Precision Auto Collision

As a driver who was on freeway duty from SLO to San Diego, ended up with at least three rear end collisions by distracted drivers. I usually drove 20 – 25,000 miles per year so that pushed odds for me. Precision repaired three different cars for me over the past ten years. Each time — perfect. Cheerful writers/​estimators made every difficult experience easier.

Todd and his staff at Precision are great! The entire front end of my car was wrecked and they fixed it up quickly and it was good as new. I highly recommend Precision!!!

few years ago i had damaged my car and infiniti of mission viejo sent me to precision auto collision, the experience and help that i received was so amazing and ten times better than my own insurance company. because of this i made sure to keep the card of the manager todd that not only helped me with my car but drove my car to me at work when it was done. this february i was hit very hard in my driver side door, i called precision and they acted quickly and issued aliso viejo towing to pick me and my car up to bring to their shop. they walked me through the repair and insurance process and got enterprise to get me a rental. my car is no spring chicken, its a 2004 infiniti g35 and if it wasn’t for precision’s dedication for finding parts for this older model i would of lost my car. they even touched up paint on few areas for free as a courtesy, no business in the auto industry has ever been so nice and so effective for me and that means i will always recommend and return to precision auto collision. my car looks better than before!

I’ve had many cars repaired at this location through the years. My 2014 Lexus IS350 has been repaired at this shop 3 times in the last 6 months. I’ve been unlucky, having been in 3 separate incidences where the other party was at fault since September of 2015. For the September repair, I received my car, and my front tire went flat daily for 3 days. I took the car back and was told there was nothing wrong with it and that I should have the tire replaced. I argued that it must be the wheel. They denied that the wheel was part of the accident. I argued some more. Finally, the wheel was removed to check for round and they found it was bent. It was replaced and paid for by the insurance company. This took several phone calls and a heated discussion before it was repaired. I thought this must be an isolated incident. So when my car was hit again in December, I took it in for repair and got great results, without any issues. I got hit again in March. Got my car back today. Looks beautiful outside. And the inside was detailed. Only problem: the anti-​glare coating on the screen to the navigation is deeply scratched. I sent them pictures and their response: «I’m going to have to say that did not happen here». Once again, they are refusing responsibility. I will not trust this shop again.

This review is way overdue as they worked on my car back in January. Mercury Insurance let me know that Precision was a preferred vendor so I brought my car in for some work after it had been in accident. I made an appointment to drop off on a Friday afternoon. I was told that my car would be ready by the following Friday. When I arrived Mercury had a rental car reserved for me and an agent met me at Precision to pick me up and take me to may rental car. I received a call from Rafael on Wednesday letting me know that I could pick up my car on Thursday (1 day early). When I arrived not only was my car outside waiting for me it had been completely detailed inside and out. The work they did was phenomenal and their service was just as good. This was one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. This company and the people that work there are real pros.

I purchased a new BMW in November of 2015 and, only 5 months later, my wife’s less-​than-​stellar driving skills took hold of the car and crashed it.
I called my insurance company to start the claim and had a few shops in mind in the Los Angeles Area, but Mercury recommended Precision Auto. Precision seemed decent, they had good reviews, and I saw a picture of another BMW on their Unilocal page, so I cautiously agreed to go with Precision since it was only a couple miles from my home. Dave was my assigned contact person/​advisor.
As a side note, upon purchasing my BMW, I took it to a detailer to have the paint polished and all the swirl marks removed (dealerships themselves cut corners and have to compromise washing techniques to keep their large inventory clean on a daily basis). Since that detailing, I had maintained the car on my own so I was familiar (and anal) about getting the work done correctly.
I had the car towed to Precision and called Dave the next morning to tell him I didn’t want the car washed after they completed their work. I preferred to do it on my own, specially since I had just had the paint reset and cleaned. He insisted they could do it and said they are actually a Detailing Business as well (this ended up not being the case-​as evidenced by the pictures). As the work progressed I would periodically check up on the progress and ran into another issue when he tried to replace the tires on the vehicle (one the tires was punctured during the collision and needed to be replaced). He insisted that he had worked on several 2015 BMWs and they they did not have Run Flat Tires, but I insisted otherwise. We went back and forth on this and I settled by saying «can you just agree to check on them and make sure you’re putting on the correct tires», and he agreed. They ended up being Run Flat Tires.
When I finally picked up the vehicle two weeks after the accident, we agreed on a time of 5PM. I was available earlier and called him around 1 and asked if I could pick it up around 1:30, to which he responded «No it won’t be ready, I still have to my detailer detail the car». I didn’t mind this at all. Given that the paint finish was important to me anyhow, I would much rather wait. Plus I was available all day so there was no rush. Strangely, Dave called me back about 45 minutes later to let me know that the car was ready and I could pick it up. Either they hired 8 detailers to work on my car simultaneously and got it done that quick, or he never detailed the car… its the latter.
I went to pick it up and noticed it was dirty, there were water spots all over, and the paint had raised specks of [insert here]. I still don’t know what it is, but it almost seems like paint/​dust that has adhered to the surface and won’t come off. He said he would take care of it and to bring the car back.
I brought the car back approximately a week later and he basically washed it well and maybe added some quick detailer spray to it-​but the dirt is still adhered to the paint. He gave me a business card and basically said I could call the detailer and have him do it on my own dime.
This is the first claim I’ve had to file and it had been a big pain in the rear. And Precision has made the process much worse than it needs to be. The frustration lies in a brand new car with random particles on the paint that were not there prior to the accident.
And I will give credit where its due. The mechanical functions of the car are great. Runs excellent and have had no issues with the repairs (which included multiple systems including steering, suspension, lighting & body). But the added issue with the finish of the car is frustrating and makes me recommend going elsewhere if you worry about the details in your vehicle.

Insurance company recommended them for my brand new SUV. Although had an appointment, had to wait for ever to get an estimate. Finally this arrogant guy that seemed like he was doing us a favor by even coming out, had no clipboard, or anything on him to write things down, then he pulls a number out of his … the air out in the street and says it is between $ 1,500 and $ 2,000 and over a week. I am thinking, that is 25% difference in price and where the heck did he come up with the parts price for a brand new model? A typical used car salesman attitude, and thinking he was funny. With $ 750 deductible, I felt like they were trying to stick it to the insurance company for a minor damage. Drove down a block to Laguna Niguel Collision Center, within 30 seconds they came out, took several pictures, looked up all the parts cost, gave me a written estimate, awesome attitude, told me it will be 2.5 days and the cost was less than my deductible at $ 650, so no insurance claim. Precision is just out there to rip off insurance companies, which effects all of our rates. Be smart and stay away from the rip off artists at Precision Auto Collision. BTW, LN Collision Center did an incredible job and the color match is the best I have ever seen.

I was told my car would take a week and a half then on day 4 I got a call stating that my car is ready to be picked up. Not only was my car ready, it was perfect again! Incredible work guys! Solid work by the folks here at Precision! Brought my vehicle in here as it was the closest recommended «Mercury Approved» repair shop in my area. Dropped the car of before a week of traveling for work and I was updated via email by the shop/​Mercury during stages of the repair. Returned home and picked up my car and the repair work was excellent. I am pretty particular about my vehicle but to my surprise there were no flaws that needed additional attention. It also appears they did a detail on the vehicle too before pickup.

Taken several cars for repairs over the years. This business is first class.

I have used Precision several times over the years. I have always been impressed with the quality of the work and even more so with the quality of the service. A lot of shops have signs on the walls extolling their service but Precision actually does it. Today the General Manager of the operation took time out of his day to advise me of the status of my repair. It is wonderful to be dealing with a company where you know you’ll get a fair price and superior service. It’s unfortunate there aren’t more like them but at least we know that they are here. Can’t say enough good things about these guys! First met them when they did flawless work repairing our car from a serious accident several years ago. And most recently, I hired them to do some custom work on a new car, including some difficult factory metallic paint matching. The results were meticulous, stunning, and done in record time. Wow.

The car look spanking new and they even detailed the inside and washed the car for us! How great is that?!
