This place offers excellent service quality at fair service prices. I’ve been coming here for a year and have never been disappointed.

Was in the area and needed a cut. Made an appt ($ 5 extra above the regular $ 17). Place was doing good business, but not too packed. All 8 barbers seemed to had clean fades going on which is rare to see since most shops specialize in gentlemens cuts now. I would actually be down to get cut by any of them if I couldn’t make an appt.

I loved my undercut ! Emmy did a great job! Highly reccomend coming here. Staff was all friendly and the shop was clean. I will be returning.

If you’re going to get a haircut here, pay the $ 5 extra charge for a set appointment. The wait is 30 – 45 minutes when it’s busy. Some of the stylists looked like they knew how to give a great fade but unfortunately my stylist… not so much. She rushed the session and paid no attention to detail. I’ll stay with my normal barber at V’s in Foothill

Sleeved gal on the far right had 0 personality, which is fine, but not much skill either. Looking around the place during my cut it appeared maybe 2 – 4 out of 8 barbers actually gave a crap about the customers. Sorry, won’t be returning or recommending. $ 15 for a cut

Went there after reading incredible reviews on Unilocal and also book an appointment as mentioned in some of the reviews. Have been on look out for a good barber shop since I moved into the area, seems like finally found one .
Overall extremely satisfied with my hair cut and got exactly what I requested from my barber .
Definitely going back and let’s see if they are consistent.

Finally a good barbershop, I live in Irvine and its a hassle spending an arm at some of the places around here. Both girls there have cut my hair and do a really good job. Haven’t waited much but considering I’ve gone weekdays.

Best haircut and shave I’ve had. Consistently excellent.

Went with my husband here over the weekend. Good service. Clean and friendly. Guys are meticulous here and my hubs left with a nice clean hair cut. I’m sure he’s making this his regular spot now. Can’t go wrong here.

Happy to hear John has his own shop. I sent my friend to twin peaks to look for barber mad skills John. I met John and his family 8 years ago he was a master barber then… I highly recommend John.

Because they expect you to wait.
Got there at 9 with one person ahead of me, 1 hour later still waiting for the dude who normally cuts my hair when a guy walks in and sits down, and within a minute gets up to get a cut from the guy I was waiting for. They have skills, but my time is more valuable to me than waiting all day for you.

Awesome place for men’s haircut. They take their time & always do a perfect job. The shop mascot, Roscoe (owner John’s dog) is super cool too. Hoefully you get to meet him when you come in. It’s best to make an appointment because they are always busy which is a sign of a great barber shop. Hands down best place I’ve brought my son. He likes his lines sharp. Great place. 10 stars if I could give it to them.

I’ve been going here for sometime and I wanted to give an honest review for those of you really looking for an in depth opinion about this place.
I’ll start off by saying that although this place does amazing work, don’t just pop in on your break or on the weekend and expect to be out quick unless you have a super easy cut job like a buzz. Not only is this place often filled with customers but it’s also apparent that the barbers themselves are doing their job to the best of their ability. Both of those combined could easily make for a 45min to an hour long visit depending on your needs. You can speed up the process by calling ahead and making an appointment if you are willing to pay the small extra charge for it.
Each barber does their job a little bit differently from one another. That being said, if you are new and/​or haven’t found someone specific yet, it’s good to experiment with everyone before you finally tag someone to be your personal transaction. I personally have had my hair cut by 2 – 3 different barbers there before I finally stuck to Jennifer, whom I shamelessly promote and admire her attention to detail and natural eye for men’s hair specifically. Now I always call ahead to make sure she’s there before I go. Find who works best with you and for your hair.
Speaking of which, although this should apply to ALL barber shops, it helps to go in and know precisely what you want. Communicate with the barber and be specific so there is nothing left to interpretation. It will also speed the process up. Just a tip!
Overall, the atmosphere gives off a modern, urban man vibe and is a great chill spot that always has the game running or some other program on the big screen. The barbers are hard working and have their own unique style, so experiment with a few before sticking to someone and remember to save yourself some time just to make the experience more enjoyable for yourself by not feeling rushed.
Also, if you happen to show up on the rare occasions when John brings his dog to work, consider yourself lucky! He’s awesome!

Best haircut my son has ever had done, he’s only five and a half haha but he wears his hair short so he does need to get it done every month or so. He picked a picture after I helped him look up a «cool» haircut on Google. It was short and faded on the back/​sides with a side part, and long at the top. The barber used wax to give it that greaser kinda look. It was amazing. Everyone loved it!
It’s not cheap so I can’t afford to take him all the time but we’ll definitely be back on special occasions to achieve that super stylish haircut since dad has tried more than once to take him to his hairstylist to prove me wrong by saying anyone can get it done. but nope! This guys know how to do it best so far.

It took me 12 years to finally find a spot near my house in south county that I can trust and count on for a clean cut… alas, Johns Barber Lounge! Worth the wait if that’s your thing and also worth the extra $ for appointment. this place is hot, don’t wait last minute.
Perhaps a website/​app for scheduling/​posts/​pics/​appointments will bring up their already satisfactory service.

Where is the negative stars?
Not wat i wanted. I was very specific about what i wanted maybe they shouldn’t have a female doing mens cuts. Shits not even straight. Now time to go pay someone else to fix thr mistake.

I always get cut here when I can. The new location is clean and nice, has a bathroom, and a decent lounge to wait in. The waits are a little long time to time but hey, that’s what you get for a good cut. I’ve gotten probably over 20 cuts the last year from them and only one was a bad cut. I won’t knock for that because no one is perfect.
Like another reviewer said, it seems that John is on point with his shop, but really does probably need an assistant to take care of some things. Definitely hustling on the phone and cutting is something I don’t see other shops do but he does it well.
Every barber has a little different style, so make sure you tell them clearly what you want. Everyone has different preferences but they definitely take the time to make sure you don’t have any extra hairs standing up by the time your done. They also do straight razor fades, line ups, as well, so if that’s your thing this is the spot.

I just found my new barber shop! This place opened up about a year ago, and the staff is really friendly as soon as you walk in. A bit hard to find since the sign is in the corner of a small complex but there’s only one parking lot for the entire complex so you won’t miss it. This place seems to always be crowded and they do the number system so make sure to grab a number right when you walk in. They usually have about 5 barbers working, and they all seem really experienced. This isn’t a normal cheap barber that cares more about quantity over quality in a day, and the ambiance gives off a hip type of vibe. It is $ 15 for a cut, and when I was done, it felt like I got a $ 40 haircut. I’ve been to a ton of different barbers, including really pricey ones and this place cuts just as good.
I was lucky enough to get cut from ANGELO, and the attention to detail that this guy has is amazing. He spent quality time on my fade and made it looks flawless. His scissor work on the top of my combover was also perfect. I asked him to texture it, which most barbers don’t know how to do and it looked/​felt great.
Other people on Unilocal also recommend the other barbers but I would definitely go with Angelo if I had to choose. Can’t go wrong here so try it out!

Went in to clean up my beard. Nothing crazy just basically make it neat. The dude ended up messing up. So I walked out and came to Johns…
I walked in there was no wait. They sat me down asked what I wanted and I explained the situation. Few minutes later they cleaned me up and sent me on my way…
This place is legit… staff is great and as always this place takes care of me. Defenenitely one of the best real barber shops in So Cal
