Mathnasium instructors use our unique assessment process to determine (with

great accuracy) exactly what each child knows and what they need to learn.

Next, we design a customized learning plan for teaching the concepts the student

needs to master. It doesn’t stop there — our encouraging instructors continually

check progress along the way to make sure kids truly understand and retain the

concepts we’ve taught. The results are transformative — kids will see measurable

changes in attitude, confidence, and school progress.

History

Established in 2011.

Mathnasium of Lake Oswego was our first Mathnasium Learning Center, which was opened in 2011. In 2013 we opened Mathnasium of West Linn, and in early 2014 we acquired the existing Mathnasium of Raleigh Hills from the previous owner. In the subsequent year enrollment tripled!

Mathnasium of Lake Oswego is recognized as one of the top performing Mathnasium Learning Centers in the country — in an organization that produces excellent results across North America, our three centers are among the best of the best.

Bruce W.

Business Owner

By owning a Mathnasium franchise, Bruce has come full circle back to the joy of mathematics and problem solving that lead him to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Lewis & Clark College.

In addition to studying Math while in college, Bruce played Varsity Football, earned extra money as a Math Tutor and was involved with student politics. After graduation he studied Actuarial Science at Georgia State University and began a career in the Pension and Retirement Plans Industry, working with consulting firms and insurance companies in that capacity.

Outside of Mathnasium, Bruce has 3 school aged children, which keeps things very busy with school, music, and athletic events. Bruce is also very busy as a professional musician, currently playing with Ural Thomas & The Pain, Jujuba, and the Waydowns, his recording and performance credits include the Decemberists, The Violent Femmes, Bobby Patterson, Point Juncture Washington among many others.
