Tito’s Build Your Own Burrito Bar

Found this place while looking for a good burrito through Unilocal.This place did not disappoint. The customer service here is awesome and was recommended the California Burrito. Easily one of the biggest burritos I’ve encountered. Filled with carne asada, sour cream, fries and guacamole (a little extra) it filled my appetite and then some. I look forward to getting one of their «build your own bowls» next time I go in (probably later this week)

Just came here after spending a day out with the kids and we had the greatest time! Great food and service! I was so happy because it was our first time! I love it when I’m treated like a customer! We will definitely be going back. Recommend this to anyone who is looking for great Mexican food and great flavors!

The food is decent. The horchata sucks, I’m mexican I want real horchata, not fountain drink syrup horchata that is over sweetened. We paid $ 30 for 2 burritos and 2 reg sized drinks. That is outrageous if you ask me. Not going there again.

Seen this place a few times, and my husband and I decided to try it. Great service, delicious food and really good salsa bar.
We got the chicken nachos and al pastor burrito and they were so good. We will be back very soon! And I am picky about my Mexican and especially my Nachos!

Love the burritos and tacos!!! The breakfast burritos are great as well. Will continue coming back!!!

Food is great and the quantity that they give you a lot!

My first visit to Titos and right from the start the customer service was great. The man who took our order took his time to address all of our questions in great detail. He shared specifics in ingredients and made suggestions.
The burrito we ordered was the Machaka which is shredded beef, eggs, tomato, onions and bell peppers. It was hot but delicious. The bell peppers were a tad too big for my liking but didn’t affect my opinion of the burrito.
In addition, they included side of rice and beans and even offered us chips and Pico de gallo. All of which were extras but didn’t charge us. Talk about great service for 1^st time customer!
Highly recommend. Sure it looks like a hole in the wall but you won’t be disappointed.

Finally found a place with great homemade chips and salsa!!! The carne asada fries are also good. Great portion! The torta was big, but way too much bread towards the end. Couldn’t tell if the cashier was Mexican or Chinese because he kept saying «aiyahhh.» Lol!

This place is the bomb! They make all their own salsa, fresh guacamole and their California burrito is the best in town. I highly recommend giving this place a try because it is a huge hit with everybody I know that has tried it. Oh yeah, the guys that work there are super friendly and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your experience.

I used to go to the old Albatross a lot but over the past 8 – 10 months, have not been able to go back due to my new work. But tonight, I had an opportunity to swing by but noticed Albatross was gone and Tito’s was up. I had a carne asada burrito made and it was just so so. I think some people will like it, but it was not something I would try again.

This place was great, the portions are huge! You can build your own burrito here. Yes, you can do that at Chipotle too, but at Tito’s it is actually fresh and made to order. I ordered the Al Pastor burrito, and daaaaamn it was good! My wife got the carne asada burrito bowl and also great. There was enough for us to take home for a 2^nd meal.
Also, the owner of the business was extremely nice and talked to us about our experience and his business plan. Will be back here a lot.

If you don’t like a lot of things in your burrito, then it probably won’t taste that good because it will be mostly tortilla. Their burrito tortillas are large so if you like to get everything in your burrito, like me, then the burrito is pretty good. I’ve also tried their carne Asada fries, which was alright, but I’ve definitely had better (and guac costs extra). They DO NOT have homemade horchata — it’s just the horchata from olé — so a bit of a disappointment there. Their tortas are alright, but if you want a good Torta, I would recommend driving over to Santa Ana (I like El Gallo Giro’s tortas!)
The one thing that does stand out is their vast selection of hot sauces. If you love hot sauces, then you have a lot to pick from, and if you don’t, you still have the freedom to try some if you’re curious! Just make sure to google the sauce first — some of them are really spicy…

Came on a Friday around noon and there was only ONE guy working…
My carne asada fries with guac was $ 9.13. I haven’t gotten carne asada fries in awhile but I thought they come with guacamole ($ 1.65 extra) Granted, it’s large in size but I’d rather have a smaller serving for cheaper.
The fries were standard, the guac was good, and the cheese and sour cream met expectations. The carne asada was the most disappointing thing about this place — I got a few bites of tendon/​gristle so it was really tough to chew.
Overall this place is fine; it’s actually one of the closer places to me that has carne asada fries so I guess it’ll do. (you can really sense my enthusiasm, no?)

I had a California burrito with Carnitas and it was bomb dot com! Burrito was big enough to share, but I devoured the whole thing on my own. The meat was seasoned perfectly and the guacamole was on point!
They have a huge selection of random hot sauces along the wall. Lots of super spicy habanero sauces too. If you’re into that sort of thing.
The staff was friendly and happily answered all my questions about the menu. Great spot for lunch.

Tito’s has a pretty cool concept going that kinda resembles the way you would order a sandwich at subway but burritos.
This was a first visit to Tito’s as this business is new to me and they are occupying the space that used to be Albertross not really sure what happened to them as every time I went there it was packed!
Tito’s is more or less average at most the California burrito I got was more tortilla than anything else and a bit short on asada. Wile it wasn’t amazing it definitely wasn’t bad.
It seems like they use a lot of l Lawry’s seasoning on their meat and their chips me personally I love the stuff but it’s a pretty generic taste that anyone can just put on their meat for seasoning and definitely not something that I would consider to be authentic Mexican seasoning.
The owner and employees were super nice and friendly but I don’t really like the whole online ordering process it’s just kinda a pain to do that. I’d rather step up to the counter and order from a person that way you can ask questions and whatnot.
However that ordering system is definitely a plus if you’ve been here before and if they are busy.(note: Your not required to order online it’s just an option if you don’t wanna step up to the counter)
They had a few variety’s of salsa the verde one was quite good and flavorful and just as good as the one that’s a bit orange as well, the chipotle one was just gross but that’s my opinion and I don’t like chipotle style anything really so ill leave that one up to you.
Overall the food wasn’t bad but not something I would seek out or go out of my way to come here.
We are going to come back here again at some point to order their carne asada fries as they looked super good and way better than the California burrito I received if that’s the case ill definitely reconsider my review and be willing to give them a higher rating.

I found out about Tito’s from the Rayberto’s website that indicated Raybertos has closed and is being replaced by a chain restaurant called Tito’s. Turns out Tito’s Build Your Own Burrito is a new business concept from the group that formerly owned Raybertos.
The dining area by the counter is slightly modified, but the salsa bar and furniture remain unchanged, and the most of the prices have been unaltered (except a slight price bump in the veggie burrito and horchata). You will find the same employees from the original Raybertos.
The most significant change from Raybertos is the addition of a «build your own burrito» bar which involves a familiar assembly line concept that is found at Subway and Chipotle. Customers now have the freedom to choose between several organic tortillas (not just flour-​based) and can pile on toppings from the burrito bar, including cheese, french fries, guacamole, beans, jalapenos, lettuce, etc. These custom-​made burritos cost $ 1 more than the classic Rayberto varieties.
After some thought, I went with the classic carne asada burrito instead because the burrito bar seemed to be a gimmick. It remains unclear what the extra $ 1 charge would get me. A larger burrito? Or extra fillings like corn, beans, and cheese? Unless I wanted a California burrito with french fries, I was not convinced that these additional fillings would be worth the extra dollar when the traditional San-​Diego style burritos already come stuffed with rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, and grilled meat.
It’s worth mentioning that the carne asada burrito I had today was superior to the one I ordered several months ago. The tortilla is grilled crispy on the edges and the carne asada now contains a boost in savoury flavors after I suggested more seasoning should be added. The meats are cooked fresh is small batches to order, no longer grilled in a heaping pile and stored in a heated tray. The burrito is not super-​sized, but the portion is just right for lunch, and the price of $ 5.95 is reasonable.
This eatery has improved significantly since its opening and I think it is good enough to satisfy cravings for San Diego Mexican food in the area. If the food consistency can be maintained, I will be a regular customer.
