I found this place searching through groupon… I checked out their Unilocal page & felt like most of the reviews were generally positive & seemed legit! I booked my appointment & they saw me within a week. The scheduling process was very easy & the information I received was clear & upfront (as far as pricing & groupon discount). The whole first appointment was quick, yet thorough. The doctor was friendly & helpful. Ralph was very helpful as well. The whole staff, actually, was really very kind. I had a great experience & I recommended other friends to go after visiting!

I highly recommend this optometry practice. The best eye doctor I have ever had! If you’re looking for a place that cares for their patients and has doctors that are knowledgeable, then this is it.
Even better, the staff here does not try to up sell you at every turn, when it’s that time of the appointment to purchase your frame and lenses.
5 stars — Dr. Lucy DeMoss is great. I have been visiting the same doctor at this practice for over four years now. Dr. DeMoss is very thorough and I never feel rushed during my appointment. She answers all of my questions and provides suggestions and explanations about caring for my eyesight.
5 stars — Service is outstanding. Their staff is so friendly and always explains each step of the eye check up. They take time to ask questions and genuinely want to get to know you.
I started coming here when I was looking for a new optometrist versus the LensCrafters type places I frequented before. My friend recommended this place to me originally and I’m so thankful she did. Oh, and now, she lives seven hours away, but will still only come here to get her eye check up. That’s not a mystery to me! I would do the same too!

If you’re looking for an eye care place this is it! The staff is amazing! They are super nice and patient. They taught me how to put contacts for the first time. They were patient and it was a fun experience. The doctors are very nice and knowledgeable. It’s a clean and very nice place close to come. Would recommend it to friends and family.

I was lucky enough to find their sister optometry office in La Habra (Eye Care for You) run primarily by Dr. Michaels’s wife, Dr. Josephine Vu, three years ago through a deal on Living Social. I was no longer on my parents’ vision insurance but needed to see the eye doctor badly. They saved me a boat-​load, even WITH new glasses, and I was thrilled to find they had new technology that eliminated the need for the age-​old dilation process. (Been going to the eye doctor since I was 2, so as one could imagine, I was tired of needing those funky-​looking plastic shades and someone else to drive me home afterward.)
I admittedly let 3 years go by, and my now-​husband suggested we find an eye doctor (where we’re living, in South County) for both of us. I remembered Eye Care for You had a sister office in Lake Forest and I was able to have them transfer my paperwork and get some started for my husband no problem!
We were able to schedule back-​to-​back appts on a SATURDAY which was super convenient. Viviana, Amanda, Cynthia, and Dr. Lucy Demoss were super nice and helpful along every step of the way, very welcoming to us as new patients. Very pleased with their sunglasses and glasses collection! (Although, my husband, per the usual, did find it difficult to locate a pair that works with his face.)
My only complaint was that they performed a contacts fitting on my husband and he was going to take home several TRIAL pairs before making a decision on ordering any. At check out, we were told the trial contacts would COST. We were not alerted of this before, and therefore returned them before leaving.
Overall: Clean, welcoming environment (even with a play station for kids!), friendly and knowledgeable. service!

I have been coming here since I have been 6 years old (so for over 19 years!!). This company had been nothing but practically perfect and professional in every way! They take the time to get to know you as a person, not just as a patient. They are super patient and if you have questions they are more than happy to answer them no matter how small they are or how long it takes to break them down for you! And they really know everything there is to know about optometry. They have all the latest and greatest technology, and even though some of the side tests aren’t always covered by insurance, they’re really helpful to take in order to detect early onsets of potential eye infections/​diseases. They’re very worth the extra $ 25. Otherwise the other machines are so technical and can detect just about anything and are totally painless!
I wouldn’t go anywhere else to have my eyes checked, nor get my contacts or glasses anywhere else!

I travel constantly for business which makes it nearly impossible to make medical appointments; especially for a Sat appointment. South County got me in for a Sat morning with only a 2 day notice. WOW! They also are pleasant, cheerful and treat like they are sincerely happy to assist you. That also is extremely rare in SoCal.

I have been going here for 13 years and always have found the doctors and staff to be knowledgeable, caring and friendly. Trusting your doctors in any field is important and eyesight in my book is near the top. I feel confident knowing I am in good hands. When you can find a doctor who not only is an expert in his field but also has a great bedside manner then you hit the jackpot! I would highly recommend South County Eye Care Optometric Group. Dr. Michaels is awesome!

Was here for my eye exam for the first time today and loved it! The staff was awesome and so friendly! I had gone to 2 different optometrists before this but South County has definitely been my best experience so far!

I purchased a voucher so that I could get an eye exam in order to get contact lenses. No where on the voucher does it say not for a contact lens exam. It only said that you cannot use this voucher to buy contact lenses. When you are there they don’t tell you that until you are halfway through the exam. They also try to scare you into buying more tests to prevent cancer etc. but they don’t tell you the price. The assistant says we can run some tests to prevent all these diseases and then you are thinking «great!» And then she says its an extra $ 100.
The doctor himself comes in later and tries to sell you stuff too. I asked about the contact lens exam and he said that’s an extra $ 75. The voucher cost $ 49 and says an eye exam and $ 150 to spend on frames ($ 265 value). That means that an eye exam is regularly $ 115. An exam costs about $ 100 everywhere else, and that includes a contact lens exam. So please tell me where I am saving??? The whole thing ended up costing me $ 330 and I still never got an eye exam for contact lenses. This place is a ripoff!!! Never ever go here. Boycott this business now.

She went way above and beyond to call my insurance company with questions about my exam; emailed me my prescription, and is just incredibly friendly and welcoming. Also, two different staff members helped me with pre-​exam tests and post-​exam questions — everyone was very friendly and professional.
–Doctors: Dr. DeMoss is wonderful. The best optometrist I’ve seen — very friendly, professional, patient, fully present in the appointment.
I drive all the way from L.A. to go here — they’re that great.

Got a Groupon deal and went in a couple days ago. The service was GREAT — the staff and Dr. DeMoss were all friendly, welcoming and very informative. So the reason for the average review is because of their mark up on product prices. Like other reviews state, their service is awesome but you can find much cheaper prices elsewhere for the exact same products.
The Groupon deal I got included an eye exam and $ 150 credit towards glasses. Even with the credit, I would have spent almost $ 400 for a pair of glasses which is outrageous. When I looked online for the same frames, I found frames that were less than double the price they want to charge. I emailed the office asking why the frames were so expensive and they explained that their frames came with a one year warranty and were guaranteed to be authentic. Except, when I checked the frames’ designer’s actual website, their frames were still 15% cheaper than what South County Eye Care prices are.
At the end of the day, I’ll probably still need to purchase the glasses from them simply because I have the $ 150 credit and I’ve already spent the time finding a pair of frames I liked. But, other than an eye exam, I won’t be coming back and won’t be recommending them to anyone because of the mark ups on their products.

The doctor and staff was beyond sweet and accommodating. I don’t think I have ever been to an office with such amazing customer service.

I came here in search of some nice designer frames as the optometrist I went to for my exam had a lousy selection of glasses. I was pleasantly suprised by South County’s wide selection of designer glasses and happy that they are open two Saturdays a month.
I ordered a really pretty pair of Kate Spade glasses and anti-​glare lenses, and they came in about 6 days, which was under the week timeframe that they quoted me. When I got home, I noticed that my right lens was cracked. It was annoying to go back a second time and wait another week for my glasses while they were being fixed. After my purchase and being inconvenienced, I found the same frames at multiple stores for a much better price.

I was referred here by a friend and I am glad I made the appt. Dr. DeMoss is wonderful at what she does.
They have a great selection of glasses and sunglasses to look at and try on.
The one thing I found weird was the additional eye testing for an additional price? I guess I got used to my old ophthalmologist who just did all the testing as a part of my yearly eye care routine.
I do have to get a new pair of glasses and I don’t see why it wouldn’t be here!

You’re supposed to get your eyes checked once a year but I can’t even recall a single time I’ve gotten my eyes checked — maybe when I was really young. Who knows?
The clinic is clean and super professional. Parking sucks but luckily I went close to the end of day.
There are a series of exams and then a consultation with the doctor. They did various tests to check vision, to see my response to things, to check my optic nerve, and if there are any diseases in the eye or any indicator of other things like cholesterol etc. Luckily, everything checked out well.
Then, you get to see the doctor. She goes over all the tests, explains stuff, lets you look at the inside of your eyeballs (very cool) and then you do a series of readings. Everything good.
I explained some issues I was having and she did recommend reading glasses but alas, I know those just make things worse — not better so I skipped on that. My eyes are still good. I can read stuff really well. I’ll live.
