You will see mostly wedding pictures here, however I also have a lot of experience with Portraits, Head Shots, Senior Portraits, Maternity Sessions, Bar/​Bat Mitzvahs and any kind of events.

Established in 2002.

Our team has worked at hundreds of locations. We’ve taken the time to learn their secrets — their best spots for interesting lighting and perfect angles. If your venue is new to us, we’ll happily explore and discover its romantic hiding places, too. We all want you to have the perfect backdrop for those important shots.

Some might say it’s a calling. Clearly, when it comes to documenting that special day, Scott Nelson’s the man for the job. Ground zero, he says, was at age ten when a photographer paid a visit to his school. He selected Scott as his assistant. «There are pictures of me sitting on his camera equipment,» he remembers. Scott was hooked. He took photography classes, shot all through high school. «I just loved it,» he says. «I knew I would excel in it.»

Scott made the process of capturing our wedding smooth, efficient and affordable. From our first consultation, to capturing us as we drove away; he continued to surprise us with great quality of work. Scott and his team meet up with my fiancé at the Marriott Villas in Newport Coast. Him and his assistant helped to calm my bride, and they both photographed the little moments while she was getting ready that were the essence of her experience.
The first look was arranged by Scott, and made into a dream come true, as they timed me turning around and the look on my face as I saw my stunning bride to be for the first time in her wedding dress. The weather turned south on us with some rain at the hotel photo shoot; but instead of turning it into a negative, they found us a great protected spot that made the photos priceless.
Scott and his team continued excellent service throughout the ceremony. After, when looking at the photos, I was amazed at the little details they captured without me being aware they were even there. We did a photo shoot on the beach after the ceremony and they made it fun and creative. Again during the reception, it was the little things they photographed that captured the magic of the night.
Scott was fast to deliver on the prints and we were blown away by the quality of work and so many great moments that we had no idea he captured. The pictures were clear, creative, detailed and beautiful.

Of all of the many details that we had to address for our Wedding, selecting a great photographer was one of the most difficult. In that I have a background in photography myself, I understood how to interview for the assignment. First, we talked the «the wedding planners’ short list of photographers. I found that they were prima donnas and priced way over the top. Having not only an art education but, having owned a production company was very helpful in seeing through the smoke and mirrors some of these people were putting up. We decided to look outside of the list for a real artist that I felt we could work with. After getting Scotts name and reviewing his body of work online, I contacted him. First, I found that he was down to earth and open to a creative dialogue about our interest and wishes. We came to an amicable agreement very easily.
On the day of our wedding, he was there right on time and fully equipped and organized for the assignment. He and his assistant, seem to always be in the right place at the right time. They seemed to magically appear and never miss a perfect photo op.
The results of their work, was wonderful and exceptional. We highly recommend Scott Nelson Photography. Thank you Scott for memorializing our wedding in a style and design that only a true artist could do.

He is the best, if you want beautiful photos he is the guy, and his personality is a great.
He did our engagement session and wedding and both are amazing. He is very professional, patient, listen to what you need. He responded to all of my emails very quickly. I was stressing out about the rain on my wedding day and he made sure, I face the day with no stress :) he even went to our venue the night before, to check it out. At our reception all of our guest loved him and they all said he is best photographer and one the nicest person they ever meet.
I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a photographer for a special event.

Met with him. All was alright. He appeared as a nice, calm person.
He sent us the contract, my fiancé signed it, and send it over to him.
However, He never sent us back the signed copy, and we were so busy with everything that we didn’t notice it for a month or two.
Then our wedding planner found it strange that he has asked us to pay him the full balance at the beginning. So I sen him an email inquiring about it and this was his response.
«I’m sorry I’m going to have to pass. I’m no longer available for your wedding.» !!!
Imagine the agony and the stress of having to start looking for a photographer again! That’s certainly not an ethical way of doing business. He was either looking for an excuse to bail out on us, or he has extremely bad manners for someone who is in an Industry that involves dealing with people!
Look elsewhere. Yes, his photos are beautiful, but of course reliability is the foundation for any service that one books for such an important day.

We got married at the St. Regis and had a very intimate small wedding with family only. Scott caught every moment! When I look at the pictures, it takes me back to that exact moment. I can recall the very moment of the emotion or thought I had. He was absolutely FANTASTIC! I LOVE my photos. He was funny too! My family was cracking up at his jokes when he was shooting. He was also very efficient. He took advantage of every moment and didn’t just sit around. I highly recommend him.

Love SAN! Scott Nelson photographed our Laguna Beach engagement session in early 2008 and our wedding in June 2008 in Huntington Beach.
He arrived early on the day of the wedding to photograph me getting ready at the hotel, and stayed until the dancing time of the reception. He was very professional, patient, and fun. Within a month after the wedding we were able to view 1000+ wedding day pictures online. We also received the edited digital files at that time.
My favorite is at our one year anniversary, he made me a special collage and slideshow to post on Facebook. He goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Scott Nelson photographed our Laguna Beach engagement session in early 2008 and our wedding in June 2008 in Huntington Beach.
He arrived early on the day of the wedding to photograph my wife getting ready at the hotel, and stayed until the dancing time of the reception. Within a month after the wedding we were able to view 1000+ wedding day pictures online. We also received the edited digital files at that time.
Since then we have used the files to create prints (small and large) for our walls and shelves. All of them great.
We had such a great experience with Scott that we continue to talk to him regularly as friends, four years later.
