I have been coming here for about three years now. They office has the most current technology. The doctors explain everything to do with your eye health, they answer all your questions, and take good care of you. The office staff is extremely attentive and friendly. They have up to date frames to choose from. I do recommended Dr. Griffins office to anyone who is looking for a new eye doctor.

My last eye exam was with Lenscrafters and received progressive glasses that I returned. They did not work for me. So, this time, I thought I would step up a grade and go to Griffin Optometric Group. During my exam, I was very clear with the optometrist that progressives did not work. I also made it very clear that I in my profession, I am working on a computer all day doing legal research and drafting documents. Low and behold, she recommends progressives. When I tell the gal I was hesitant to invest in them, and my past experience I am told their glasses are «blended» differently and I would notice a big difference. The cost of the glasses were $ 1,123.00. Yes, for eye glasses !!! When I tried them on, I told her I did not like them and was told to wear them for a few weeks, which I did. I just returned them and the gal helping me was not her friendly self as she was when I was buying them. Today, she was rather rude. I was told they would make either reading or distance glasses, but the difference that I paid out of pocket for progressives would not be reimbursed to me. What kind of customer service is this — they are the professionals and this is what they recommended. So, in theory, I paid the money to take the risk on progressives when I informed them out the outset they did not work for me. Potential customers beware. They are all about making the money and not customer service. Ironically, a lady sitting next to me heard my conversation and said the same thing happened to her. She had to return her progressives and fight for a full refund. Her comment was — you stand firm because they are full of BS.

Walked in last minute to make an appointment for another day, ten minutes before closing time) and they squeezed me in that evening for an appointment for a painful eye. I saw T. Powers Griffin and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was very thankful for the last minute appointment. The front desk was very kind as well. Will definitely return if need be!

First time customer, my appointment was set for 1:00pm, I sat in the lobby until 1:25, then like winning the lottery they call my name to move the smaller room. I spend about 10 minutes in the second room where they scam you on the Fundus Photography service (more on that later). On to the third room (Still no Optometrist), and you wait, and wait, and wait, now it’s after 2:15 (still haven’t met the Optometrist). Finally, he comes in gives me a quick 15 minutes and I’m out of there. Amongst the many documents they have you fill out is agreement for a Fundus Photography (picture of your eye via a standard Cannon Digital Camera) ($ 68). Only at the end when you receive the bill do you realize it’s optional, not covered by insurance and unnecessary. When I questioned the charge I could tell they receive objection a lot because she had this prepared response, pulling up my signature «Oh, did you sign this page?». Anytime a business has a process for nickel and diming you is a sign that there is always more scams you can’t see. There are far too many Optometrist in the area to risk being scammed again.

It’s hard to find that personal touch when it comes to medical care nowadays. In my search for excellent eye care I looked at all of the local chain optometrists. If you want to feel like a number visit one of those. If you want to feel like an actual patient that has a doctor that will care for you, then Griffin Optometric is the place to go. Dr. Powers Griffin is one of the best optometrists I’ve ever known. Besides the fact that he’s friendly, personable and goes beyond every time I’m with him, he is also an extremely skilled doctor and will be able to handle all of your eye care needs. The Laguna Niguel office is stylish inside, and I always leave feeling better than when I went in. I would highly recommend Griffin Optometric to anybody in the South Orange County area. I know people who drive from as far as Long Beach to visit Dr. Griffin!

The staff is well organized and efficient, and Dr Powers is professional yet approachable and friendly. Almost every year I get my eyes looked at and my prescription updated here. And I’ve been coming here for years. The staff are top notch and the docs spend above average time with patients. It’s very much a family atmosphere.
Now, they are not the least expensive option. And one has to believe they are getting what they pay for. Here, I get that feeling. You can sit in a waiting room full of flu symptoms at your nearest Big Box store, or you can come here and be treated like somebody special. And I can pretty much guarantee those Big Box stores don’t sell my fave Maui Jim’s.
Even though I now drive much further than when I first started, I still feel it’s worth the trouble and expense.
I’ll be back again next year

Dr. Tracy Paul is perfect! She is warm, smart, welcoming, friendly, informative… just an all around great person.
The front desk staff were down to earth and helpful. The frame and lenses rates are competitive and they have a variety of frame styles and brands. I purchased Paul Frank sunglasses w/​polarized lenses for $ 198 (w/​VSP insurance).

If longevity means anything to those of you trying to decide if this is a good place to come for your MOST important exam — your eyes, than I would have to say 29+ years is a LIFETIME of great experiences! The exams are complete (you get every type of checkup imaginable!), the staff, of course, has changed over the years, but the brothers Griffin and their associates have always been professional and caring! Their inventory of frames is unrivaled — every designer, style, color and quality to fit your needs! If I ever move … I’ll just have to come back here no matter what!
