Laguna Niguel Racquet Club

I have been attending the Raquet club for years. I started playing tennis with the owner when I was five years old. Mark Spearman and tennis pro, Hector shaped me to be a great competitive and fair tennis player. The Raquet club is a family and I would recommend it to anyone willing to make friends and get involved! The Raquet club is the best!

The employees are very welcoming and great with questions and information. Booking a court here is easy, they are always helpful with finding us a court. There is a full bar, many different fitness classes and child care available. They have salt water pools at both locations. The club has a lot to offer with junior programs, leagues, different tennis round robins and clinics! There are many tennis pros that are great and easily available for privates. There are always many different social events to be apart of!

Laguna Niguel Racquet Club is a fabulous club that has it all! They have a fantastic tennis program for juniors as well as adults, a well appointed gym with free weights, machines, treadmills, and elliptical machines! There are a variety of classes to participate in from TRX conditioning, Zumba, yoga, spin classes for those bicycle enthusiasts, a beautiful pool for the swimmers, sauna’s and well equipped men’s and ladies locker rooms! There are knowledgeable personal trainers to assist you in your athletic goals too!
We have been members for over 15 years and one of the most innovative additions to the club has been the Bodies By Snow Bootcamp and the addition of the thick blue mat for the classes! The Bootcamp is a full body workout for all levels of Fitness! The newly installed mat will protect our bodies from injury and take away the stress from pounding on the hard wood floor that is underneath! The mat has been such a necessary addition to keep us injury free! I appreciate that Laguna Niguel Racquet Club is a leader in the fitness arena and is always seeking to update their facility to stay current and up to date with the changing times!

I have been so happy being part of the Zumba LNRC family for the past 6 years, but today I had to quit my membership. The club had intended to do away with all dance classes, but it kept the secret from its members so they can collect a few more months of membership fees. Can you imagine walking into the dance class this morning just to find out they have placed a wall to wall 2 inch thick matt in the studio? These mats are designed to benefit only the Bootcamp class as they would also disgust the yoga people. I’m very disappointed and no longer want to work out in a place where the matts will soon be filthy, sweaty, smelly and full of mites. Unless you only plan to play tennis here, it is time to dance and work out elsewhere.

The club is awesome! There are lots of courts, a respectable gym, pool, sauna, jacuzzi and bar with food, healthy smoothies and alcohol. I’ve been a member for 26 years and it’s still my go-​to place. The owners also own Monarch Beach racket club and Racket Club of Irvine (RCI) so you can get a membership to all 3 clubs for a reduced rate as well. There are lots of classes and a good group of players to hit with of all levels. Few people know the club better than I do, and I highly recommend it. Some of the negative reviews seem to be shortsighted or inaccurate: the club is open until 9pm during the week, is rarely closed, and the gym equipment is better than my luxury apartments’ gym that I’m paying much more for. The lights on the courts could be a little better and the club tournaments made a bit bigger, but that’s nitpicking.
Overall: lots of courts, lots of amenities, there’s food/​drinks, ample parking, friendly staff and lots of classes/​lessons. 5 stars and it’s definitely the best racket club in the area

Three in a half years ago, we moved to OC and joined LNRC and it immediately became a home away from home. The owners, pros and staff are professional, helpful and always friendly. There are numerous fitness classes, tennis clinics, tournaments, leagues and other ways to connect you with other players at your level. We have made lots of friends through this Club and we highly recommend LNRC !!!

This club has it all! Tennis, junior tennis, workout classes, spin, personal trainers, great gym, locker rooms, sauna, steam room and child care. The staff is friendly and they also have a grill that has healthy smoothies. The summer camp is amazing for kids! Both my kids attended for several years.

they have been having issues with the water heaters but have not made efforts to fix them ! Nothing worse after working out and not being able to rinse off and having to drive home stinky!

I don’t write many reviews but LNRC is way overdue as it’s impacted my life immensely. For the past 20 years, LNRC has been my second home. It all started when my parents signed me up for the annual tennis summer camp as a young kid (8 years old). 10 years later I accepted a scholarship offer to a NCAA D-​1 Tennis program. The programs at LNRC are top-​notch and the management is amazing. You really feel like family at all the Spearman Clubs because it’s a family run business. You don’t get that family/​community feeling at any of the other fitness/​tennis clubs in Orange County. Trust me.
As a young adult (27) my wife and I love the addition of the grill/​bar. We often grab a beer or two after open court doubles on Thursday (Local IPAs on tap!). Also, the membership dues are very reasonable for a premier fitness/​tennis club in Orange County. I’m going to be a lifelong member and looking forward to many more memories at LNRC!

This review is for the use of the tennis courts. I accompanied my friend here who him is a member for a two hour session of tennis. The courts themselves are not bad but average. There are no cracks, unevenness, or problems with the paint. The nets is intact, and the surrounding fence has adequate wind blockage. Things that are missing that is expected from a club of this caliber is water in the courts in coolers and drinking cups. There should also be shade provided in the sitting areas. Otherwise these courts provide the average amenity for a good tennis game. The rest of the club is also good for its age. It could use some upgrades from it’s 19 70s looks. The indoor gym was actually impressive and has all the equipments and free weights needed to compete with most other average gyms. The pool is kind of sad, but But adequate for a couple of laps… I have not had the food here but according to my friend it is average at best. The location is convenient with adequate parking, and the staff is nice and helpful

While the staff is friendly and helpful, the facility is terribly outdated. Shower temperature is not consistent and runs from scalding to freezing with no movement of the dial. The Men’s steam room is out of service as much as in service and the ownership refuses to run the Air conditioning in the heat of the summer. The locker room consistently has excess water pooled all over the floor and about ¹⁄₃ of the combination lockers are typically non serviceable. Fitness equipment is pretty good, however there are often several pieces of equipment out of service at a given time. The club is clearly run with a lack of necessary capital for improvements so the «Band-​Aid» approach seems to be taken in all cases.

We got the family membership to both Laguna Niguel Racquet Club combined with Tennis Club at Monarch Beach 1.5 years ago. We were all new to tennis and we liked that there are a lot of instructors with varying styles to work while finding your own.
Ironically there’s a club closer to our house, but this club seemed to have a bigger player base as well as daily match arranging. This is huge if you’re busy and you just want to be able to show up and have a game. There’s also a gym and heated pool/​Jacuzzi at each club that we use quite frequently on hot days.
I’ve read in previous reviews about the dated locker rooms. There has been renovation of the showers in the men’s locker rooms at each club since I’ve joined. They do a good job of keeping fans going at all times for air flow, but let’s face it, it’s a locker room at an athletic club.
Last, if you have little kids, there’s child care every single day from 8:30−1pm and also during the week from 4:30 — 7:30. No cost of you’re a family member, so you can get your tennis, gym, swim on.
Long story short, it’s a great pair of clubs to join if you’re active.

LNRC has been like a second home to my family. We have been members for twenty years! My boys grew up there from going to the daycare while I played tennis to going to their tennis camps, taking lessons from excellent pros and finally going off to play college tennis. This is a great family club with something to offer everyone!

If you want to exercise and have fun while making friends and acquaintances all at once, this club is for you. You can find something different to do everyday and you don’t even have to be a tennis player. The coaches and teachers are the best!

LNRC is a great family fitness center and tennis club. There really is something for everyone there. The courts are newly resurfaced and in perfect condition. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Luis at the Top Spin Bar and Grill is the best! He is a wonderful cook and has daily food and drink specials that are always changing!

Just a quick update on this club. Since we really like the RIPPED class and like classes with Dina we decided to stay just for the classes as we also made friends with the class regulars– nice change from tennis, biking, swimming and other exercises we engage in elsewhere.
The place is still dirty, the towels rough so we bring our own and equipment aging (never enough weights, yoga balls are deflated in class, etc) but again we just come in for the class twice a week and leave.
Most of the staff in LN is very friendly (especially the younger team upfront) and Dina is fantastic. There is one female trainer who is absolutely the most unfriendly, miserable and insecure woman I have met. In my opinion it is not a good image for the club.
I played tennis here few times but prefer the Monarch location much better.
Love the RIPPED class (Karina is really great instructor also Dina with Zumba) and that is the ONLY reason I signed up for this place. The facilities are very run down, dirty bathrooms, towels and garbage in locker rooms, the spray bottles with hair spray, lotion, etc.(not that I use them but tried once) do not work as the bottles are too old and the stuff just dried up. I really wish with as many members they have and as much money they make they would give the facilities a «facelift».
We will see how long I will end up paying $ 8 per class once I have to worry if I catch something from the locker room.

Three clubs when you do the affiliate membership– Laguna Hills, Dana Point, and Irvine. Pro-​shop, open courts, lots of tennis programs and pros to choose from, a full weight and cardio gym, studio programs like yoga, cycling, bootcamp, etc. Ideal Sunday: play a few sets, swim a few laps or stretch in a yoga class, then hit the sauna and showers.

Don’t join this club! The owners are so cheap. The gym and spin equipment is in constant need of repair and cleaning. Members are always getting injured due to negligence and poor maintenance of the gym and tennis courts. The inside of the clubhouse is sad, smelly and tired looking. There are a few really nice employees, but there are better places in the community to work out.

During the summer time, Kids from Dana Hill High school were playing Tennis, They swim & get engage with other activities as well.
