The hot tub/​pool ruined 3 of my daughters swim suits. The food and service is horrible.

I called in the early morning, spoke to John. I was told check in time was later in the day but could be accommodated. So, with the assurance that a room would be available I took the trip from Chino. I was celebrating a special occasion with my partner.
After the long drive and 20 min of getting lost, at last we arrived! Tired but excited to begin our weekend we approach the front desk.
I gave the young blond girl my name and she said she had my name recorded. She said there were no rooms at the moment. Then she realized I was the patron that called early and was told I’d receive a room at an earlier check-​in time. At that moment she realized we were a couple and both desk attentands became rude and unprofessional. They then said they couldn’t accommodate us and we would have to wait… if they had rooms. It was 8am, tired and eager to freshen up. Upsetting that we left early and then we’re treated this way. We then searched for vacancies, none. Then searched for a restaraunt, closed until 11am. In the end we left the city dissapointed and crushed our special plans were ruined.
HOMOPHOBIC– UNPROFESSIONAL– INCONSIDERATE

Came here for our 2^nd Anniversary after having such a great time last year and what a difference. We changed rooms 3 times our first night when the AC broke, 2^nd room, the shower was filthy and there were flies and mosquitos and dead bugs all over the ceiling. 3^rd room smells like cigarettes and AC is still not functioning properly. What a nightmare! The front desk staff that checked us in gave us no information on amenities or anything like that, just handed us a key and told us where the elevator was. Mo the manager has offered to make it right, but at this point we’ve lost a full day of our short vacation and a sleepless night. What a disappointment for a Boutique Marriott Hotel.
So I will upgrade to 4 stars, Mo, Joe and Cassie at the front desk all worked together to make the situation right and put us in a suite. Finally able to unpack and relax after changing rooms 4 times in 24 hours. Thank you, to the rest of the staff for stepping up and giving great customer service.

I got married here back in March 2010. Looking for a winter Wonderland wedding… looks further! My expectations were exceeded on every level on every subject and in every way. Ease, comfort, satisfaction, joy, nirvana, elegance– just a few words to describe the experience. If you are interested in wither experiencing those feelings or adding more of it to your life… play here, stay here, eat here, wed here, GO HERE!

The staff is nice enough but it is definitely dated. The best description is basic— which is fine. However the two stars come from the HVAC system which simply doesn’t work effectively. Sweltering and stifling best describe our stay. We finally couldn’t stand it any longer and at midnight requested a fan. One was delivered along with apparently several others who had the same request. Ours however did not work— 30 minutes later we still await delivery of the second fan. Argh!!!’
This is our third stay here with the same bland experience. I have to come here yearly for work. But next year I will be seeking out a different hotel— any other hotel!

Check in was great. We checked in at 3pm and there was a small line. As soon as we finished the crowds started to walk in.
The resort is very busy on weekends as expected with summer weddings. Friday night karaōke is really loud and I felt embarrassed for all the drunks in there. Lol But I couldn’t hear it from my room so that was nice.
I would recommend staying here although it is a bit pricey and requires a two night stay during the summer.

Awesome place to stay. Been there many times. Love the brista! They have a young blonde girl named chloe who works in there. Sweetest girl in the whole resort. I with the the resort had all there employees as sweet as her! I have visited there a few times and pleased with her vibe and the way we are treated. If your staying there stop in there!

My wife and I decided to go back to the resort exactly a year later! Our expectations were high because of our last stay was so perfect!
Thanks to Tiffany at the front desk! She gave us an excellent lakeside view from our balcony of our room! Very professional service!
Tanner is an excellent bartender!
Heather Raye in the Spa was fabulous! My wife and I had a couples massage! The two ladies who did the massages were amazing!
The food service was very good!
My only complaint is that the food at the restaurant was either really good or really not good. My guess would be maybe a new Chef? !?

We came here for a short weekend get away. Everything was great! It was my husband’s birthday and we wanted a nice experience. We had a room on the lake side right on ground level with a patio opening up to the beautiful trees and lake. At night it was so peaceful and quiet, some of the best R & R we have had in a while. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

We really wanted to like this place given its ideal location which is walkable to the main shopping area in Lake Arrowhead but the experience we had on Memorial Day weekend was horrible. In contrast to the pictures, our room didn’t have a balcony even though we paid a premium for a lake view. The reception personnel were not helpful at all saying that «we didn’t ask for a balcony”– this is our first time here, the pictures seemed to show balconies in the lakeside rooms, and my wife didn’t see anywhere to mark request balcony when booking our room on the internet so how are we supposed to know that?
The rooms are dated, the dingy room they gave us had holes in the already broken and decrepit windowscreen. Additionally it was a hot weekend and our room was sweltering even though we had set our thermostat to 70 degrees. We had to go downstairs to ask for help and they gave us a fan… seriously? They finally send a maintenance guy to fix the AC but then by the next morning the room felt like a meat locker.
The management didn’t even offer to help us and finally reluctantly gave us a small discount after my wife complained again.
Avoid this place if you can.

Giving 5 stars for our awesome front desk check in experience! Grace and Tiffany were so helpful and friendly. If anything else was off I’m sure they would have made it right.
Joshua was a great waiter in the restaurant too.
They were all so great we extended another night.

My (first) stay here: Friday through Sunday, May 20 to May 22, 2016.
Though I have been coming to Lake Arrowhead to visit a buddy and spend several days at a time at his home over the last twenty plus years, this was the first time I ever checked into «the Spa.» The reason: My buddy’s daughter got married on Saturday night. I chose the LA Resort and Spa because it is right next door to the LA Yacht Club where the wedding was going to be.
With over 300 reviews on Unilocal,not much more praise I can give to this hotel. Would I call it a resort? Not especially. I admit I didn’t check out the weight/​exercise room, nor did I go in the Jacuzzi or the pool outside (in an area that has a Lake view, BTW), but those accoutrements make NOT a resort, IMHO.
I noticed there were some negative reviews AND some extraordinary allegations made about conditions of the rooms here. All I can say is that I was very happy with my room and it’s condition. Yes, the rug looked like it wasn’t brand new, but it was clean and spotless. The HDTV, cable and WiFi worked perfectly. The bed was triple-​sheeted and firm. The bathroom had no tub, but I’m not a tub guy. The shower stall was huge and can easily hold any couple who want to shower together.
Personnel here were professional, courteous and efficient. They make eye contact with you and greet you when you come and go. I never experienced any of the negativism I read about in some of the previous reviews.
[To the negative Unilocal reviewers that preceded this review: I don’t wanna sound like sour grapes, nor do I want to sound like I’m defending LA Resort or being defensive here, but the negative reviews for this place make my radar go, «…beep …beep …beep…beep …beep …beep.» They just don’t compute; they have no reality to what I saw with my own eyes or heard from other wedding guests who basically loved their rooms, the service, the accoutrements, etc. Where are the pictures of all these negative things you allege caused you to write one star reviews?]
All-​in-​all, if you are going to Lake Arrowhead in the near future, I wouldn’t be concerned about this place… and it IS undoubtedly the place you want to stay at.
Don’t forget to see my pix of the room, bathroom, and my «pool» view from the room. Most rooms, BTW, have a Lake View and you can ask for that when making reservations or checking in.

I just went back to Lake Arrowhead and again stayed at the Lake Arrowhead Resort (I will never stay anywhere else). Again, it was perfect. You walk into this beautiful hotel and someone is there to say hello. I was checked in right away, as always. The front desk staff is great and will make sure you have everything you need. Our room was beautiful. We were near the pool, which I love. The pool area is great and it is heated all year long. We again had all our meals there because the food and service is fantastic. If you get a chance read my full review from 2015. Nothing has changed. It is simply a wonderful place, go there, have a great time and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Lake Arrowhead Resort.

The resort has potential to be worthy of better than 3 Stars, but I was a little disappointed beginning with check-​in at the front desk. When I arrived there were 3 young ladies at the front looking anxiously at the computer. Whatever problem they had apparently required the attention of all 3 of them so I had to wait.
When I checked in I was told two things that irritated me. First I was told that a $ 20 service charge would be added to the room charge for my use of the hotel’s amenities. I wouldn’t have blinked at paying $ 20 more for the room but I expect access to the amenities to be included. It seemed like a bait-​and-​switch to me.
My second issue was that I was told I had a «mountain view». I didn’t ask about the view but that created an expectation in my mind. Picture «mountain view» and compare with the 2 pictures I’ve posted. If she had said nothing about the view I probably would not be writing a review now.
In all, this is a pretty nice place that is missing an opportunity to be a great place.

Seriously? We love this place. come all the time… BUT seriously LAR&S…the furniture in room 207, leather peeling off the entire sofa… wood chipped off front of dresser… really needs to go… but…we’ll be back.

Ambiance was awesome!!! Service was the worst!!! Six tables & 5 servers, took forever to have somebody come check on us. I felt like I had to stand up and Greek plate my beer bottle!!!

Love this place… so serene, romantic and super close to the village. Taylor was awesome and so was the rest of the staff. Definitely coming back again..

SPA REVIEW ONLY!
I heard they do a spa pass for non guests of the hotel and I was SO happy! I took my four girlfriends with me, one of which was turning 30, for a relaxing day at the spa!
As I was told over the phone, you don’t need to make an appointment, just walk right in! The blonde gentleman at the front was SUPER nice and gave us a weekday rate because the steam rooms weren’t working, which was super sweet!
I didn’t know what to expect, but the day pass is worth it if you are staying in town and don’t have a jacuzzi. the facility was AMAZING!
Locker rooms, robes, sandals, indoor AND outdoor jacuzzi, heated pool, tea, cucumber water, etc! The BONUS was the hairdryer, brushes, lotion, mouth wash! It was PERFECT.
Chelsea was FABULOUS and so nice and showed us around. They have a gym as well that two of my friends used, on top of Pilates and Yoga classes!
Overall, this place was awesome. You walk into the resort and are like WOW it’s so grand! I wish I could have stayed in a room, maybe next time!
I’m pretty sure you could have ordered food or drinks down by the pool, and I wish we did. The view was very snowy and freezing, but the jacuzzi was SO HOT. Will definitely come back when I’m back at the mountains!

You must get a room with a lake view! It’s stunning! So beautiful to wake up to a lake sunrise.
Room was clean, comfortable and modern. I loved the high top patio furniture on the balcony. This resort is also dog friendly.
The Spa at the Pines is open ( Unilocal shows it as closed) and it is a wonderful facility. The gym and women’s locker room were great. You can rent fishing poles, book boat rides and other recreation activities through the spa. They also have a nice selection of products. Right outside of the spa is the hotel’s heated pool and two hot tubs.
I definitely recommend this wonderful lakeside resort!

I stayed here a couple days for work. The overall facilities were pretty nice. Rooms have balconies with chairs. Bathrooms have extra spacious counters. I had a 3^rd floor room with a balcony lake view, however it was literally the furthest room on the end. The hotel is long rather than tall so many of the rooms are a hike. Definitely request a close room if mobility is tough.
Hotel guests have direct access to Lake Arrowhead and their section of the beach was clean and unused most of the time. The hotel catered a private beach BBQ for us, and the food that night was delicious. The other meals the hotel catered were also not bad and on par with comparable hotels. Their main restaurant BIN 189 is large with an impressive looking bar and spacious lounge area. I did not dine at the restaurant itself during my stay, so can’t comment on the restaurant food compared to their catering. The connected outdoor seating had a nice view of the lake.
The spa and gym area is one of the highlights of the resort. I was pleasantly surprised at how well appointed the locker rooms were — cold towels & fruit were a nice touch. Gender separate hot tubs and saunas were also located in the locker rooms.
The gym, though small, has more updated equipment than most hotel gyms (I know that’s not saying much). They also offer multiple group classes a day — yoga, pilates, zumba, aerobics, toning, etc.
Service could have been more polished, but overall I had an enjoyable stay.
