Elements in Harmony is where the general public can try acupuncture for the first time and see positive and long-​term results. It is our mission to help educate every patient about why Chinese medicine is extremely beneficial for preventive healthcare, as well as the treatment of a patient’s minor to chief complaints. It is important for us to demystify this ancient art and help laypeople understand the simplicity of how acupuncture meridians work and the reason for Chinese herbal efficacies. It is paramount for our patients to have a thorough understanding of why their overall health improves significantly with their acupuncture treatments and Chinese herbal prescriptions because our patients are essentially the best method of advertisement.

Anna N. Dolopo, L.Ac. has been practicing Chinese medicine since 1999. Her practice began in San Diego, which included working and volunteering with the homeless community in Pacific Beach, the HIV/​AIDS community, Samahan Community Medical Clinics in National City and Mira Mesa.

From 2003 – 2006, Anna worked at the Alternative Health Center in Irvine. She then practiced in Laguna Hills from 2006 – 2008. Since January 2009,

Anna has been dedicated to building another highly effective practice

in Lake Forest. Elements in Harmony Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs

accepts patients of all ages and of all health conditions.

As I write this, I am happy to say that I am 39 weeks pregnant. I have had a healthy, pleasant pregnancy and I attribute much of my health and well being during this time to Anna and her healing treatments. She is simply the best!
I found Anna when I was looking for neck stiffness and pain relief. After about 3 treatments, I no longer had any pain symptoms in my neck. Shortly thereafter, I started receiving treatments several times a week for natural fertility since we have had been trying to conceive with history of a couple of miscarriages in the last year. Something I noticed is the hope that filled my heart as I began to receive treatments with Anna. Coupled with her sweet and affirming personality, her treatments were affective in letting go of stress and anxiety about fertility and previous miscarriages. I appreciate that she treats the person as a whole, not just the physical. I looked forward to the treatments because it helped my mind, body and spirit totally relax, heal and let my body do its thing.
She had told me to expect to take a few months to conceive, but to our delightful surprise, I conceived right away within the same menstrual cycle. We were absolutely thrilled. My husband also received treatments simultaneously as well to achieve optimal health and fertility. I believe it was very effective for both of us to get treated for fertility.
After conception, I continued to see her a couple times a week in my first trimester and now in my third trimester to alleviate and keep nausea and other negative pregnancy symptoms to a minimum. Some of the specific things that Anna has helped me with besides a sense of well-​being during this pregnancy is relief from nausea, shoulder joint pain from side sleeping, constipation, and plantar fasciitis.
My husband has continued to see her to reduce aches and pains in his body as well as alleviate symptoms of stress. He has been able to sleep better and deeper at night. One major symptom of stress he was suffering from was tinnitus — ringing in the ears. Within 3 treatments, the tinnitus went away. He eagerly awaits every treatment knowing that he will find pure relaxation and euphoria awaiting him.
If you want to make the most of every treatment, I recommend coming in with an open mind, positive attitude and not limiting what Anna and your body can do to recover from various ailments. Also, what has really helped us fall asleep deeply on the table/​chair is bringing in earplugs rather than listening to your headphones. I fall asleep every time without fail.
We are a firm believer in Anna’s work and the remarkable difference she has made in our lives. She is an incredible resource for natural health. We are thankful she is our acupuncturist, she is an answer to our prayers for a having a baby naturally and a healthy life. I look forward to giving birth to our son soon and sharing how monumental Anna was in his life.

I’ve had a unique opportunity to use Anna’s services in more than one way. Let me start by saying that I am an acupuncturist myself. I have been to Anna as a patient to help me with some nagging hip issues. Hip feels great, and I learned an easy way for me to treat myself as well as my own patients for hip issues. She was even awesome enough to send me home with the protocol she used on me!
I’ve also hired Anna as a consultant. Our sessions have helped me grow both as a practitioner and as a business owner. I’ve adopted tidbits I’ve learned from Anna and it has definitely equated to more income and more successful treatments. I’ve turned to her for help in treating my pregnant wife. As a matter of fact, she is probably one of the first people I’d ask if I came a across an acupuncture or business problem I didn’t know how to handle. She is absolutely no nonsense, no BS, but also super nice and down to earth.
I am lucky enough to be able to call her a mentor. Think of it this way, she is the one OTHER acupuncturists come to. Highly recommended for acupuncture services, obviously, but also for professional/​personal consulting as well!

I will never forget the first time I visited Anna. At the time I was suffering from a severe chemical reaction to some paver sealant I had been working with. My entire body was in severe pain. When I walked through the door I was greeted with a warmth and palpable peace in the air and an adorable night black terrier therapy dog. Ninety percent of the pain I had experienced for four days straight immediately lifted. I was able to sleep that night which was an absolute miracle!
I had to change my diet to only vegetables and fruit. I feel healthy today. I am happy to have found Elements in Harmony Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs. Anna is wise and will help you if you are ready for her council. Anna is a very special person with a wonderfully amazing touch. Two doctors saw me before I met with Anna and basically said they could not help me. They ended up referring me to UCI medical center. Thanks to Anna’s great work I did not have to go to UCI. Anna came highly recommended by several of my friends when I was looking for some help to go into labor prior to a scheduled c-​section. And after meeting Anna, I can understand why everyone loves her! Not only is she super responsive (so important to a mom at 40 weeks pregnant!) but she also makes every effort in scheduling, too. I had never experienced acupuncture before, so I didn’t know what to expect, but Anna made the process simple and painless.
After my first session, I went home and had the most restful sleep of my pregnancy. I went back for another treatment the following evening, and three days later I went into labor! I’m so thankful for Anna’s help in this process.

I am HEALED!!! Anna is awesome! She is very professional and will do a consultation with you if you have any questions or concerns. I love that she does not tell you when you have to come but suggest what would be best and leaves it up to you for how you want to go about your treatment. My story:
I had developed Bell’s Palsy at the end of January. I had paralysis on the right side of my face, could barely close my eye or smile. My face was literally crooked. «This is a temporary thing that should go away in 3 to 6 months on it’s own», is what my doctor said. He said there really isn’t any thing known to help heal. Desperate to not accept that I was told by a few people that acupuncture would be something to try. After researching and reading about acupuncture I was ready to try. I was so happy that a friend who has been and still see Anna recommended her.
I called Anna and she was very professional and sent me email of her website and testimonial on previous patients she treated that had Bell’s Palsy. To my relief I felt so comfortable after seeing all the positive feedback and cure from the testimonials. I knew this was the place for me.
My first visit was great! We treated it aggressively and yes there was a lot of needles but didn’t feel any pain and she was very gentle. After my first treatment the next day I noticed an incredible difference. I was able to close my eye halfway. I would say about 30% better.
My next few visits were just as amazing and within 3 weeks about 4 more visits, I was 100%.
I was able to close my eye all the way and actually smile all the way. All this within 4 weeks!
Anna is a healer and despite what my doctor said, she was able to heal my within a month not 3 – 6 months. I am a believer and I cannot express how much gratitude and happiness I have for her.

Let me begin by saying that Anna is an amazing healer. I originally began seeing her for hormonal imbalances and menstruation issues. She also worked at addressing my thyroid and digestive issues as well. I’ve had digestive issues for as long as I can remember. It has always been a day-​to-​day battle of constant bloating and other gastrointestinal related problems. When I first met with Anna she gave me a new found sense of hope that I was looking for.
I saw Anna for a few months and was very consistent with my treatments. She really helped to address my bloating, thyroid issues, and stress levels. While I was continually seeing her, my bloating decreased substantially! I couldn’t believe it. Unfortunately I stopped attending treatments regularly because I had other financial obligations. Nonetheless, I miss coming in for treatments and receiving great emotional support from Anna. She’s not just a healer, but an awesome support system. There’s a reason I’ve continued to see Anna Dolopo LAc for the last 10+ years (and now I even travel 1 – 2 hours from LA to get to her). She has always made a positive impact in my life, and my physical and emotional health. She has treated me for back pain (as a long-​term result of four fractured vertebrae in a car accident), a pinched nerve (which never once returned), female issues (which sometime required her Chinese herb expertise), anxiety and so much more. I trust her entirely, and if I question whether to use traditional or nontraditional medicine, she’ll work with me to set a plan for either route. How do I explain why I get acupuncture?
Because it works. My answer really is that simple, acupuncture works.
OK walking into an office and knowing I am wiling to be stuck with needles just seems weird, I totally agree. Why go? Because it works.
You probably won’t believe me, you think what you have can’t be helped through acupuncture. I used to think the same way and learned acupuncture can help me and probably can help you as well.
I am not going to list the different issues over the years Anna at Elements in Harmony has fixed, you can read plenty of those on her website and in other Unilocal reviews. I am just going to admit, it works. I know you still don’t believe me, neither did I before going to see Anna. I told her as much at my first treatment and she just smiled and said give it a try That was 7 years ago and I see Anna from time to time when one issue or another pops up in my life.
Why go to Elements in Harmony and not somewhere else? Anna is a gifted healer who understands how bodies work and how acupuncture will work on a body. I am amazed at some of the stories i hear (not from Anna) but other patients in the waiting room about how Anna used acupuncture to help a body heal.
The most common question I get asked (besides do the needles hurt) is how can I be in a room with other people.. I think of all the types of community treatments out there for dialysis or cancer treatments and realize this really is not so different, people in a room being treated. We are all there for the same reason, to get healthy and people respect each other and their space.
…about the needles; yes one or two hurts at times, Anna apologizes if the needle going in hurts (and she means it) but 98% of the time, i don’t even realize where she is putting the needle.
Don’t believe me; go give it a try yourself. If you see me there; ask what I am there for, I don’t mind sharing :)
Simply put, acupuncture works.

I have been a patient of Anna’s for 6+ Years, she has treated me for a number of different aliments. In every instance the results were OUTSTANDING, and I often wish I could make more time to spend on her table.
Anna is the best, plain and simple. I initially went to see her for my Challenging Pregnancy, she managed to alleviate my ALL DAY Sickness so I could gain some much needed weight, she managed the leg cramps, the insomnia, the stress, and best of all — I had a scheduled a C-​Section which she prepared my body for — I left the hospital 1 day early and I never needed anything more than an ibuprofen on day 2. I was running up and down stairs when I got home and never had any issues at all — WHAT A GIFT to have those precious beginning moments to spend with my daughter PAIN FREE.
She has treated me for head aches, shoulder aches, and knee pain — all of these I get tremendous results and after a couple of sessions I couldn’t believe how much better I felt.
She has keep me healthy when I travel and when the rest of my family is sick; more recently I was on and off planes during the Holiday season and I went to see Anna — Before and After my traveling and I didn’t get sick.
Because I have been her patient for so long — I often forget how amazing she is. She know my Energy better than I do. She aligns me so that I function as a BETTER me. Now if anything feels wrong she is the person I visit.
The best thing about her place is that she is more than just your doctor, she is my friend. She spends almost as much time treating me as she does teaching me how I can be a better me, or how to help my daughter when she is not feeling well with homeopathic treatments.
If you’re hesitant about acupuncture, Anna and Elements in Harmony is by far the best place to go. Anna will make you feel totally comfortable and relaxed, plus you’ll walk away more knowledgeable!

I’ve been coming to Anna for a few years for anything ranging from a sore shoulder playing golf, back strain from yoga/​work, wrist injuries from mountain biking to hamstring pulls lifting weights. I was a bit skeptical of Anna’s method at first because I was more accustomed to having needles placed on my problem areas; however, she’s proved to me time and again that it works. Like any medicine, Eastern, Western or otherwise, a positive outlook will take you a long ways in getting healed.
None of this would matter if Anna wasn’t as professional or personable as she is. I feel that Anna is personally vested not only in my best interests, but in the well being of others as well. And for that I am grateful and will continue to seek her expertise.

This is my third review of Anna’s amazing talents as an acupuncturist and healer.
I’ve been a patient of Elements in Harmony Acupuncture for over 6 years. When I first started, I had no expectation of continuing treatment beyond a few sessions. At the time, I had limited experience with «alternative methods» and I didn’t realize that acupuncture could help ALL issues of body, mind, and spirit. To note, when I started seeing Anna, I was a full-​time graduate student also working full-​time, making a measly $ 32k/​yr, living 40+ miles away from Laguna Hills. My point: I was broke, it took effort and money to get to my appointments, and I was crazy stressed out constantly.
What have I learned? That Anna has a talent shared by very few on this planet. I say this as the granddaughter of a highly-​respected M.D. and as someone with exceptionally high standards. Anna’s dedication to my health and to the health of all her patients is second to none. She is both professional and friendly; she is relatable and open. I give heartfelt credit to Anna for helping me through physical issues and emotional matters, as well as helping me develop into a more authentic «me.» Thank you, thank you, thank you, Anna!
Here are a few things from one of my previous reviews that I suggest to any acupuncture newbie:
Needles. I know, I know — you hate needles. I do, too. (Yes, I’m serious!) I’m here to tell you that acupuncture doesn’t hurt. Sure, one needle out of a hundred may sting a bit — but it’s NOTHING like getting a shot. Injection needles are significantly larger and most of the pain is from the fluid, itself, being injected. If you’re truthfully scared, ask Anna to let you try a single needle before you buy a session. She’ll give you some time to try it out — she’s cool like that.
Community sessions. You’ll be in a large room with a handful of other people. Soft music helps drown out any noise created by folks coming or going. You also have the option to wear ear-​buds and listen quietly to your own tunes. Either way, be prepared to meditate or sleep for your time in treatment. Keep in mind, this is very typical of acupuncture — it’s what you’d find in China.
Privacy. Many acupuncturists who offer community sessions usually don’t have a private space where you can share your medical and personal concerns. Anna has a private office where she sees patients before treatment. You are able to discuss your issues without other people knowing your business.
Cost. I’ve done research on acupuncture prices and Anna is significantly less costly than other practitioners. She also offers deals for regular patients. Obviously acupuncture is an investment, but it’s worth the long-​term pay-​off.
Ongoing learning. Every time I visit, Anna tells me about some new thing she’s learned. Whether it’s from a book she’s been reading, a conference she attended, or some breakthrough in alternative medicine, Anna is a true healer — constantly evaluating her current methods and searching for further information to help those who trust her with their care.
If Western medicine can’t (or won’t) help, if you’re sick of being sick, or if you just want better peace of mind, give Anna a try!

Anna worked miracles on both my husband and me. My midwife highly recommended her when in my early pregnancy because of all day ‘morning sickness’ and utter exhaustion, and I continued to see her weekly to help with depression, anxiety, back pain and other pregnancy related issues. She also helped me keep my blood pressure in check in those last weeks, so that I could go on to have the home birth I wanted. I haven’t been back in since having my baby girl, but to be honest I haven’t needed to because the back pain, anxiety and depression hasn’t come back!
After my husband saw my great results he decided to give it a try for the back pain he had struggled with for 10+ years. Needless to say, she worked her magic on him as well and after just 6 or 7 treatments his back no long hurts!
I’m actually looking forward to getting pregnant again because I know that Anna will keep me feeling good throughout.

Anna is extremely gifted acupuncturist. She has helped me with stress, fertility, inducing labor and acute muscle pain. I’ve been to other acupuncturist but few are as effective as Anna.
On a personal level, she is caring and considerate. She takes her time and does her job right. I’ve recommended Anna to family and friends.
Finally, the community acupuncture setting is comfortable and cozy. She always has warm blankets, heated beds, heated stomach pads, or eye covers to make your treatment even better.

I echo most of the reviewers and Anna’s patients here in saying that Anna is a wonderful, caring, professional, and highly competent acupuncturist in the OC area. Last September I was experiencing excruciating shoulder pain that might have resulted from chronic bad posture and overextension from weight training. I was in sharp pains and could not move out of bed. I arrived at Anna’s office in tears after she squeezed me into her busy schedule due to the severity and urgency of my situation. She was able to quickly asses my conditions and began her treatment. It is important to understand that most pains, especially chronic ones, require several intensive sessions of treatment before any observable changes can happen. My pain started to become more tolerable after the second treatment. I continued treatment with Anna at a twice a week to once a week frequency, each time about 1 hour to 1.5 hours (as she graciously encouraged me to stay as long as her schedule allowed for the needles to penetrate more deeply into the points), for 8 treatments in total. During this time, because I was dealing with a severe back pain, my immune system was down and I caught a bad cold. Anna was able to integrate both treatments of shoulder pain and my horrible coughs and shortened the length of time it required for me to recover from the cold.
There are many different approaches to acupuncture, and Anna practices Dr. Tan’s method in which the practitioner does not insert needles directly into the spots of pain. Instead, the practitioner, with their understanding and appreciation of the holistic nature of the human body, utilizes needles in different parts of the body in a corresponding and balanced way. I am not a professional in acupuncture, but I am a mental health practitioner and I appreciate Anna’s approach, professionalism, and genuine care for her expertise and her patients. I also appreciate that she takes efforts to do a thorough initial consultation/​assessment before starting her treatment with a new patient, as this is extremely crucial for any kind of healthcare profession to remain ethical and effective. Anna also maintains an open communication with her patients, and does not hesitate to modify her treatments based on the patient’s needs. I highly recommend Anna and encourage potential customers to give her a try, with understanding that the more severe or chronic pains will definitely take a longer time before healing becomes noticeable. No magic pills are dispensed here, and that is not what Anna is offering. What she offers is patient, consistent, and genuine care that can go a long way when needed.

I approached acupuncture with skepticism. I didn’t «believe» it could really work. But I found myself in a situation where I really didn’t want to use medication. I was 40 weeks pregnant and I didn’t want to be medically induced. So I went to Anna. After one session I had my child the next afternoon… but I still didn’t «fully» believe. I mean, maybe it was a fluke?
I then developed a bad case of grinding my teeth during sleep. I had to wear an uncomfortable mouth guard, had daily headaches and jaw pain. Again, I didn’t want to use prescribed medicines to «relax» «calm down» or «sleep deeper». I went in for 3 treatments in a one week span (an aggressive schedule for me). I slept amazingly! I went to see Anna with a horrible pain in my right shoulder, not able to move my neck, and scared.
Anna is the most professional, kind, honest and willing to do more for her people.
This is my second time coming to see her, and I highly recommend her. The driving is worth when you get to work with such of amazing person like her.
