Oaks ‘N’ Pines RV Park

Should have listened to reviews… the owner was more than happy to take our money. but owner came at us while we were walking out dogs so hostile I felt seriously threatened. caused an anxiety attack and I had to lie down and take my medicine. we had simply misunderstood the rules and had apologized when he attacked us. he did not relent and threatened to evict us for a simple infraction. the park is nearly empty… now we understand why. he needs anger management, social skills and medications. he is a seriously scary man and shouldn’t be allowed to work with the public.
Oh and the wifi is a joke…

Just a note. I’m a full timer and I listen to advise like this. I won’t be stopping by this place.

First I want to say, the owner is obnoxious! I was at my site and needed help with TV channels. I called him to ask, and he said he didn’t go out to the sites everyday to see what channels they had I just ask which one was FOX, he hung up. I wouldn’t stay here again!

This had to be the worst campground I have ever stayed in. First my camp site flooded, had to jump out of my truck to a dry spot, had to jump to the concrete pad that the picnic table sat on, the owner never tried to pump the water away. Muddy from the night I got there. Came back late afternoon, I followed a rig into the park so he stopped at the office witch blocked the driveway. I started to go down one of the lanes witch the owner had marked one way, but it’s not a road, and it’s not like I can’t see if anyone is coming. The owner, Jim, comes racing up on his 4 wheeler like I was getting ready to commit the crime of the century. He stood at my truck window ranting and raving, «this is one way.» After a long day of work, all I wanted was to go to my camper. I explained that he should have made his drive a little wider and I would have been able to get around the check-​in camper. He just keep ranting, yelling and screaming. And yes I told him where to stick it. Then he raises his hands and says «Thats it. You’re out of here. Get out of my campground,» over and over. I told him I paid for a week and I was staying so get over it. I have never been talked to so disrespectfully in my life. I saw him chase other people down for going the wrong way night after night. As I stated, this is the worst place I have ever stayed.
Oh did I forget to mention the interstate noise? Horrific.
Terrible owner.
Keep on driving. That’s my advice.

It’s kept up well and nice level pads. Too close to the loud interstate for me. There seems to be a section of the park for overnighters and a different part (shaded) for the long term’rs. We stayed two nights. The sites were very tight.
I used Passport America for our 50% off. Nothing much to do for the kids here. No pool, no fishing, etc.
Owner is a bit of a stickler for following the rules on parking and procedure. But it is a clean park for a reason.

So, I just moved my entire family 3000 miles from Seattle WA to Lake City FL. I called 3 months prior to the move to insure that we would have facilities. The owner and I spent almost 2 hours on the phone, talking about everything from the location and the price to how to get my children to school, as we would be long term residents while we looked for a house to buy. One of the concerns I had was the «prices reflect 2 person occupancy» on their website, but there was no listing for additional persons. Since I had my wife, my 2 children and my elderly father with me, I wanted to insure we were covered. The owner and I discussed my children, the amenities at this location that would be of use to them. We also discussed my father and his desire to own a park such as this one. There is NO WAY these folks were unaware of the number of people staying. We have a 30′ RV that sleeps 10, so we had plenty of room. The Electricity was going to be a separate metered bill, and I even went so far as to mention that this would offset the additional heads.
Over the following 3 months, I called again to confirm the price and our arrival time. We got to the facility on Sunday, after a FINAL call Saturday to confirm. Upon our arrival, I was told that it would be three dollars each for my additional family, and that it was nightly. Another 300 bucks a month that I was NOT expecting, and a rate that put this RV park in line with renting an apartment. Had I known this before hand, I would have made other arrangements.
The owner was unrelenting, made no apologies, made no offer to reduce this surprise price and didn’t even bother to let me have the night to find another option. It was «too bad so sad» and have a nice life.
After reading the previous review, and having this experience, I can understand why these people want to sell. They are not cut out to have a business that caters to people. I would recommend the Walmart parking lot over dealing with this level of indifference and inconsideration.

Can not give a good review. It was clean enough. The owner was very nasty. He must not need our business. Rude to the point that we felt threatened for our safety. Too close to I 10 — heard traffic all night.
