My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary. I felt that this place could have done a lot better with their steaks. I ordered a medium rare Filet Mignon, and my boyfriend ordered a medium rare Porterhouse. When it came out, I was disappointed; I could tell that the meat was fully cooked. My boyfriend and I ordered some drinks and thought that it was only tolerable. Although the steak was not very satisfying, we did really enjoy our appetizer. We ordered their calamari, and it was very delicious. Our side dish was very scrumptious too, the mash potato and baked potato was literally the highlight of our meal. But the best part of this arena was that the waiter and hostess gave a very welcoming service to us. Which is why I am giving it 3.5÷5, my experience here was only okay. But customer service for me is always everything. Maybe I just went it in a really bad time.

Yachtsman is a pretty good steakhouse. Service is on par with Disney’s other signature restaurants. We’ve been here 3 times. The first time was great! I ordered a charcuterie board and lobster. Both were great but what really won us over was their garlic popovers. Our second visit was okay. We got a great table but they screwed up my filet mignon. But, by this time, we were on the 2nd week of our Deluxe Disney Dining Plan and frankly tired of eating so much food on a daily basis that we just pulled an Elsa and let it go. After a long hiatus, we came back in 2015 and this time I tried their 21 Day Dry-Aged Steak. It was good but not mind blowing. Honestly, we only come back because of their garlic popovers. We always try to get two servings at least with each meal. Next visit, we might bring some tupperware and sneak out some garlic popovers home with us on the plane.

The Yachtsman is the steakhouse and pricier dining option at Disney’s Yacht Club resort. Naturally being somewhat of a steak snob I was a little skeptical but I can certainly attest that the Yachtsman is certainly legit — including typical exorbitant steakhouse prices(steaks ranging from($ 47 — $ 119). I highly recommend reservations as it gets PACKED. With reservations however we were seated very quickly. Upon entry you can view the steaks through the glass of the dry aging room and a tray shows you the different cuts available. The dining room is loud and busy — great so your kids can be loud and not bother anyone else. Our sever was extremely attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. The wine list also had a nice selection to choose from. I had read raving reviews about the 16 oz ribeye so I had to go with that. I added an «enhancement» of scallops since naturally 16oz of meat are not enough for my fat ass. Of course with all Disney restaurants the requisite kids meals are also available. The ribeye was as good as advertised — perfectly cooked Medium Rare and deliciously covered in compound butter. The steak was of great quality, each bite was tender and with generous fatty flavor throughout. The«enhancement» scallops while good were certainly a massive ripoff as you only get 2 scallops for $ 15. The steak also came with some delicious bone marrow but I felt this was savory overkill. My tastebuds coudn’t take too much of the steak, butter, and marrow. Overall a pretty good dining experience except for the damage to the wallet. Along with Artisan Point I think Disney has done a good job with their more upscale dining options. Not sure I’d choose coming here over another high-end steak joint but it’s certainly a good option if you want to splurge while staying at the Yacht or Beach club.

Excellent dinner here last night. Charcuterie tray and lobster appetizers to start, the shared porterhouse for dinner, ordered 2 for the 6 of us. Steak was great, nice wine selection!

Everything about this place is excellent. The food was excellent, the server Bev was excellent, and they even made a special dessert for us. Definitely try this place out when you are in Disney.

Okay a debated a lesser star on this one but 4 seemed doable. I went here for my birthday in late April. Ended up ordering the 32 oz steak to share along with a side of Black Truffle Risotto. So first things first they don’t have the black truffle risotto on the menu any longer. Fortunately we were able to order it. It was some where around 26.00 and worth every penny. Unfortunately the steak was not worth every penny. If I were going again I would not order the 32oz Porterhouse. I just feel it really missed the mark for a steak you are charging over a hundred buck for. Don’t get me wrong the steak was good, but for that price I want great. I want the cow to walk out and recommend it himself and let me know he was glad to make the sacrifice for my dinner. Just didn’t hit that mark. The sides that come with the steak were all good as well. They were mushrooms, cream spinach and caramelized onions as well as a potato dish. Overall the food was good just not great. Everything else about this place was okay to good as well. The noise is really loud for a fine dinning establishment. The waiter was really good and fairly attentive. Overall I would recommend and might even go back. I just would order something different.

A great choice for a great meal. It’s just… Not my favorite steak experience. There’s nothing wrong with it, I’ve just had others wow me more. All the food was good. I got the filet and thought the red wine glaze could use more bite to it– the flavor was a little muted compared to others that I’ve had. The steaks had a nice char as well. Loved the French onion soup presentation and the lobster bisque had good flavor.

OMFG! The husband fell I love with watching the butcher work on all the aged cuts. The kitchen is open and the Chef came out to congratulate us and take a picture with us. But the food, the freaky’ food is just butter in your mouth. Everything is rich and flavorful. We wanted to try everything and will be back.

Very good signature Disney restaurant! Quality of steak, cocktails and food on par with other good steakhouses in NY, Vegas, Philly. Our waiter Thomas from RI provided great service to our table of seven. Everyone enjoyed their meals! I highly recommend the NY Strip, 16oz ribeye, the 10oz filet and the Atlantic halibut. Heirloom carrots, cream of spinach and onion sour dough rolls w/roasted garlic and sweet cream sea-salt butter were great accompaniments to our meal. Nice cocktail and wine list, but very limited draft beer menu.

Very shameful service: 1. Didn’t get seated until 55 minutes past our reservation time. I’m ok with that, but they obviously gave our table to someone else who complained about his wait time… totally unprofessional. 2. Service was terrible — I’ve eaten at numerous WDW fine dining establishments before and have ALWAYS had a great experience. But this was brutal… empty water glasses, water splashed on people, foil from the wine bottle flung all over while uncorking, hot steak plates put out BEFORE the appetizer(only to be in the way when the appetizer arrived), kid’s soup and entrée served at the same time… both before any adult appetizer was served, dinner plate literally put ONTOPOF silverware… need I go on. ** Look, I know things get out of step, but this was a TOTALSYSTEMICBREAKDOWN… from the front of the house/seating, to the service, to the kitchen. I’m truly shocked, I thought WDW was better. *** To be fair, we left before our(adult) food, once they tried to serve the kids all at once. We were comped the bill. I really don’t know who to blame. I guess the buck stops with the restaurant manager. He was all too willing to apologize, but that doesn’t fix the problem. VERYDISAPPOINTING!!!

Our family decided to forgo the home Christmas and instead, we took a trip to Disneyworld. This was our second time as a family and for my husband and myself, our 5th trip together. You would think that somewhere along the way, we would have made it to the Yachtsman, but we had not. We decided that THIS trip, we would make sure to have dinner there. Although it was late December, and Christmas Break to boot, the restaurant didn’t feel crowded(although nearly every table was occupied), nor did we feel rushed. If you are going to enjoy a dinner that comes out to over $ 200 for three people(or 6 Disney Dining Credits), you do not want to feel rushed. Let me start by saying that Disney recommends reservations, and so do I. Even if you are not going to go during a high season, the last thing you want to do is have to wait for what could are a very long time. Or worse, be informed that there are NO tables available. We had a reservation and from the time we let the hostess know of our arrival, we waited less than five minutes to be escorted to our table. I have to caution the vegetarians in the crowd, this is not the place for you. The hostess begins by taking you past the meat window, where you can view meats that are dry-aging. Often, there is an expert meat-cutter behind the glass, slicing up various cuts of beef for dinner. The restaurant is decorated in woods and brass and gives you the feeling of being on board a ship. We were seating in an area near the windows, so we could look out over the beach area(the restaurant is located inside the Yacht Club Resort at Walt Disney World) during dinner. But even a seat away from the windows affords you the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful décor of the restaurant. There is a reason why, if you are on the dining plan, the restaurant charges two instead of one credit. The service is impeccable, the waitstaff is extremely attentive and you feel as if you are dining in one of the finest restaurants in the world, despite the fact that Goofy might be out in the lobby. Yachtsman feels a world away. We began our meal with Cesar Salad(if you are on the dining plan, this was not included in your set meal, but this was a splurge meal for us, so we didn’t let that stop us from putting gin add-ons). The dressing had enough garlic to thrill my husband, but not so much that it overpowered the salad. The croutons were delicious and then there is the surprise of a piece of almost candied lemon peel. It sounds strange, but when you enjoy it intermittently with the salad, the flavors intensify. Our entrée was the prime rib-eye steak and it was one of the best cuts of beef I have ever enjoyed. It was cooked exactly the way I ordered it(medium well, just a hint of pink), with seasonings that complemented the meat in every bite. Our daughter had ordered the same thing and when hers arrived a bit on the medium rare side, our waiter whisked it back to the kitchen and had it redone in a matter of minutes. We chose to order a truffled macaroni and cheese for an additional, delicious! When our daughter couldn’t finish her meal, our waiter packed it up for her, complete with utensils, napkin, salt and pepper. It’s the special touches that make it worthwhile. Dessert brought the meal full circle with yet another tasty set of choices. Our daughter enjoyed the Yachtsman Sundae(gelato with am arena cherries), my husband chose the Crème Brûlée(so good). But I think my dessert was the winner. Chocolate peanut cake! A chocolate peanut butter cake with a liquid ganache, topped with pretzel curls and served with a salted caramel gelato. Not only was the cake pretty to look at, but it tasted amazing! After dinner, we strolled around the grounds before leaving. Even if you cannot afford to stay at the Yacht Club Resort, I highly recommend you enjoy this restaurant at some point during your stay! You won’t regret it!

This is the best steak in all of Disney I believe. The steaks are perfectly aged and perfectly cooked over an oak fire(so they tell me). I had the 18 oz bone in strip cooked medium. It was cooked perfectly, dark pink from edge to edge and had a perfect flavored crust. I also got the scallops on the side, which were also perfect. Would highly recommend if you are anywhere in Disney to make your way over.

Our dining experience was fantastic! From the charcuterie board app to the 16oz ribeye and truffle mac n cheese entrée, we were blown away by everything Paul brought to the table! The wine pairings were perfect and I’m already missing the Yachtsman Signature French press with dessert. It was a perfect end to a sensational dinner!

This would have been a 4 or 5 star review except for the following: 1: Diners, be alert to your final itemized bill. We had 3 items that we were charged more for than the listed price on menu. Server Vicki and Manager George handled this discrepancy professionally, almost too professionally and smooth, leaving this diner with the impression that this could be a common occurrence. We however we’re satisfied with the resolution. 2: As a party of two with reservations, we were initially seated at a table tucked away in the furthest back section of the dining room, 5 feet from their service area. This allowed us no view of the Boardwalk. Server Charlene was gracious when asked to seat us at another table. Server Vicki was excellent throughout. Food, 16oz Ribeye was cooked to order. Prime Rib was simply outstanding, some of the best I ever had. Overall, 5 stars for food and service, 3 stars for pricing discrepancies. I wonder how many diners don’t check their itemized bill…

We had the most amazing early Valentine’s dinner at this steakhouse. Our check-in process was quick and we were diverted to the bar for a few minutes while our table was prepared. The attached watering hole had lovely servers who guided us to the best drinks for our palettes. Before our cocktail was even finished, our table was ready. And what a table it was! A four-top for two, in the rotunda, with a view of the fireworks out the window. Couldn’t beat it. My wife and I are«that couple» that love to sit adjacent to one another, and this was ideal. Oscar was our server. He was terrific and funny. We noticed he was a bit overwhelmed with multiple tables, but he handled it well. Our meal was expedient, but we wanted it that way. We had post-dinner dessert plans at Beaches n’ Cream, followed by an evening of drunken signing at Jellyrolls. Oscar caught on and delivered. Bread service included roasted garlic, which was a nice touch. We each selected the filet mignon. All of the première Walt Disney World restaurants have this incredible«cabernet jus» which complements the meat and potatoes perfectly. It’s a simple, well-executed dish. We abandoned wine service in favor of continuing our cocktails and remarked that this was one of the more memorable cuts of meat we’ve had in quite some time. Temperature was perfect. The filet sliced like butter, no exaggeration. We’ll be back, but not before we try California Grill, Jiko and Artist Point.

Oscar our server was amazing! Super friendly and funny. Sea scallops were really some of the best scallops we’ve ever had. Melissa the manager stopped by and we we had a nice conversation. All the desserts were excellent but the chocolate pretzel peanut cake was outstanding. Steaks were ok. Should have been better considering this is a steak house but they weren’t bad. We’re spoiled because we have a large selection of great steak houses near home so when we eat steak elsewhere we try to keep things in perspective. You’ll have a great experience at the Yachtsman. We’ll be back again on the Disney Dining Plan.

Meat-lovers rejoice! I came here for a special dinner with 3 girlfriends, and our dining experience was pretty perfect. As soon as you enter Yachtsman Steakhouse, you’ll be greeted by the inviting sight of a room filled with dry-aged steaks. Then, the scent of grilled steaks will beckon you to continue on to the dining room. The dining room is decorated simply, with wood furnishings, white linen tablecloths and big windows looking out to the pool and lake area at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Overall, the look and feel is understated and lovely. As you can imagine, the menu is very steak-heavy, and also includes a few seafood dishes, a vegetarian meal and a chicken option. Here’s what we ordered: — Seared scallops with lobster arancini — Filet mignon — New York strip Everyone raved about their food. I don’t eat beef and was skeptical about ordering seafood at a steakhouse, but the scallops were seared to perfection. The gals who ordered steak seemed beyond thrilled with their meals. Other highlights: — Wine Menu: There are so many great wines on their list! We ordered the Frogs Leap Red Zin and were pleased. — Service: Service is formal, but not stuffy. Our server was helpful, without being overbearing. She really set the tone for an upscale, yet relaxing dinner. — Dessert: So, I can’t have most desserts because I can’t eat dairy and I don’t have a sweet tooth. But my dinner companions raved about the desserts. They ordered the sorbet and the chocolate peanut cake. — Bread: The bread basket comes out a slab of butter AND a grilled bulb of garlic. I love garlic… so much that I’d be happy as a clam to just eat the garlic and leave the butter and bread for everyone else. Overall, Yachtsman delivers a solid dining experience. I definitely recommend this to carnivorous Disney-philes.

Oh my… what a treasure! If Disney aims to epitomize extraordinary service and top-drawer food in their signature restaurants, they pass with flying colors at the Yachtsman. As the name would suggest, the restaurant is located in the Yacht Club Resort, and as such the theme and feel to the restaurant is nautical with the feeling you’re inside a ship rather than on land. The colors and décor are simple yet effective, mostly light wood tones with splashes of subdued blues, whites and yellows. As you enter, there is a display where various meats are being hung and going through the aging process. Our waiter, Barry, was outstanding — very professional, knowledgable, and friendly. He explained the menu fully and always made sure we were taken care of. The menu isn’t too big(which for me is a sign of a good restaurant) but they had a great selection. The bread basket contained pull-apart onion rolls which were out of this world, I can eat just those and be perfectly fine. I stared with the cheese ravioli appetizer which contained a number of different elements such as pistachios and a bolognese sauce, I didn’t think it would go together that well but worked. For my main I had the NY strip; very juicy and cooked to my liking. For a side I had a white-cheddar baked potato, but our server mentioned that all sides were interchangeable. For dessert I had the chocolate peanut cake — rich but delicious. The Yachtsman was truly an experience — the food and service were top drawer and I would definitely recommend for a special treat.

Before our visit, I was surprised that the rating for this steakhouse was only 3.5 stars when I had heard such amazing things through people I know. but then as I dived deeper into the low star reviews, I see that the food wasn’t the reason. We somehow scored reservations on NYE(after a few hours of repetitive refreshing of the reservation portion of our My Disney app) and I couldn’t had had a better last meal of 2014. Our server was Yun and she was fantastic. She was efficient, funny, unobtrusive and had excellent recommendations. We heard fantastic things about the bread basket. and I was thinking. honestly, how good can it be? Umm… good. REALLY good. The onion rolls, with the Vermont sea salted butter and a roasted garlic glove? Yeah, I’ll have 10, thanks. We shared the caesar salad for a starter, at Yun’s recommendation. It was outstanding. I am a pretty big fan of the tableside caesar at Bull & Bear but this took the cake. The dressing was amazing– and it also included big pieces of shaved parmesan, homemade croutons, proscuitto and candied lemon(Which was outstanding by the way… why haven’t more people thought of this!!!) For the entrée, we decided to share the 32oz porterhouse for 2. They age the steaks in house and this was a 21 day aging process. It came out sizzling on a skillet, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Crispy on the outside and unbelievable tender on the inside. It was accompanied by the best caramelized onions I’ve ever had(Yun said it was a combination of 7 or 8 types of onions), creamed Gruyère spinach and mushrooms. Incredible. It also came with some of the best potatoes au gratin I’ve ever had.(And I’ve eaten a lotta PAG in my time) We were way too full for dessert, but capped the night off with delicious espresso(to follow up the bottle of wine we drank) All around, a wonderful experience. Yes, some people were underdressed which annoys me as well. Who goes out to eat at a nice restaurant in a hoodie?! But it is Disney after all… However, the bottom line was that the food was so good that I don’t care if I had to dine next to a bunch of hairy guys in Speedos.
