Crossline Community Church

Came here for 3 weddings and will have my own wedding here in 2016. Tiffany and Gayle are great wedding coordinators and are very accomodating.
Highly recommended for people looking for a very modern and beautiful wedding venue!

The worship music is unbelievably loud. Whaaaaatttt? Yeah, that loud. It’s deafening.
Bring ear plugs. Remove hearing aids OR prepare to purchase hearing aids in the future if you don’t have them now because the damage to your ear drums is real.
If you attend, then prepare for the loudest, most deafening «concert» you can imagine. Then after the concert plug your ears once more for a barrage of loud video announcements.
**Hey, AV guys, the sanctuary wasn’t built for a modern sound system! It needs proper sound proofing, but if the budget won’t allow for that then TURN THE VOLUME DOWN. But no one listens to this kind of feedback (cuz they must not be able to hear any longer) even though people who visit and attend regularly complain.
The teaching is pretty good, and the pastor’s vocabulary and grammar are excellent (hard to find this at many churches, believe it or not). The people at the church are friendly. If it weren’t for the aforementioned sound system issues then this would be a nice place to try to get connected… but if you cannot worship due to a real fear of hearing loss and anxiety about remembering ear plugs then it may not be the correct place to call home.

This review is based on our personal interaction with pastor JPJones. We had been looking at churches in the area and came to meet Nick Vujicic and hear him speak. Nick is the man with no arms or legs who speaks around the globe with a message of hope and love. His talks attract many disabled and infirmed. We had the pleasure of being invited to meet Nick beforehand and he was kind enough to put us in the second row. After being seated by security, we were asked to save a seat by a woman as she needed to get her friend in a wheel chair. She needed an end seat so the caregiver could sit next to the person they care for in a wheelchair. Of course we helped her so my wife put her purse on the chair to save it. Well a few minutes later some guy picks up my wife’s purse and moves it. She tells this guy she is saving the seat and with the meanest look on his face he tells her these seats are reserved and he always sits there. He picks up the reserved sign and puts it in my wife’s face and says «see they are reserved and I always sit here». That’s when he said something that blew my mind. «I am the pastor and I always sit here». So I got up and told him we were just saving a spot for a gal we don’t know who is with someone in a wheelchair. Now you might expect a man of God would have compassion and understanding and realize his actions did not match his position in the church. Instead he told me «I am the pastor and I always sit here and my wife is here and I have my special seat pad here.» No eye contact at all. Just a «don’t bother me with this inconsequential thing» attitude. Now I understand anyone can have a bad moment. I know I have had many. Problem is I am not an ordained pastor who runs a church. In that moment, JP Jones wasn’t representative of the faith or his church. Now we understand he has probably done a lot of good with the church and impacted the lives of people positively. But, like a restaurant with good reviews serving a terrible meal, this pastor blew it for us. We will never come here again and I will pray that this pastor is able to reconcile his upbeat stage persona and his mean, nasty don’t sit in my seat persona. Straighten up man, you are always on and you never know who you are speaking to.

Amazing music, messages that feel like they are meant for me, activities for all ages with amazing youth ministry.

My husband and I got married here in March 14. Tiffany Thompson was wonderful at helping us. She did a great job at making sure everything and everyone was on time. Tiffany was very professional and friendly person. The church grounds are gorgeous! No matter where you are around the church there is always something beautiful to see! Love the people and the church grounds! Will definitely recommend this place!!!

JP the senior pastor is right on point but come prepared for a fast style bible-​centric message.

PROS: The Bible is taught, and you will learn a lot of theology. The church (for the most part) upholds an unwavering stance on NOT going against what the Bible says. (Though I don’t find «Once saved, always saved» in the Bible anywhere.) You will have an opportunity to get into a small group and many chances to go on a mission trip: both very positive experiences. Also, you will be encouraged to READ the Bible! The
CONS: At some point, if you are like me, you will hit a brick wall and realize what you really knew all along: There has to be more than this. If you are traditional at heart, you will wonder why you are watching TV at church and why people bring iPads, coffee, phones, etc. inside the sanctuary. Some do not come in from the patio to worship. The band is too loud and is positioned on a stage, like a concert. You can only either look at them or at the screens with the lyrics. To me, the worship does not engender an opportunity for participation or lack of distraction. The room is usually dark during the three worship songs. The sermon is preached, and you will notice that it feels like you are taking Theology 101 every Sunday. This will be perfect at first if you don’t know a lot. But later you will wonder why the ND church is so pastor-​centered every Sunday instead of being God-​centered. There are people who do not go to church when the speaker is not to their liking. Sadly, the church is set up this way, so you can’t blame the person for this attitude. I also don’t think things are very organized, including guidance for small groups.
If you are someone who wants to be SUSTAINED, I don’t recommend this church. If you don’t know the New Testament (we did not hear the Old Testament other than small references), it would be good for you. I am grateful for all I’ve learned and for being led slowly but surely back to the Catholic Church, where the focus of the Mass is celebrating the Holy Eucharist, hearing the Bible being read, listening to a humble homily, and participating in song. This is what I mean by God-​centered. Thanks to God that we can choose where to attend. And thanks to Crossline’s encouragement to read the Bible because now I know exactly what the Liturgy means and what book it is. :) Some people are looking for entertainment in a church, but I am not. I seek nourishment. Best wishes on your journey with Jesus.

Recently came for a wedding and not only is the location stunning but the Church staff was so accomodating and friendly!
The church is quite modern with great lighting and a good sound system. The sanctuary seats about 200, which is great for an intimate setting. Next to the church is a beautiful lake and lush hills that is the perfect setting for a photo.
I wish I lived closer to Laguna Hills to attend one of their services…

My wife, my children and I have been going to Crossline Church for 2 years now. J.P., the head pastor, has a way of delivering a message that really speaks to us without being what I would call preachy or condemning. He is an amazing guy with the ability to talk with our congregation, not to us or at us.
I went to the men’s retreat this past year as well. I did not know one person going into it and left with some amazing friends. I am involved in a men’s group on Thursday evenings with dinner and group study that I would recommend to any adult of any age over 18. The discussion and fellowship is supportive and always extremely informative.
Overall, we have met wonderful people and have heard something inspirational every Sunday. We now have many new friends and a place we call home.
If you are considering new churches in the area, I recommend attending a Sunday sermon. My 13 year old loves the youth services and my 6 year old get excited about his as well. They sing, play games, and worship having a BLAST!

I really like Crossline. They have a little for everyone. My daughter loves going to Sunday school here, which helps me on Sundays. She even likes going to the Wed night kids study.

Crossline Community Church has the best wedding chapel in Southern CA and I highly recommend it for a wedding or other special occasions. The wedding coordinator (Gayla Thompson) is phenomenal. She is very professional and experienced and will put you right at ease as she plans your special day with you. I can’t say enough about this special venue or Gayla. We loved getting married in this beautiful chapel and we loved dealing with Gayla.

I forgot to review this place, but I came here for a wedding awhile back and it was super beautiful! :) I just reviewed St. Andrews, but seriously, this place is GORGEOUS! They have fountains leading up to the sanctuary and the inside of the sanctuary is really pretty, as well as modern. It’s unlike most churches I’ve been to and the setting still feels really intimate, rather than huge.
I haven’t been to the Sunday services here, but the facilities are truly outstanding! They even have a convenient banquet hall where everyone I know who has gotten married here usually holds their reception at. The hall overlooks a stunning lake in Laguna, which just adds to the overall ambiance of this place! Despite the fact that I am not familiar with their preaching, I’m absolutely in love with this place as a wedding venue, which is why it gets a solid 5 stars in my book! :)

Came here for a wedding and it was beautiful! Perfectly fits 250 people, with lake, water decoration, and rose garden. So beautiful for wedding photos! The interior is very contemporary with great lighting. Great place to have a traditional & modern fusion wedding!

I just went to this church which is right around the block from where I live. I found it because I was searching for a certain bus stop. I said a little prayer and took a guess by walking north from Ridge Route. When I got to a pole I found a little pile of change. That was the bus stop! Thank you, Lord!
That was right at the entryway to Crossline Community Church.
A few weeks later I attended. The people were very friendly. The worship music was great Christian indy rock. They played some Starfield songs just like at the church in Bakersfield I was attending. And the message was one about grace. Loved it.
The pastor was funny, informative and really knowledgeable of the Word. He teaches at Biola. He does read a little fast. But I’ll just have to get used to it while I’m around.
I’m going back…

Incredible church with solid biblical teaching. This church met at a high school in Mission Viejo for 5 years and is moving to a large and beautiful campus in Laguna Hills on February 14^th. This location is formerly «Lake Hills Church.» The worship is energetic and there are a lot of young people… it is super easy to connect if you are looking to meet people.
