Massage Square Spa

I consistently receive the best messages in the area at this location and have never been disappointed. Each masseuse is competent, professional, and courteous. Can’t beat the quality and the price here and would highly recommend Massage Square Spa to everyone. I even bring my kids here when they visit!

This was by far the best massage I have experienced. I did the $ 59 body scrub/​massage and my boyfriend had the $ 70 90 minute deep tissue massage. I felt calm, relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire duration. The rooms appeared clean and well kept, the towels were nice, big & soft, the staff is very attentive and the massage therapist are very skilled/​talented. We will absolutely return frequently!!!

Weak massages. No focus on where the knots were. Basically felt like a child’s hand rubbing spaghetti on my back.

I’ve been into this spa twice now and have had two amazing experiences. Jenny at the front is very sweet and accommodating, and both my massage therapists Alan and CC have been excellent. I’ve had probably over 200 massages in my life (I worked for Massage Heights and Envy for a combined 4 year period of time) and this place has impressed me MUCH MORE than expected. I’ve done the 80 minute sessions each time and will be back soon for another! 5 stars

I have had numerous massages throughout the world. Today i had one of the very best! The staff is amazing. My boyfriend and I were welcomed with grace and a smile… in spite of two very rude girls who arrived after we did. They were rude, claiming they arrived first and had an appointment… neither of which were true. The front desk manager was kind and did everything she could to assist these very rude girls while at the same time taking care of us.
We cannot wait to returm for another wonderful, rrelaxing massage.

The worst. My sister and I walked in with another couple behind us. The lady in the front desk thought the couple behind us was first and set them up with an appointment. She asked my sister and I to come back. Her incompetence was so frustrating we left. Don’t waist your time.

I would give six stars for Susan, she had a lot of skill getting out knots.
Would definitely come back.

I’m a local and they always fix all those sore muscles in my back, and the service is excellent.

This is still the best massage place around! I now have had a favorite weekly guy, for the last few months Marty, who finds my knots and knows just how to knead and stretch them. He always asks if I’m OK when it hurts, but I know it needs to hurt to fix my very tight back and neck from years of a physical job. He works very hard at what he does, but I also agree that it would be a great improvement to keep the hot towels in the room, and maybe a candle or simple aroma therapy would make it perfect for all the senses. I love this place!

They saved me! I went tearing in there at 9:30 pm and they close at 10. I was suffering from the absolute worst headache ever and had been out and about for some time. It just kept getting worse. My son was in the car with me and I was concerned I was going to upset him because I was about to vomit. I had been here before and thought it was worth a shot so I went in and told them the situation. Although they were about to close they took me in and the therapist did her magic. It helped so much and especially since I invaded on them at closing. Definitely above and beyond!

I had a great experiences here… It was clean, private, and I left feeling relaxed. It’s very reasonably priced, and the massage therapists work very hard a deserve good tips, especially for how hard they work. They ask if the pressure is okay, and if it’s too deep, they back off some. I really enjoyed it and will definitely go back!

I come here as often as I can! I completely love it! Foot massages with any one has been great here and coco for full body massage ($ 35) was awesome! I’ve lived in singapore and went all over china and this is authentic style reflexology. Super clean, I feel like family here :) This will be your spot! Give it a try

After all the massages I’ve received over the years At other places, I continue to visit this location. From my skills trainers and therapists in college, luxury massages and international massages around the world.
I recommend everyone let the front desk receptionist know your needs before you begin your treatment. This has worked wonders for me.
I always tip beforehand and make sure it’s at least 25% or more. I let the front desk know my hamstrings are in distress from my High Intensity Interval Training and this message is always relayed to the therapist.
Great prices, professional, friendly and great for recovery.

The great thing about this place is that you can get same day appointment even if you’re requesting your regular masseuse. The relaxing and clean atmosphere soothes my aches after a hard day at work!

The first time I went here was mediocre at best with just as mediocre pricing.
The second time I went was the worst experience I have ever had at a massage. Before the massage began, I clearly told the masseuse to only do my lower body. She didn’t seem to understand English very well so I explained again as clearly as possible. Then the massage begins and what does she do? She massages along my spine for 40 minutes. I didn’t even bother telling her again. Not only this, but it was the worst massage I have ever received. I have gotten real deep tissue and sports massages from real therapists before. I know it’s supposed to hurt. But this was just straight up wrong. She would press her elbow into my shoulder blades and essentially try to pull my arm out of its socket. None of this is helped at all and was extremely painful. When we were done, she walked me to the front. She stood in front of me and was obviously waiting for me to tip her. Despite this being a terrible experience, I still tipped her 10%. What does she do in response? Takes the money, looks at my wallet, sees I have more money, says «oh» and puts her head down and walks away. No thank you. No smile. The service was garbage and I do not recommend this place at all.

I’m going to have to disagree with the overall rating for Massage Square Spa. I did not like the massage I was given. The next day, I was in discomfort, to the extent that I had to take Ibuprofen. That didn’t help much.
The massage was inexpensive. The payment and tip is taken before the massage. There is a $ 2 fee for using a credit card.
I thought the massage was strange compared to other ones I’ve had. In the beginning, there is a sheet over you and the massage is done over the sheet. The sheet was taken off later. I wouldn’t come back here or recommend this place.

Overall great value for what you pay for. $ 40 (before tips) for an hour-​long «Combination massage», which translates to a whole-​body massage in a private room.
Looking for a last minute massage, I was thankful to know Massage Square accommodates those requests, of course upon availability. I called them around noon to request a massage four to five hours later on a weekend. But for sure, be sure to make an appointment.
As for the massage itself, it sufficed– by no means is it bad, but by the same token, it likely won’t be the best massage you’ve gotten. If you like deep tissue or sports massage like I do (no pain no gain!), then it may not be the place for you. But the result is still decent– it felt like a lighter version of a sports massage and for $ 40, I don’t have too much to complain about =)

I enjoyed my experience at Massage Square Spa!
I called at about 5:30pm on a Tuesday and asked if they had any last minute openings for that evening for an 80 minute massage. They said yes and to be in by 6pm. I was so happy!
I came in and was greeted right away. The receptionist did make me pay for my massage and leave the tip before I was even taken back to the room — which I found to be weird and annoying since the amount tip I leave depends on the service. But whatever. An 80 minute massage was $ 45 and I did leave $ 15 for the tip — they do charge you an extra $ 2 if you pay with a credit or debit card (which I thought was a rip off, I mean I am paying over $ 50 with tip!). Next time I may bring in cash.
I was taken to my room right away after I paid. The room was dim with relaxing music playing. About five minutes after I was taken back, the lady who was doing my massage came in. She was wonderful! The only time she really spoke to me was when she asked if the pressure was ok, or if I needed it harder or lighter. I wish I could remember the name of the lady who did my massage because she was wonderful. She definitely worked out my kinks in my back and my sore legs. I almost fell asleep it was so good! My only gripe about the massage is she did leave the room twice to get towels to wipe off the lotion/​oil she used after she was done with my back and my legs. I found it to be distracting and I wish they had the towels in the room. Other then that, the massage sure hit the spot!
I would come back to Massage Square the next time I’m craving a massage! They are open late (10pm I believe) for all of us who work until later.

Came here for the first time today, and I was impressed! I’m used to the cheaper massages, where you share a room with others, and you keep your clothes on. but this one was nicer. For $ 35 (combination massage), you get a full body massage without your clothes on! My massage was awesome. perfect pressure and my masseuse knew my troubled spots. I will definitely be coming back! So glad I found a spot near me for massages =)
** UPDATE: I came here with my husband last week, and we got the upgraded massage ($ 45 for 80 minutes). During our massage, our masseuse went to retrieve hot towels twice, and took forever getting the hot towels (probably 4 minutes off our massage each time). Our massage also ended 8 minutes early! We got jipped out of 15 minutes =(I tried to tell our masseuse but they couldn’t really understand me. I was going to mention it to the head lady, but my husband said it’s okay. I wish I had mentioned it though, b/​c that’s a lot of minutes! I was sad. Too late now. I still like the massage, so I will probably come back and give them another chance, but I’ve downgraded my rating after my last experience.

I walked all over Chinatown SF in heels. So I got paid off with slight calf/​heal/​toe pain the next day. I decided to give Massage sqaure spa a try. I was so happy that I finally found a good Chinese massage guy who gave foot and body massage in an amazing way for an awesome price!
$ 20 for 40 minutes (30 min for foot and 10 for neck/​shoulder/​arms). Alan did 20 minutes on upper body and 20 minutes on my legs). He gave wonderful scalp massage. I should have gotten the full body massage ($ 40 for 60 minutes no foot massage). I highly recommend Alan.
They accept credit card, however they charge $ 2 per transaction. Bring cash if you want to avoid those charges. They do have shower rooms and they charge $ 5 for use unless you got their sugar/​salt scrub service.
