History

Established in 2012.

After 15 years as a Veterinarian in private practice performing medicine, surgery and dentistry on pets, I kept getting requests to come to people’s homes after work to help transition their pets. I decided this was a calling for me– the animals are SO much more comfortable being in the place that is familiar to them, surrounded by people that they love– that in 2012 I started my business Loving Hands at deb​o​rahrot​man​.com, where it is our mission every day to address the needs of the pets and the clients. Dr. Rotman graduated from Wash State Univ College of Vet Med in 1996. She enjoys the one-​on-​one time that she spends with her clients and their pets and is honored to help pets and people.

Dr. Deborah Rotman recently helped us with our beloved Savvy. Savvy had stage 4 kidney failure & had started to hurt. Dr. Deborah was compassionate, clear & professional. We really appreciate her kindness & that we were able to say goodbye to out baby grrrrrl in our home. We were even able to arrange payment before she arrived so we could focus on our sweet grrrrl.
Dr. Deborah also recommend Peaceful Paws for Savvy’s cremation & they were wonderful.
We would recommend both.

I sent my pug, Oscar, to Heaven last Friday. Dr. Deborah was very patient and compassionate during the whole procedure, which was especially pleasant (as much as it can be) for me, as it was the first time I’ve gone through it. I couldn’t have asked for a smoother experience during this difficult time.

Dr Deborah is a gem! My heart was broken knowing that I had to make the decision to send my sweet Dakotah Blue on to Kitty Heaven. When she arrived at my home it was obvious I was very upset. Making the difficult decision to helping your pet pass on is never an easy one. We couldn’t possibly bring our sweet dog Eno to a vet for this process… for her or for us. Dr. Deborah is surely amazing at what she does. She explained the process so that we knew what to expect and did so in a caring and compassionate way. Unlike a previous review, I was appreciative to receive her business card. I would think it peculiar to not receive one as she is running a business after all. It’s only professional. I’ve already recommended Dr. Deborah to friends who may need her help in the future. I too, will call on her for her service again in the future.

2 stars is somewhat low, while 3 stars would indicate above average, so I think 2.5 stars is accurate. I think if we had to face this decision again, we would find another doctor. While she was able to accommodate us when our dog was in a lot of pain, and she was overall pleasant, we were disappointed in Dr Deborah’s bedside manner. She was not very tactful when asking for payment. She pressed for payment when I was very distraught and my partner was out of the room, rather than waiting for him to return, as he was clearly handling the logistics of the situation. She was also quick to hand us business cards, and later mail us more, which seemed an inappropriate marketing strategy. The man who handled cremation was also awkward, trying to small talk with us about where we from and his hometown during a very difficult moment for us.
I’m writing this because this is an important decision and you should be well informed. Dr. Deborah is an adequate vet, and could be suitable in an emergency situation, but I would recommend spending the extra money to have your regular vet come to your home, or get a recommendation from someone you know. Perhaps Dr. Deborah will take our comments into consideration and remember to be sensitive to the fact that every visit is a very difficult experience for each client.

Could not have asked for a better person to handle the difficult situation of putting down my 14 year old golden retriever, Mike. He was an amazing part of our family and Dr. Deborah handled everything with extreme kindness and more than helpful answering all my questions and helped make everything go so easy. I know Mike was comfortable and happy to be with his family and this was because of her.

Dr. Deborah is a true treasure. If you are facing the difficult task of helping your best buddy go on to the bridge, I know that Dr. Deborah will make it as easy and painless as it can possibly be. It is truly the most loving way to let your loved one go on ahead… and Dr. D is professional, compassionate, and help everyone feel comfortable thru the process. She explains things and gives you all the time you need too.

Dr. Deborah Rotman, DVM, came to our home to euthanize our cat, Shaggy. Shaggy was loved dearly and Dr. Rotman was very kind and gentle and answered all our questions. I would recommend Dr. Rotman to anyone wanting to have their pet, who is also family member, put to sleep in the kindest most gentle manner in familiar surroundings. It is such a stressful sorrowful time that having someone you trust who understands your feelings and pain, is so important. We had Shaggy cremated and Dr. Rotman took care of everything. I recommend her with my highest regards.

The decision to euthanize my 17 year old cat was extrememly difficult. Dr. Deborah Rotman’s reassurance that I was making the right decision was as valuable to me as her kind and gentle treatment of O.C. (Orange Cat). I was relieved that my cat was comfortable and in a familiar enviornment enabling him to be stress free and relaxed when he was put to sleep. I highly recommend Dr. Rotman whose intelligent, compassionate treatment made a difficult transition much easier.
