Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors

Food is delicious and staff very friendly. The girl in the front was taking orders in the front, on the phone, and running for food all by herself but she was working hard and staying on top of it. If a customer would go up to the counter she would stop to smile and ask how she can help, regardless of doing 3 things at once. I didn’t have to wait long for her to take my order but she still apologized for the wait. She greeted everyone with a smile. She apologized for the weight to everyone waiting for food. I could tell she was a little stressed running all around but she always had a smile and was nice. I understand things happen and you can be short staffed, not her fault. She was very professional and friendly the whole time which makes overlooking the little bit longer wait time much easier. I had no problem waiting. Will definitely come back if I’m in the area again.

I like to eat healthy so I was never a huge fan of Pick Up Stix but I decided to stop here on my lunch break to try a salad. I had the Chopped Asian Vinaigrette salad to-​go and I was blown away! It is easily one of the best salads I have had in a while. The ingredients were fresh and the grilled chicken had so much flavor. Bonus points for having my order ready in less than 10 minutes. I will have to add this location to my lunch rotation.

I’ve been coming here for years and they still provide 5 star restaurant service. Delicious food, great customer service all at a low cost. Great job guys!

My husband ordered House Special chicken, KunPao Chicken and Egg rolls. He pick them at the store and when I served my self the KunPao Chicken the food was full of zucchini, peanuts and watercress minimum amount of chicken. We called the restaurant and were encountered with the answer that chicken was pre-​portioned and there is nothing they can do and if we need to complain call the corporate office.
I don’t mind paying a just price for food as long it tastes good, looks good and it’s the fair quantity. But your prices have gone increasingly up, the quality of your food is poor and the portions or servings have decreased substantially. And the only reason we keep frequenting your restaurants is because my Daughter likes your so called HOUSE SPECIAL CHICKEN and you’re the most conveniently located to our house.
I am not writing this expecting anything in return, rather for you to review your company’s mission and revise your food preparation techniques and portioning.

You have to know what to order. I recommend:
1. Combination fried rice
2. House chicken special with brown rice
3. Thai curry chicken with brown rice

Love coming to pick up sticks best place around foods always fresh people are so friendly and really do care about how your doing and getting the best customer service possible. I recommend there wonton soup for those soup lovers its delicious and healthy.

Alfredo is just the best greeter and has wonderful suggestions. He let us sample 2 different dishes so we could find what was right for us. I will go back here because of the cashier more than because of the food. The food is good too though!

Twice now, 2^nd time was accident and hunger desperation… beef and chow mein, like eating a bowl of hard to chew sugar coated beef and piping hot noodles… good luck eating

I stopped by here for lunch and ordered the Kung Pao Chicken lunch with white rice. My lunch was prepared quickly and brought to my table. It was good could have used more chicken and a little less sauce and that is why the four star rating. Cream Cheese wontons came with my lunch and apparently were just made since they were the temperature of the sun and when I took a bite the cream cheese bonded to my gums like molten lava. I guess I get the dumbass award today for that one.

Now that I’ve been rating businesses on Unilocal for many years it’s hard to give a quick eats restaurant a 5-​star review. I still frequent this location regularly — especially on Wednesday (Wonton Wednesday is the best deal ever).
I’m a member of their email and text program and usually take advantage of their specials so that we can have a dinner and then use the leftovers for lunch the next day.
This location is great about making substitutions (although some will cost you a bit more). For instance they will give you soft noodles (low mien) for an up charge and they offer brown and white rice with their entrees.
Items can be made spicier or less spicy depending on your taste and desire — just ask. Service is pretty speedy — especially if you call ahead. Prices are moderate for take out and they close pretty early (8 pm I think). Good quality but plenty of choices. Definitely take advantage of the specials in the emails — it makes everything more affordable and affordability makes take out taste better.

The house special chicken is really good. I always come here because it is local and I get the kids meal that comes with crispy honey chicken or house special chicken with brown or white rice and a wonton or oranges with a fortune cookie. I always get white meat with the house special chicken (crispy honey chicken is already white meat).
Less than $ 5 for a good portion-​control meal. Not the healthiest but I do feel less guilty for ordering a small kids meal.
Alfredo is really nice. He is always striking a non-​pick-​up-​stix related conversation with me about my day/​weekend.

Received couple of coupons and checked out Pick up Stix. It was so-​so. Ordered their Family pack ($ 25). Portion size was enough for two people. Small portions of rice, chow mein and 2 entrees. Firecracker chicken was crispy, tasted good but overly greasy. Chow mein, thai coconut curry chicken was good. Not so impressed for me to check out other items.

Pick Up Stix is usually great, hence the four star review but I had a bit of a bummer experience last time.
Last night I went & ordered House Special Chicken & Crispy Honey Chicken, both spicy. I was talking the cashier who was very friendly while I waited for my food. As she was packaging my food she realized neither of my dishes were made extra spicy & handed them back to the cook, who looked annoyed. I’m sure it’s annoying but I did order it that way. Maybe it’s cuz I came in toward the end of the night, around 8:30. At least I didn’t rush in at 8:57!
Anyways, I’d been craving the Crispy Honey Chicken, I usually just stick w my go-​to House Special but it sounded so good. Every time I’ve ordered something spicy they sautee the dish with red chiles, which give it a great flavor. This time instead they put some red sauce on it which totally ruined the flavors of both dishes & worst of all, since it was sauteed twice, the Crispy Honey Chicken was totally soggy! I live right around the corner and it was was extremely soggy, the same consistency of the House Special. Also, instead of being light orange (from the honey sauce) it was reddish-​pink! The flavor was completely weird and I was so sad it had no crispiness to it :(I ate the House Special, I could taste the House Sauce still but the red sauce made it so weird, at least it tasted okay together; I didn’t even eat the Crispy Honey, I tried but it was kind of gross :(
Fried rice was great as usual.
I usually have a great experience at Pick Up Stix, and points for the friendly cashier. Next time I’ll see if they’ve changed how they prepare the dish if you ask for it to be «spicy». I just don’t have the heart to give them a bad review, this is the only time it’s been bad haha. We’ll see how it goes next time.

Typical greasy fast-​food Chinese. The Teriyaki Chicken dinner ($ 8) was tasteless.
I ended up doctoring the dish up with spices at home to add flavor, which defeats the purpose of paying a restaurant to prepare a meal.
If I ever return, (unlikely) I’ll try a vegetarian plate because their chicken was so tough and rubbery that I ended up throwing it out.

The veggie dishes are fast and good. I know it is not gourmet, and it is a chain, however, it is still good when low profile, low stress, easy is what you need. I prefer the Laguna Niguel location to Dana Point because it is more spread out and you can just chill and have a way low stress, easy meal…

Good Service and tasty food!
The prices are reasonable.
