Ez Smog Check

If you are going to complain about fees, read the state regulations on smog check services. It’s all there in black and white; as established by the great state of Kalifornia.
The guys here are competent and reliable. I have brought all of my «test only» cars here (and there have been several) and even a few of the «test & repair» cars. I have never had a problem getting the test done, or waiting too long.

Avoid this shop and go somewhere else.
They have a bunch of add on fees that are tacked on that i have never paid for at other shops before. Such as a $ 12 transmission fee (not certificate) and another bogus $ 15 fee (i forget what they call it, i think it was extra profit fee). This on top of the Smog check fee, certificate fee, and if you have a truck or suv there’s another fee.
In addition, they told me to call ahead before coming, to make sure they have an opening. Which i did, but as you can guess, when i got there. They couldn’t take me.
Save yourself time and money and go else where.

Since my last visit to this shop just two months ago, another one of my cars came due for a smog check. I was planning on coming back, but alas the $ 10 off coupon was removed from their web site.
In the absence of a discount, I can’t recommend this place over the next shop down the street. If you check my other reviews, you’ll see the one I ended up going to instead. It’s a block away and $ 10 less, so what else could I do?

Used them for my smog check. I was the 1^st and only one customer there on a weekday morning.
FYI: Lots of extra costs. Extra cost for the Certificate and an extra cost for electronically sending a copy to DMV (mandatory). Extra cost if SUV.
It took about 30 minutes to complete the whole process.
The owner/​operator I dealt with was nice. He assured me before my car took the test that it would pass. All the newer model cars pass. And why shouldn’t they?
Maybe the DMV should only mandate this test for late/​older model cars. This is a racket California dreamed up.
Anyway…I’m giving this business a good grade because they did their job professionally and politely and didn’t take advantage of me, a woman. Thank you very much.
I’d use them again next time.
