My dog Whiskey and I love this place! The service is excellent, employees are friendly, and prices competitive! They are all animal lovers here and you can be sure your dog is in great hands. The owners are wonderful people and always accommodate all customers as I’ve observed, and their commitment to quality and satisfaction is truly unparalleled. But the services themselves are the best I’ve ever seen/experienced…My puppy has been to so many different groomers all across SoCal– from SF to SD– and none come close to the grooming care and service I get each time I come to John Paul Pet Salon.
Great location, awesome staff and top quality service! You will NOT be disappointed. I commute an hour sometimes just to make sure my dog gets the best complete bath, and it’s so worth it! He doesn’t shed for almost 2 weeks and I don’t even get the de-​shedding wash. Not to mention he smells great, looks great and I can tell he feels great. Their work is just that thorough and impeccable! You’ll never have your dog groomed anywhere else once you try this place out for yourselves.

I bring my dog Deuces to get groomed here. He’s usually done in 3 hours. Many appointments are available and the staff is so nice to him. Deuces had to be at his previous groomer minimum of 5 hours!

I took my little Pomeranian to get a mini makeover and I have got to tell you! They did such a great job!!! I am definitely coming back! It was reasonably priced too! Thank you so much for making my Louie Pom look so cute!

My dog looks and feels great every time he gets groomed here. His coat is shiny and super fluffy and soft. The prices are the same as when we used to take him to petco, but they def use better products here.
The groomers know what they’re doing and they treat the animals well.

Great experience!!! The receptionist and the staff were very welcoming to our Lahso Apso, Sherman. Our entire family loved his new hair cut. Will definitely go back again for another «Celebrity» hair cut. Thank you John PaulSalon.

They take cats! My Persian who gets a modified lion-​cut always does so well with them and comes back feeling and smelling like a king.

Love taking our little Dextie to John Paul Pet Salon! Staff always do a fantastic job! There groomers are very skilled our dog always looks amazing when he comes home!!!

We are very impressed with John Paul Pet Salon. We took our Coton here for a full treatment and loved the way he looked. Staff was great and the hours of service are perfect. We even decided to take our greyhound for a bath and nail trim. He has never had a bath outside of our home. We were not sure how he would do but the staff is so good they made him feel comfortable and he looked like a champ.

We love this doggie salon and our furry baby, Hazel, always comes back lookin’ fly! We’ve tried other groomers but this is our favorite by far. We always get the «Celebrity Style» which includes shampoo, nails clipped, haircut, and teeth brushed. The women working the desk and the stylists are always super sweet and they cut Hazel as requested. They also put notes into the computer so they know which cut we like for the next time. As far as I can tell, they treat the dogs well and I never hear dogs crying or see them mistreating them (and I watch too!). I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good groomer.

Donna is an amazing first class groomer with outstanding customer service skills. The majority of the cut is with scissors as I would expect with this salon. Since Donna stopped cutting we are getting a botched razor cut I would not expect with this salon. In addition, the management is horrible. He has no business being in front of the public, is rude and chastises his groomers in the store. Since they have failed to make a management change and improve the level of the grooming, they have lost our business as well as two other households on our block. Shame on them for keeping horrible and rude management. I am not sure he likes dogs or women.

Love this groomer! Wouldn’t take my 3 anywhere else! Very professional and friendly people! The dogs love going there, unlike other groomers they’ve been too!

Good groomers are hard to find and John Paul is fantastic! I have been bringing my havachon here for a couple years and they do a great job every time!

Great service. All the staff are really friendly. We are fussy about where we take our boys and we feel really happy brining them to this salon. We are pretty fussy and the girls never make us feel bad when we give instructions on the cut we require. Would recommend

I had been taking my male Maltese (Holmes) to the Crown Valley location and was always happy with both their service and with each employee who had been working on my dog. Everything was fine until one day when I came in with my dog for grooming. I met up with the owner (Saeed) at the front desk and hee was very rude and did not talk well to the clients who were there and had a lot to say about those who had just walked out of the location. When he finally met with me at the front desk and I was checking in my dog for his appointment, he still had a surly attitude. Even after I mentioned that I had been coming to this location for a long time, he had a chip on his shoulder and was still rude with me. This upset my daughter so much that she would not drop or pick up my dog for fear of having to meet up with him again. When I again met up with him a few months later, his disrespect for clients had not changed and I felt that I needed to stop going there. He was very rude to me again.
I then began to take my dog to the Lake Forest location where I found out that Donna, my dog’s groomer was now working. She had always done such a fine job on my Holmes that I was happy to stay with John Paul’s as long as I did not need to mix up with that other owner from the Crown Valley location.
To my surprise, when I called Lake Forest last month to make an appointment with Donna the same rude owner was there and remembered me. Again he was very rude and said, «I remember you, and didn’t you come to the other location?» He put me on hold for a long time and then found reason not to make an appointment for me with Donna and said to call back.
It was then that I felt that this was not somewhere that I wanted to do business with. There are other grooming businesses that can do the same job and not be rude to me when I call or come in to pay money for a service to keep their business going. With the type of cocky attitude that he shows to his customers, this man should not mix with the public and has no business being at the front desk or on the telephone.

You tried to put a good spin on my review but never addressed the main problem! There is a very rude man with a cocksure, arrogant attitude who claims to be the owner, working with customers that call and enter the business. I have always been happy with the other employees and the services given to my Holmes but this insulting man is not someone I care to do business with and the reason for my not returning. Many others I know have also said the same thing about him too and this will hurt your business. Adding your two cents with kind words about bad reviews does not make up for the crass treatment given by the owner.
Oh ya by the way, because of my little dogs heart problem I would bath/​brush him myself. So when I would bring him in the service would only be for a clip which took less than 30 minutes. My daughter or I would wait there for him. The cost was high but I did feel that my baby was worth it.

The owner is a bomb ready to go off at you., if you have any issues or questions about their service, watch out. He has a very bad temper, stay clear of this man.
First incident with him was when I returned a very expensive harness that broke. My little maltese is not a chewer nor does she keep the harness on unless we are together. It just broke one day while walking.
The next incident was an ear issue. When I called about it, the owner yelled so loud at me on the phone, that my assistant could hear him and was like OMG who is this person?
The only thing that I can say positive is the person who worked on my dog seemed very caring and thoughtful.
I will miss the groomer, but I will never go back to the salon. The owner is in much need of anger management therapy. Get some help or go to a business that requires no interaction!

Been coming to this location for over 2 years now. All of the stylists are very professional and listen to what you need and want for your pet. Appts are pretty easy to get and the $$ is reasonable. Affordable spa day for your pup!

I am so dissapointed about this place, I used to take my princes to the one in lake forest and this lady used to do a good job YEAHH! THEY ARE EXPENSIVE !!! but considering my dog is my everything I didn’t care. I Asked them to do a lamb cut which is shorter on the body and half an inch longer on the legs. When I came to pick her up she was shaved !!! my Lola is a shih tzu and they cut her beard so short she looked like a troll :(
They shaved her body but they didnt even shaved her evenly she has some spots where he hair is longer than others whomever worked on her didnt know what she was doing. They also messed up and shaved her tail. On top of that they charged me $ 70 and asked me for a tip. Are you freaking kidding me??? I am never going back. There is one lady there who is experience and I honestly thought she will do a good job but I found out the hard way. She probably gave the job to a dog sitter instead to a groomer.

I strongly recommend John Paul Pet Salon in Laguna Niguel! After many years of having large dogs groomed at several Salons, I have finally found a place that will take care of all my dogs needs in one visit. I have two Labradoodles that require detailed grooming maintenance and I am very picky! Finally, a place that doesn’t have stinky dog shampoo and finally, a place that listens to my grooming requests while completing all details. Worth every penny:)
