History

Established in 1975.

In 1957, a young John E. Zignego started in the insurance industry with W.A. Lang Agency. Eight years later, he went to work for Sonnen Insurance Agency in St. Paul, MN where he received his first opportunity to become an agent. In 1975, he purchased the agency from George Sonnen and changed the name to Sonnen-​Zignego Agency Inc. Three years later, with a growing clientele in the East Metro, John decided to move the agency from St. Paul to the suburb of Lake Elmo.

In 1980, he changed the name to the present name, Zignego Agency Inc. Over the years, the company has continued to grow and serve the East Metro and Western Wisconsin with all of its insurance needs. Today there are three generations in the business. John J. (Rusty) has taken over as president, and his twin sons, John R. and Josh have joined the agency. Zignego Agency Inc. continues to be a family-​owned agency that takes pride in the services we offer to our clients.
