Grace Christian Schools is committed to providing a Christ-​centered education integrating spiritual, academic, social, physical, and emotional training leading to a life of commitment and service to God. Grace Christian Elementary School uses a curriculum that encompasses the development of the whole child. It is appropriately individualized and is centered around a strong, basic education that includes computer, art, music, physical education, Spanish and Chapel, which is taught by loving and talented teachers.

History

Established in 2004.

Grace Christian Schools is a ministry of Grace Community Church of Saddleback Valley. We are an outreach ministry providing quality Christian education.

The mission of our Elementary School is to help children develop and mature in a positive, Christ-​centered environment that integrates faith and learning by emphasizing Biblical training and academic excellence.

Our Preschool curriculum emphasizes monthly thematic teaching units. Our basic approach includes «hands-​on» learning, literature-​based activities, and an emphasis on both creative and dramatic play. As a Christian school, we place a very strong emphasis on providing a Biblical foundation through Bible stories and Christian character traits. The children are taught these important truths during our daily chapel time.

Kim W.

Manager

After serving two years as the Elementary Secretary, Kim has moved on up to Office Manager. She has two grown children, Nicole and Craig. One of the greatest blessings in Kim’s life are her two precious granddaughters, Cadence and Kendall, and her grandson, Evan. The other highlight of her life is her 3 pound Maltese, Zoe. Kim enjoys spending time with family and friends, Bible Study, reading, shopping, Disneyland, gardening, sports and outdoor activities such as: tennis, hiking, and the beach. She is the Children’s Minister at her church and her favorite scripture is Romans 8:28, «And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.» Something you might not know about Kim is that she still holds sports records in Oregon, from high school and college. She played volleyball, basketball, track and tennis. Kim’s high scoring college basketball game was 58 points!

My kids love it here. (My oldest is in Kindergarten and my youngest is in Pre-​kindergarten). This is what I love about it:
1. Focus on God. Everything from chapel (daily for Preschool, weekly for Elementary), bible studies and arts and crafts which are based on bible stories.
2. Communication. You know what they are doing every hour of every day they are there. The teachers and staff are quick to respond to any concern you may have via email or phone.
3. Small class size. Children are challenged at their level rather than having to wait for other kids to catch up. No bored kids here!
4. PTF (parent teacher fellowship). Since it’s a private school, the parents directly affect what happens in the school rather than a bunch of bureaucrats.

My daughter attended two years of preschool at Grace and is almost done with a year of kindergarten there. I cannot say enough positive things about this school! The teachers are wonderful. They take a vested interest in each and every child. The class sizes are small and what a difference that makes! I have 3 older kids who went through Elementary in public schools and although some of their teachers were good, they just couldn’t give the kids the attention the Grace teacher’s can with the smaller class sizes. I have also had experience with another private Christian school and I can tell you that I am much more impressed by the standards upheld at Grace and by the Grace staff. They are truly Godly examples for my daughter. Mrs. Brakebush, the principal, is a kind, compassionate woman, with a brilliant mind who runs a tight ship. If there ever is a challenge, she will address it immediately and make sure it is handled fairly and discreetly. I plan to keep my daughter there throughout her elementary school years!

Hurrah! My wonderful preschool I attended almost 30 years ago is still the amazing school I remember and I am so excited my son is in their newest class for early three’s. GCS has added a class for early three year olds (ie two years nine months to start) and waived the potty training requirement so now my son doesn’t have to wait to start. Plus being the most affordable school around and offering a truly wonderful environment to teach my son makes it even better! Caring teachers, well kept play ground and so much more. Highly recommend!

I would give a six out of five star rating! Best Christian school around! Both kids did excellent academically in a wonderful Christian environment. There were opportunities at Grace that weren’t available anywhere else. I’m very proud of both of them for what they have achieved there.

Our children were in the public school system and we were not happy. So we started looking into every Christian private school in the surrounding areas and none of them had everything I wanted until I walked into Grace! We have one 1st grader and one preschooler and they both are growing spiritually and educationally! Grace covers all the areas that meant the most to us. A quality education, gifted teachers, helpful staff, after school activities you name it! What I especially loved was the family feeling I get everytime I’m there. All the children (from K-​6) knew my daughters name within the first two weeks of attending! Our chidren absolutely love their school and so do we! God is certainly blessing Grace Christian School!

All I can say is this is the most wonderful Preschool and Elementary school. Both of our boys attended the preschool and now both are in the eElementary school. Grace is a perfect name for this school. Not only do they have Grace but Love for the children and parents. Sandy, Kim and the office staff are amazing. The” teachers also amazing”, quoted from my 3rd grader. We love it here at Grace I think you will too!

This school is so special. I am so glad that I found it! All the teachers and staff are so great with the kids. Everyone knows who my son is. I have a son in Preschool for his second year and he will be in their Transitional Kindergarten program next year. My younger son will also start in September. If you are looking for an amazing program you should tour Grace!

I loved this school from the moment we stepped onto the campus. My daughter went to pre-​school, Transitional Kindergarten and is now enrolled for Kindergarten. I love the feeling that my child is not just a number I feel that they truly «know» her. We see teachers outside of school at the grocery store and they immediately recognize my daughter and engage with her. Secondly, this is truly a Christian School. God is not kept in a little compartment and saved for chapel. I love how we start every school event in prayer. I am amazed at how much my daughter has grown spiritually as well. If you are looking for a great Christian School look no further!

Our kids have attended preschool at Grace Christian and two of them also went to Kindergarten at Grace. The teachers, teacher’s aides and the staff are very dedicated and caring. They truly look out for each child’s well being. They provide the students a loving learning environment with a solid biblical foundation as well as strong academics. The preschool and elementary curriculums are excellent and well-​balanced, and prepare each student well for the next step. We highly recommend Grace!

We have attended Grace as a preschooler, as well as kindergarten through 3rd grade. We have been extremely happy here. The staff really know your child, and it is a safe environment. We love that the elementary students pledge their faith to the flag, the christian flag, and the Bible together every morning, then do a few laps of exercise before starting their day in the classroom. We love that they offer, computer, art, spanish and music to supplement the academic curriculum. We love the playground supervisors who really know and love your children. Our son has grown a lot spirtually, and academicaly at Grace.

We love the curriculum, staff and teachers here! They have Chapel time centered on the Word of God, Chapel songs that are Biblically based and art time, circle time, etc. We had looked at a couple other preschools that were slightly less driving time, but GCS blew them out of the water! It’s worth the extra drive to have this foundation so early on in life for your child so if you are debating, you should definitely go for a tour here.
On top of that, Grace is extremely reasonable for Preschool tuition. It is comparable or even lower in cost to other larger preschools in the area.

It was a blessing to have found Grace when searching for a preschool for my son! I highly recommend this school to any families looking for a safe and loving place for their children to learn!
My son has food allergies and Grace is a peanut and treenut free school and they are very serious about the health of their children. This is a huge relief as a parent.
My son loves school. His teachers and the staff are amazing. The students and parents are all very friendly!
I look forward to our second son attending Grace next year!

This has the consensus best pre-​school in the area. Get on the waiting list early. They actually have – get this – a curriculum and development goals for their students. All the other preschools are glorified daycare centers.
