fish, authentic style, Gustavo is the best sushi chef I’ve had! Top things to try: gyoza(potstickers)-Ask for deep fried!, udon is A+ perfectly cooked, chicken teriyaki is always good if you’re not feeling too fishy, and now for the really good parts! Maui roll! Breaded onion with avocado inside, topped with delicious Cajun seared tuna, jalapeño sauce and green onions!- also, the soul fighter roll– tempura salmon and avocado inside, topped with fresh salmon, ponzu sauce, and jalapeño sauce! I obviously like the jalapeño sauce lol. Made in the house! Service can take a little longer on busy nights, but worth the wait! And for you more boring sushi eaters– crunchy rolls is always good, along with some salmon sushi, or again, the Cajun tuna! Enjoy! Maybe with some sake???

Do NOT eat here. We waited two hours for low quality food, half of which never arrived, then were chased down the street and accosted by a server for not leaving a great tip(we paid for the food we received, the tax, and a bit extra). He then refused to call a manager and kept threatening to call the police(not really sure what that would have accomplished), until our friend gave him $ 15 to shut up and go away. On to our experience: The service? ALEXA, our«server», was terrible. She took our order, got most of it wrong, then never came back. Nice job ALEXA! The food? Um, we didn’t get sick? I guess that counts for something. Though we also didn’t get most of what we ordered. And most of what was served was pretty bad. Except the miso and udon noodle soup. Those were actually very good. The atmosphere? We sat outside. They did not turn the heat on after we asked the server, checked on us only when they came out to start putting chairs up 30 minutes before posted closing time. The check. $ 410 for 9 people. Ok. We only received $ 360 worth of food, so that’s what we paid for. And I get that there is a service charge added for large parties, except you didn’t provide a service. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Laguna Sushi is not worth your time or money.

Horrible service. Ran out of rice. Got better fish at the super market. Couldn’t handle a party of 9 whatsoever.

I did not care too much for this place. The sushi was not anything special. I ordered the crunch roll and dragon roll. I didn’t like how sweet the rolls were. The sauce on it was overwhelming. I ordered a soda and the server brought out a glass of ice and a can of soda for me to pour myself… The sushi chef was friendly so I gave this place two stars.

Worst sushi ever !! Very nice and attentive sushi chefs but terrible food. If you’re looking for a good sushi experience avoid this place at all costs! Food was dry and chalky.

Our for the day in Laguna and this place was recommended by a local. Walked in at 2:30 pm and one table of customer. It’s understandable that there’s only one sushi chef on. More customers came in and the orders started coming but the sushi took time. Seemed like a typical sushi house. Nothing extra special. He staff was friendly. Price point it’s good. Maybe we caught it ant an off time of the day.

They have really great rolls! And try the shrimp boat! You may think it’s gross, but it’s not. Make a reservation if it’s he weekend. Only need like an hour or so notice. But the wait can be 20 minutes at times.

Usually excellent service, but today we waited 1 hour and sushi that never came. On top of that, they tried to charge us for all of the items that never came. They were not busy at all(Thursday night with seats and tables open) so we were honestly shocked. The only thing I would say is that if you want excellent service, sit at the bar. The waitresses don’t seem to know how to wait.

I love the sweet shrimp at Sushi Laguna, everywhere else I have tried this it has not been comparable. They show you it raw and alive and twist it in front of your the head off their body and the presentation is one of my favorite parts ordering this seasonal item.

Sushi was just OK, a bit on the pricey side. The décor is pretty outdated. Great location in any case. Looking forward to checking out nearby restaurants as this place doesn’t necessarily allure for a return visit.

I highly recommend Sushi Laguna to anyone that wants AMAZING Sushi in a relaxed, casual environment. Sushi bars/restaurants are a dime a dozen in the O.C., but I’m here to tell you that the tuna at Sushi Laguna literally melts in ur mouth(yes, it is that GooD)! I love to bounce in after a workout & pony up at the sushi bar where I feel welcomed every time. They also have patio seating & a few tables on the inside, but personally, I prefer to sit at the bar. To date, this is the best sushi I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to go back ASAP! … Also the entire staff is Awesome & I must try new rolls next time as they all look YuM!

Great little place. It’s not fancy but my mom and I go here for dinner and always have great meals. Their miso soup is awesome. Fresh fish. They have really good ginger dressing on their house salad. The Vegetable tempura is yummy. Spicy tuna roll and tempura shrimp roll are good options too. Service can be a little spotty, servers seem to always be teenagers. Sometimes in training! if you are looking for good sushi, casual and conveniently located downtown this is a perfect little spot! Just remember nothing fancy! simple and fresh!
