The Prominence Hotel and Suites

It has been some time since we stayed here. We stayed for a total of 13 days. I still remember the AWFUL front desk and service. We stayed in January of 2016. The front desk staff gal was rude. She would decide she didn’t want to help or deal with situations so she would just walk away and refuse to come back. She would call the manager or resolve issues. She would just walk away and not come to the desk unless someone else was there. Then she would come back and help them (while ignoring us). We attempted to check out early, which we were given permission to do ahead of time. She said they would not only charge us for the whole stay but charge us an early check out fee too. Then when I questioned her about it she walked away and wouldn’t talk to me or my husband. It was the worst service I have ever received from a hotel.
The room was ok. It lacked linens for the pullout and the front service desk seemed to think we were lying about needed linens. At first she said they were already there. When she finally came to deliver the linens she looks and then said that we had a different pullout. She never apologized for essentially calling us liars.
In the end it was all settled with the manager. We didn’t get charged for the whole stay. He apologized for the «new hire» but not for the way she treats people. I won’t be staying here anytime soon.
The employee’s picture is on the site because others have had issues with her. I won’t mention her name but she is very easily found.

Reserved a room, received a confirmation with room rates. Four days later received another conformation with different rates. Spoke with Matt who accused me of changing the original e-​mail confirmation rates. While trying to get this situation corrected, he stated that they can change rates when their is a demand for their rooms. He then cancelled my reservation. Cannot give a rating since I did not stay there, but agree with other reviews, seems like the employees are miserable and hate their jobs.

All the staff were great, want to give a shout out to the night supervisor Matthew and Curtis at the front desk. we were there for a softball tournament over the holiday weekend and they were very helpful helping us find places for our girls to eat and accommodating our group with what ever we needed! Breakfast was good and the rooms were comfortable and clean.

Great hotel to stay in but at same time it’s smells like food on some rooms when u first walk in.

Every person that works here hates their job. My room is a disaster. Cable is out, computer does not work. To top it off, I just went to call the front desk and the phone didn’t work. Tech guy came and looked at cable, says there’s nothing he can do. I believe him due to the fact there’s a 1995 bubble tv hooked up to a 2016 digital cable box. Nobody offered to switch me rooms. I want my money back I’m not sitting here in silence or watching netflix on my phone. Never again.

A word of advise, go to another hotel. If you can’t find another one, pay cash and don’t EVER give them your credit card info unless you wanna be overcharged by $ 250 like me.

I am currently sitting in my room as I write this review. my husband had checked me and my 3 children and himself into this hotel room last night. We picked this place because upon arrival we asked if we could have a late checkout at 2 o’clock. The guy at the front desk said that he would write it in the system for 2:30 and a note to not charge us. So while my husband is at work and I am here with three children under the age of 3. The maids knock on our door despite the do not disturb sign and asks if I’m leaving today I told her yes at 2. About a half-​hour later Chris from downstairs called and asks if I need any assistance leaving my room because 11 was check out time. I said no, my husband told the person downstairs at check in that we would need a late check out and that he had marked it in the system. Chris wanted the name of the individual who checked us in last night, I have no idea the name of the person but I said it was the person who worked last night, it cannot be that hard to figure it out. He then says he will call me back, and when he does he said that they need me out by 1 o’clock because they are booked and they need the maids to clean the room, I told him I have 3 children in here and my husband is at work with our only vehicle I don’t know what they want me to do because we chose this place based on the late check-​out. So I then have to call my husband at work and get him out of a meeting so that he can call the front desk and get this situation taken care of, my husband calls me and tells me that everything has been handled and that we are good with our 2 o’clock check out. Then someone knocks on our door and it’s the maid staff again seeing if they can clean the room and if I am leaving yet. To inconvenience someone who is paying to stay here to this extent is ridiculous I am flabbergasted at the passive aggressive behavior and the blatant ignorance of the staff, communicate with each other so that you don’t need to inconvenience your guests with your lack of customer service, it comes off as lazy and unprofessional to expect to receive the name of the person helping us last night, in order to have my story hold any water. you work here, you have a schedule, look it up see who worked what shift, figure this stuff out on your own and don’t call my room 3 times and have the maids knocking on my door twice asking if I’m leaving yet. completely unprofessional.

TERRIBLE – Stayed 2 weeks– Would NOT stay here again… very disappointed in our overall experience.
CONS:
–Extremely weak shower water pressure (I have very long hair so it caused prolonged showers…)
–Very VERY poor management/​unprofessional
— laundry facility – broken machines (when brought to the managements attention they said «the machines probably won’t be replaced any time soon due to being a budget hotel” – his exact words.
— 2 coil electric stoves in our room (one didn’t work and the other takes 15 – 20 min to heat up)
–pool ice cold
–elevator takes forever
— on 2÷13÷16, my husband went to the front desk to attempt to buy medicine for his headache. After waiting at the counter for 10 min for help and a line of customers (approx. 15 people, some with kids) building up, the staff did not come out to help. After 15 min. Of knocking on the wooden counter and yelling out for assistance, he jumped the counter to look for someone in the back office and found the manager just sitting at his desk in his office. The Mgr Was startled and jumped out of his seat when he saw my hubby and asked if he jumped the counter.
My Hubby told him he knocked and yelled for 10 min and since no one came out he thought maybe there was something wrong so he admitted to jumping the counter to make sure there wasn’t a medical emergency, Then told him he needed help and there were several customers in the lobby waiting for help as well. The manager continued to keep his office door closed and continued to not come out of his office, leaving my hubby and the others continuing to wait in the lobby for what he described as forever.
Manager only came out when someone called 911 to have him checked on since he wouldn’t come out of his office. Mgr told the police the computer system was (supposedly) down, then went back to his office and closed the door.
But he didn’t have the professional courtesy to let EVERYONE know that – instead he left customers waiting clueless/​endlessly in the lobby.
Needless to say, We checked out the very next day and went to a different hotel… it was most definitely worth the comfort and peace of mind!
PROS:
–free hot breakfast (but they monitor what you take and count how much food you ask for). However, I’m pregnant with 2 children and a husband – on our first morning, I left my family in the room and went to the cafeteria alone to see what they had. After having only one plate of food, I asked for a 2^nd plate to bring to my family. The chef questioned me uncomfortably and asked me how many people I had in my room because I asked for seconds. The next morning I brought my whole family with me to prove I wasn’t lying and he told me he looked up my account (you have to write your name and room # on your meal ticket request form) in the computer and adjusted how many «meal tickets» I was allowed – didn’t even know they were counting! For being «complimentary» breakfast he made me feel like he was paying for it out of his own pocket.

I tried to look up the owner of the hotel to notify him of how poorly I think his hotel is being managed, but his info is not listed online (that I could find). I find the positive reviews extremely hard to believe.
The lobby has a very extensive collection of amythest crystal Rock geodes – it appears to be the only thing the owner has invested his money in this hotel. The employees do not seem happy here and it reflects in their customer service.

Worst experience EVER! Rude staff. Conditions that would not be legally allowed if inspected. Broken faucet. A toilet that would have problems flushing. Never getting my room serviced except for two times in 7 days even though I had asked multiple times. I was threatened by the manager, who told me he was the owner. I had a staff member Antonio tell me «There is no one above me. «I had my door pounded on saying that my room was not paid for. The room was and I had a confirmation letter with Antonio’s signature. The manager is a Thug. I was kicked out of the room because the owner told me that I did not pay for my room. The room was not only paid for but they had charged the card more then one time. The bank filed a fraud charge on this location. I was made to sit outside and wait for a ride while the manager had threatened my safety and harassed me. The breakfast is alright nothing special. Like a earlier review the shuttle is not free it is only for corporations. This was not stated. My pet was accused of pooping in the room. This is not true. My pet is well trained and if my pet did have a accident I am sure I would have cleaned up the mess. Thank God for the records and receipts because the staff tried to lie about the charges that were mad along with some other fake fees that they had charged after I had a signed documented apology saying that my stay would be discounted. Not only was I not discounted I was over charged. I almost took this place to small claims court. Horrible !! The treatment is inhumane here. They gave me only a small amount of time to leave and would not even call me a Über or cab to come get me since my phone had died. As I was waiting for my Cab I had walked inside to ask to charge my phone and was threatened by the manager once again. Horrible!!! I feel violated and abused and taken advantage of.

Mare !!! OVER CHARGED !! BAD SERVice! KICKED OUT AFTER MY CARD WAS REAPEATEDLY CHARGED WARNING!!! I really wish i could leave 0 stars. So the first day started out ok. Every staff member is super slow, yet i figured they were friendly and this hotel is only like 150 a night. I felt it was cheap. Well the first time I was agitated was when house keeping never showed up. I have a pet and I took my pet out and walked around for a hour and returned to have a room that was dirty. Second day I was on a conference call, house keeping never came they told me «you had the do not disturb sign on «hahahahah I took it off after they came and I spoke to the lady at front desk. I asked twice. She had told me my sign means no one can knock yet I had taken it off. Right after that my dog was barking because house keeping knocked after I had put the do not disturb sign up. hahah. Ok Random. I am on a call and now my dog is going crazy because a staff member in the front who is supposed to be customer service is pounding on my door. Guess why she came. To say my dog is barking hahahahhaha. I told her it was because she is pounding like a maniac on my door. I thought I was told they can not knock when the Do not Disturb sign is up. Ok lets go on. The same night the doors were jammed at the front guess what? I walked around to the front and the staff member was asleep on a chair in the back. Not the first time. Oh to make it better I had lost my key. Guess what. The machine that makes keys. It was of course not working. YAY! Lets top this off the next day no one came to clean my room again even though I asked five times. Guess what the bonus was. I went to take a shower barely touched the faucet. Yes, The knob fell off. I called and of course no one was there to fix it. I went 24 hours without a shower. The next day I had to ask 3 times to have the faucet fixed. Oh I thought I would take the advertised shuttle that they put in the brochure that would be free to guests. Guess what. It was not documented in the brochure that they advertise this feature, yet after I had booked my room here I was told this was only available to corporate reservations. HA! A lot of tricks up their sleeves huh!!! No wonder it was so cheap!!! I called to let Antonio know about all of these problems. Instead of fixing the problem or taking my constructive comments Antonio told «I damaged towels «HA!!! they took pictures. Im a woman. I do wear benefit makeup. Which has never stained my towels. Im a make up artist and esthetician. THis was never brought to my attention until I made a complaint. Now instead of fixing my problem his guest service tactic was to attack me and tell me the towels were ruined and Antonio was taking pictures. Not only that. Yes they do have a free breakfast yet the guest the staff is rude. Now ANtonio did take care of us for four days. I will still never be back again and im very upset and will never come back. Antonio told me there was no one above him to speak to. Well be careful when you stay here. I would advise you do not stay here .WHEN YOU THINK IT COULDNT GET WORST IT DOES !!! ONCE AGAIN I HAD THE DO NOT DISTURB SIGN UP AND THE OWNER STEVE YOMBO COMES POUNDING ON MY DOOR. i GUESS YOU REALLY CANT SLEEP OR TRY TO WORK HERE. I TELL HIM IM BUSY! HE YELLS YOU NEED TO COME TO THE FRONT DESK. STEVE TELLS ME «THE CREDIT CARD IS NOT WORKING». Well again the staff not communicating has caused him to try to run a credit card that he should not run. I told him that. I also let him know Antonio had said we would not be charged I proceeded to let him know of my complaints. Steve told me «If you dont like our property you can leave.» LOL Well I thought they had tried to fix the problem and I was going to consider taking down the Unilocal.Instead the actual owner is worse then the employees. No wonder the employees think they can treat guest this way. He also had asked to speak to «The Gentleman» Why? Does Steve have a problem with women? Steve was very rude to me raising his voice at the front desk and yelling at me. He should be ashamed. NOW I AM OUTSIDE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PAID TO BE HERE. THEY KEEP RUNNING A CARD THAT WAS ALREADY CHARGED. STEVE THREATENED TO ASSAULT ME AND REMOVE ME HIMSELF. I NEEDED A HOUR TO PACK MY ITEMS HE TOLD ME HE WOULD PERSONALLY PUT HIS HANDS ON ME AND MAKE ME LEAVE IF I DID NOT LEAVE IN 30 MIN. HE THREATENED ME SCARED ME AND TRIED TO KICK MY DOG. NOT ONLY THAT I HAVE BANK STATEMENTS PROVING I PAID TO BE HERE. THIS MAN IS A THUG AND DANGEROUS HE BEHAVES IN A VIOLENT AND THREATENING MANOR AND I BELIEVE HE HAS A PROBLEM WITH WOMEN. HE HAD USED SOME VERY DEROGATORY WORDS AGAINST ME AS WELL AS I WAS LEAVING CALLING ME A BITCH AND SAYING WE DID NOT PAY. I AM ACTUALLY AFRAID OF THIS MAN. THIS IS SCARY. BE CAREFUL !! WHAT A NIGHT MARE. MY RIDE IS ON ITS WAY THIS GUY IS SCARY. I RECORDED SOME OF THIS ON MY PHONE.

My first impressions were skeptical as I pulled into the lot. The exterior décor features large water fountains, oriental lion statues, gazelle statues, then other interesting blends of different unrelated items. I was wondering, «what did I get myself into here?» Entering the lobby I was surrounded by so many geodes and interesting rocks that I felt I was either at some geeky rock shop, or a geological museum exhibit. There were other quirky decorations around that had me wondering. The front desk woman greeted me and she was the most pleasant person I have ever met while checking in. She was very easy to speak with and made genuine conversation with me. She also went out of her way to explain all the amenities and features from this property. I can say I have never had anyone at a front desk do such a great job at making me feel welcomed. I have stayed at the most expensive locations around this area and have never been treated so well. She then offered me some warm cookies she had just baked. I walked away from my check in feeling like I was royalty.
As I made my way around the second floor i came across many different vignettes of quirky little décor here and there. I no longer felt it was tacky and really started to appreciate the owners of this fine establishment putting a lot of effort to make this place unique. The room wasn’t anything to really shout out the windows about. It is pretty much standard everything like you would find in any similar hotels. I can say I have nothing negative to say about the rooms at all. On a super positive note, the A/​C unit is my new favorite. You see, I like to reduce the air conditioner to the coldest temperature possible. I want to sleep like a polar bear underneath a mountain of blankets and pillows. The A/​C in this room went all the way down to a shivering 60 degrees. My room was like a meat locker and I totally LOVED it. This is probably the most important thing to me. I hibernated like a baby. It is very rare for me to get a good solid night of sleep my first night at any hotel. This freezing room was the first time I have ever slept so well.
My only negative mark is that there is no fitness center. I am a total gym buff and have to work out daily. Not having a gym available is a major problem for me. Fortunately my corporate office has a gym I can use, so this wont prevent me from returning here.
Overall, I think this will be my hotel from now on when traveling to this area.

This hotel is more than the sum of its amenities. It is the staff, every last member of the team that exemplifies not only excellence in service and accommodation. But, and I’m not exaggerating here: Grace.
They are in my opinion the paragon in hospitality. You’ll waste not only money anywhere else in the area but also the sheer opportunity to experience this joyful, restful place.

Stayed there while having our home tented for termites. Room was clean and functional. Was nice to have a large fridge in the room. We were right by the elevator but the hotel was very quiet. We didn’t hear any other people or the elevator. Walking distance to stores and restaurants. No complaints other than the TV in the bedroom was old and only had channels 2 – 13. The living room TV was a flat screen and had all the channels. I would stay here again. We got a great deal through AAA travel and had no problems at all.

tl;dr — This hotel charges like a higher-​quality hotel when its services rival that of a one-​star motel and has the accountability and foresight of a pre-​pubescent child.

I stayed at this hotel the first weekend of August for a wedding that was in the area. The one star is because of the incredible lack of professionalism and foresight of the staff.
I stayed in a room with 3 other people and because we had requested a room late, the only option we had was a room with a King size bed and a pull out sofa bed. We called weeks ahead and then the day before to ensure that the room would be able to accommodate sleeping for all four of us.
When we got there, the sofa bed had a «Sorry, but the pull out bed is broken at this time» sign on it. When we confronted the front desk about this, they claimed that they had no idea about it even though we had called multiple times to check on the room. Also, we found other sofa beds out in the dumpster in the back. Additionally, they could not give us a cot the first night because they were all checked out. I find this lack of foresight to check rooms and have appropriate back up appalling for a hotel. When we were finally able to get a «full size cot», it turned out actually to only be a twin size, lumpy mattress. DO NOT TRUST THAT THEIR SOFA BEDS WILL WORK EVEN IF THEY CLAIM IT DEFINITELY WORKS.
Side note: The toilet also could not be flushed multiple times and you had to wait 20 minutes in between each flush…
This would all be forgivable as oversight and honest mistakes if they were not the worst people at handling crisis. We repeatedly tried to call different managers who all told us that they «did not have the authority to do anything about this» or were conveniently all unavailable all the time. The front desk people were no better. They would claim «this has never happened before» even though all the Unilocal reviews on this page clearly begs to differ. Also, they kept claiming that because they were «privately owned, we cannot offer you anything» excuses.
Ultimately, I don’t like it when hotel services claim that we as the customer should understand and let everything go when the response to our distress is lukewarm at best. The fact is, you still made mistakes and you should acknowledge that you have provided subpar services that did not match the amount that I paid for. The fact that you do not care whether or not you ruined my vacation experience means that you should not be in that line of business. If I had paid something along the lines of 30 $ a night I would not complain on Unilocal at all because I get what I paid for.
After my experience I would never recommend anyone stay at this hotel. Judging from the consistent sprinkling of one star reviews, this hotel has terrible service isn’t going to change anytime soon. The fact that people are actually spending time to do these one star reviews just shows how terrible this hotel is.

Stayed here during our 2 day trip to Disneyland and our hotel room was not cleaned at all. Sep. 30– Oct. 2 2015. The staff took no accountability on their mistake. Instead they blamed their mistake on us «the customer». They lied and said we told the maid not to clean our room. LIES! ALL LIES! It was irritating to say the least. I would have returned to this hotel if they would have just admitted their mistake and apologized. The staff being rude makes me want to NEVER return. Go somewhere else if you want to be treated nice.

The staff here were super pleasant, courteous, and overall great! We arrived to the hotel at about 5pm on a Saturday with no reservations and managed to get a room with two queen sized beds. We entered the room and they were impeccably clean. After leaving all of our belongings, we headed to the pool. The water was very clean and the pool area was alone so my kids and I enjoyed ourselves for a few hours. We went back to the room for the night and my kids watched tv. I proceeded to head into the shower and they had the best toiletries and everything was so clean and in its place. In the morning we received an amazing complimentary breakfast. We then headed for the pool and we had a blast. Overall, our experience was awesome and I look forward to staying here often as a weekend getaway with my kiddos.

I was so looking forward to my stay until I encounter their unfriendly employee, Daisy. No people skills whatsoever at the front desk. She was charging me more than what I had been previously quoted by another employee. Was very adamant about my cancelation through
and very unfriendly/​unprofessional. Post encounter, she gave me an unclean room then provided me and family with a clean room. Customer service is my «number one policy». Daisy has no people skills to be at a front desk, especially a hotel.

Just say no!
The staff is unfriendly and not helpful. We booked a room for 4 nights to accommodate 3 adults. We even called to verify for two beds 3 days prior to arrival! Upon arrival we found out that the hotel booked us a 1 king size bed with a pull out sleeper and there are no other rooms available in the hotel for our stay. When the desk was advised we called to verify our sleeping arrangements we were not helped but ask «Well, who did you speak to that told you that?». Needless to say, we are jammed into a small room and one of us is sleeping on a dirty lumpy sleeper sofa.
To top it off, we are here for a wedding. The pre-​arranged shuttle van to bring our party to the venue was supposed to be charged to the room for the guests attending the wedding. However, we were contacted 2 weeks prior to our arrival pay to $ 250 up front for the shuttle and the room rates would be adjusted accordingly. Guess what didn’t happen… Shockingly the room rates were not discounted!
Thank you to the hotel for being wonderful (sarcasm) and accommodating (more sarcasm) and a stand-​up business (even more sarcasm, peppered with anger).
Additionally, your choice of amethyst collection décor in the lobby is creepy. Please get your acts together.

WATCH OUT – BEDBUGS!
I have stayed here many times, but am sorry to report that I was eaten alive by bedbugs during my stay this week in room 211. My arms legs are completely covered with bites! The clerk denied knowing anything about bedbugs and did not want me to talk to the manager.
Stay at your own risk!

I had bed bugs in my room. The staff was rude to me when I said I had bed bugs. They said I lied. The made me pay for my room. I stayed in 205. I still itch two weeks later.
