Sea Maui Catamaran

There are few things more frustrating on a vacation than to have plans changed through the ineptitude of others. With Sea Maui Catamaran, that frustration is multiplied tenfold. I made reservations six WEEKS before arriving for our honeymoon, had a confirmation email at four weeks out and another the day before our eagerly anticipated trip. The morning of the excursion we arrived 45 minutes early (7:15a!!) and went up and down the beach looking for our catamaran. I began to have a sinking feeling… called numerous times and left messages. Finally at 8:15 am I was able to reach someone who said, «oh we are in drydock, someone should’ve called you.» Not only HADN’T someone called, they confirmed the trip twelve hours earlier. Their utter lack of any ability to run a business and deliver on reservations coupled with their complete lack of empathy rates them pretty low on the scale. AVOID at ALL COSTS!
Luckily for us, we found the great folks at Gemini Catamaran what an epic company that is.
Go to Gemini and avoid Sea Maui, you won’t regret it!!!

Went on a sunset sail with the wife and two friends on our last night in Maui. The staff was awesome and accommodating. The food was your run of the mill apps, but were we really there for the food?
Drinks were beyond kept full and the view was beautiful. The catamaran style vessel allowed for panoramic lines of sight and the employees were actually the ones to offer to take pictures!
Not to knock others, but I wish we would have used them for our snorkeling trip instead of the pacific whale foundation. Just had a totally different vibe in a good way. Almost like going on a trip with some cool strangers as opposed to your strict aunt lol

My husband and I took the Lanai snorkel trip and I cannot get over how amazing the crew was! By far the best experience I’ve had on a snorkel cruise. I would suggest maybe doing the West Maui trip instead of the Lanai because I think you get to go to more snorkel spots on West Maui.

We took the Lanai Snorkel trip and the crew was great! One of the best crews we’ve ever experienced. They were friendly and attentive, even paddled around while we snorkeled to ensure everyone was safe.
The breakfast and lunch provided was delicious! Lunch was one of the best meals we had on our vacation.
It is a long boat ride to Lanai but a nice relaxing trip if you like sailing along the ocean. I highly recommend Sea Maui!

These guys were great! Great service, good food and drinks, snorkeling was awesome. It was my first time snorkeling and I think they caught on to that because they really kept an eye on me. I felt super safe. Kudos to that

The whole crew was awesome. I was staying at the westin and they come pick you up right there on the beach next to it so it was perfect. We got lucky and saw dolphins and whales on the way to the snorkeling spot. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it.

The most fun for the least amount of money made this a most memorable sunset sail for me and my family. Captain Steve, Molly and Cameron treated us with courtesy and respect and were super friendly. The free nibbles and BYOB policy make this a cheap night out and a lot of fun. Eschew the expensive dinner cruise, go with Sea Maui’s sunset cruise then go have a nice dinner for way less. Also they are about $ 20 cheaper than the other over crowded charters that sail from this beach. With a nice small group you get to know your ship mates early and a great party give ensues. What a night!

Sea Maui is suuuuuuper awesome! It was my first time snorkeling ever, and they made me feel safe and comfortable the whole entire time. My friends and I bought a groupon for the West Maui snorkeling tour because we wanted to snorkel during our vacation. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks (POG all the way!) were all provided on the way to our destinations, and for those who aren’t comfortable swimming, they have life jackets. They also provide snorkeling gear if you need it, but we all brought our own. What’s super nice is that they were very good with making sure our goggles were defogged and our equipment was on properly. One of the guys (I forgot his name) even took the time to show my boyfriend and I how to properly put on our goggles for each other. I loved their hospitality :)
I def enjoyed the snorkeling part! I got to see so many fishys, coral, and sea turtles! You can actually get pretty close to the turtles ’cause they definitely aren’t scared of nobody and nothing! Oh, and you can also hold some sea urchins if they’re able to find some and bring them up to the surface. It was so cool. We also got to see some sharks hovering around at the ocean floor! Overall, I thought they did an amazing job, and it was an amazing experience! Oh, don’t forget to apply that sunscreen though. Hawaii sun can be brutal ;(

Very well organized and fun snorkel trip. Captain Steve encouraged us to have fun but also stressed respect for the sea creatures and elements.
The crew was awesome. Super helpful and easy going but very attentive to all the passengers too.

we found a groupon deal for two people west maui snorkel tour for $ 102. i was amazed with its food and service they have provided. the overall tour was awesome and fun! we stopped at two different spots and i saw so many sea turtles and couple whales when we were at the boats!
Pro:
they provided breakfast (rice, sausage, bacon, and egg in a bento box for each person), delicious chocolate chips cookies after we were done with one spot, and buffet style lunch which included juicy chicken, kale salad, pasta salad, and rice! i would say this offered the best food out of all the snorkels that i had been to in other part of Hawaii, Key West, and cancun! quality food for an excursion like this is also a plus
excellent customer service! the staffs there kept asking everyone if they are thirsty or not and offered to get soft drink for each person throughout the tour! in addition, the staff offered to take photo for us using our phone! no charge! that was super sweet! unlike other excursions that i had been to where the staff would charge a good amount of money if we wanted to buy photos from them! again exceptional service!
cons: had to ask for life jackets! most snorkels tours we had been to gave everyone a life jacket. I would not recommend this tour for super beginners! there were no lessons provided prior to snorkeling but i am sure if u ask them they would all be more than willing provide you with personalized instructions.
overall, great experience

First night in Maui for a friends 30^th. 8 drunken fun seekers looking for a party. We found it! ALL the crew were awesome. Since it was listed BYO we came prepared. Not necessary, they provided all the cocktails; and the fun. Allegedly we saw whales, but we were too bombed and engrossed in boat side shenanigans to care. Highly recommend!

Great sunset ride on the catamaran. We brought our own drinks thinking it was BYOB but the staff had plenty of drinks on board and snacks too. We got to see whales and turtles along with An amazing sunset despite the clouds. Got some memorable pictures and would definitely recommend to a friend or family member to try it out.

As everyone’s already said, these guys are AMAZING. From the beginning to the end, everything was wonderful. I’ve snorkeled before in the ocean, but never on a boat in the middle of the ocean, so naturally, I was a little apprehensive about the entire thing, but I’m so glad I went with Sea Maui because it was the best experience of my trip to Maui. For anyone wondering, they do offer life vests for people to wear while snorkeling, so don’t be afraid to do this even if you’re not a strong swimmer!
The food was delicious, and I get the worst seasick anytime I’m on a boat even if I take medicine, but the catamaran is a good size and I didn’t have any problems this time around. Molly and Cam were so nice and caring and made my entire party feel safe the entire time we were on the boat and in the water. My mom was deathly afraid of going into the ocean, so she stayed on the steps of the boat leading into the water, and Molly was kind enough to bring over a starfish to show her and even offered to stay with her so that she could get a chance to snorkel.
There’s not much else to say that hasn’t already been said by previous reviewers. If you’re looking for a fun, amazing activity in Maui, go with these guys! They’re great, friendly, and offer the most delicious cookies right when you’re thinking you could use a snack about now.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! My wife and I did the Lanai Snorkeling Tour and we saw tons of fish, coral, two turtles and even an octopus. We did it Jan 18^th and with it being whale season we expected to see a few. We saw over 100! Most from a distance but the captain was great about making sure he did everything he could do to get a close as legally allowable. On one occasion, he killed the engine as one was coming our direction and it swam right under the boat. It was awesome! The staff never stopped serving and doing whatever they could to ensure we had a great time. Highly recommend Sea Maui.

I wish I could give more stars, it was the best island activity I could have imagined. Captain Steve, his mini bulldog «Lady,» and crew members Molly, Phil, and Cam were amazing. They are super knowledgable, laid back, love people, love what they do (and it shows), and are professionals.
Unfortunately, the last couple of days have brought larger than anticipated swells to the waters, so we boarded our sunset cruise (¹⁄₁₈) at Whaler’s Village-​and the boarding process was interesting-​people had to scurry on and off board in between swells-​and a few of us got wet. But it was not enough to diminish the quality of the tour or the fun we had.
The next morning (today, ¹⁄₁₉) for the Lanai snorkel cruise, they took out of the Mala Harbor in Lahaina due to the swells. They shuttled us to the catamaran, 6 at a time. While this process took more time, it was so kind of them to consider our safety and comfort first-​no one seemed to mind. On our way out to Lanai we saw sea turtles in the Harbor and at least 2 dozen whales the whole day.
The snorkel time in the cove was tremendous fun! They had all gear available for use and inflatable life jackets (someone could start a business selling inflatable jackets that don’t lose air out of the nozzle so easily-​but again, it was mostly an inconvenience-​if I couldn’t swim, I would have been panicked). Phil swam around and took pictures while we explored-​Molly used her stand up paddle board to seek out sea turtles and keep an eye on everyone. Cam also swam with us while Captain Steve and Lady kept watch over the vessel.
On our way back to Maui, we had to stop for baby whales right in front of us, they not only swam up to the boat, but the momma circled our boat! It was incredible! We will all be talking about that for years to come. The Sea Maui is hands down the best water charter/​tour I’ve ever taken. They served us breakfast (rice, sausage, bacon, eggs-​with coffee, water, or juice) on our way out to Lanai; and served us lunch (chicken, rice, salad-​beware that the lettuce will fly off your plate, curry macaroni salad, chocolate chip cookies, and a bevy of beverages, including some rum and vodka for mixing) on our return to Maui.
If you come to Maui, you much book a trip (or a few!) with Sea Maui Catamaran!!! Ma’halo to Captain Steve, Molly, Phil, Cam, and of course, Lady :)

Our family had a wonderful sailing with a great crew!!! Molly, Phil & Capt. Steve are really Fun and served us from beginning to end. We booked 2 more sing with SeaMaui catamaran… cannot wait til tomorrow

The staff was exceptional, if your looking for staff that has excellent customer service, very friendly, professional & entertaining this is the excursion company you need to go through! We highly recommend Sea Maui & when we return to Maui we will see them again! Thank you for giving us memories we will cherish for a life time!!!

We were a little skeptical at first when we saw how cheap this tour was but could not have been more impressed with the food, service and crew! We had such a great time! They served us coffee, eggs bacon and sausage and rice for breakfast and then BBQ chicken and beef that was so tender and tasty with a yummy salad for lunch! The crew was very nice, making sure we saw some cool things during the snorkel. I would definitely recommend this snorkel tour or sunset cruise over any of the other tours!

These guys were accommodating, attentive and overall AWESOME! From the start, the rep who checked us in at the meet up point was very nice and bubbly. She had us place our shoes in a communal bin that they kept safe by the captain (no shoes on the boat).
The capt and staff showed up on time and we were shuffled on quickly to start the sunset sail. One of the staff members walked around asking to serve us by bringing food, pouring drinks, keeping our beer cold, etc. The scenery was awesome (saw a huge rainbow) and although the water was choppy, they did a good job of keeping us dry!
It was a very relaxing and enjoyable ride with friends and we were able to see some beautiful scenery. The staff went above and beyond with their customer service and the whole experience was seamless. If ever I am back in Maui, I would love to use them for their snorkel tour!
