I can’t think of a better way to spend my mornings. Excellent instructors, engaged staff and owners, perfect ambiance, great experience. Bar none, the best cardio workout ever!

I’ve noticed most (if not all) of the negative reviews on here come from people who’ve only tried it once. This type of workout is something that takes a while to get comfortable with because it is different and requires some practice. For me that’s one of the things that I love about it, it challenges me in more ways than physical. The coordinated movements are good for my brain as well. That being said, I have nothing but positive things to say about the instructors, the owners, the staff and the actual workout. I’ve done everything, including long and short distance running on a competitive level and this is one of the most difficult and inspiring things I’ve ever done. Each and every one of the instructors truly believes in it and they put their heart into it. The owners really care that people get the most out of their studio and encourage a «star family» atmosphere. They are friendly, conscientious, inspiring and major butt kickers. I love this place and feel it’s worth every penny. I’ll be a lifelong member!

My first spin class… Did it with my wife… It was just freaking out on a stationary bike for 45 min… Dark room, weird vibe… Staff was friendly… But I will never do a spin class again

This is such a great full body work out! The classes are fun, and focus not only on legs, but core and arms as well. Aside from the actual workout being great, the online website is not intuitive at all, and seems outdated. Unlike other spin studios, star cycle does not release their schedule at a certain time, instead allowing classes to be booked as far out in advance as possible. This leads to classes being booked over a month out, with people just booking reoccurring rides, then cancelling at a later date if it doesn’t work for them. In turn this leads to being «wait listed» for others– which means you can’t count on being in the class. This is frustrating for people that work and need to have a set schedule.
Multiple times my class (6 AM) started late– even if it’s just a few minutes– there is a reason I was at the 6 am class/​because I need to be at work at a certain time. Very frustrating.
You cannot reserve a specific bike online, which means you must arrive much earlier than the class actually starts in order to get a preferred bike.
Good class, but the management of it needs to improve before I’ll return. I have switched to a different studio, despite StarCycle actually bring closer to my house.

I usually go to another studio in town with a similar format, but am always open to trying new things, so I bought a 3 pack for Starcycle. The studio was nice and clean and the instructors and front desk people were always very nice. I don’t have kids, but there is childcare for people that do. I just didn’t feel the classes were that challenging to me. I routinely do 25 – 40 mile road rides, so my indoor classes really need to push me. The classes here felt a bit disjointed, as the instructors that I had, didn’t really give us much of a countdown to changing the routine. I am used to classes where everyone is on the same beat, like a well-​oiled machine and really pushing each other to try harder. I didn’t feel that same togetherness and energy at this studio. I do like that Portland has choices when it comes to different studios. This one just wasn’t right for me.

I ended up taking another class at the Lake Oswego studio instead of the Vancouver/​Camas location, and the intensity of the class was on point! Great cardio, and energetic instructor.

StarCycle is by far the best cardio workout I have ever had. It’s fun, energetic and hard! I started taking classes religiously (3 – 4 times per week) about a month ago, and the transformation my body has gone through is unreal. I feel super strong and toned! The music and instructors are amazing! You’ll leave the class incredibly sweaty, but feeling like a badass. I am SO happy I found this studio.

So I never thought I would be the mom to get up for a 6am workout… but it’s been a little over a week and I’ve already completed 3 morning classes! Star cycle is truly the toughest workout I have ever been too! It tests me mentally and physically and yes I’m addicted! If you like sports and want to sweat like you just played 4 quarters of basketball in a full court press. …Star cycle is the place too go!!!

OMG will you burn some calories and SWEAT!!! Best workout I have ever done!!! Non stop moving and great arm and leg workout.
The workout studio thankfully is dark so no one sees you dripping sweat! Music is loud and upbeat and the instructors are welcoming and knowledgeable. I was in awe of Salina teaching our class, she is amazing!
You can rent shoes (like bowling) but bring a spare change of clothes if you plan on doing something after, every pore sweats and you will want some dry clothes!

The most effective cardio workout I’ve ever done. The classes will test you, but the instructors and the music keep it fun and engaging. My favorite workout ever!

Thought this studio was all right. Coming from LA I have high expectations of a cycling studio. While this one isn’t comparable in my opinion it’s better than a few other ones I’ve tried in the area.
Pros: instructor had good energy, liked the arm work out, glad they had cycling shoes to rent.
Cons: they do a lot of weird push up things on the bike. Thought this was very odd as every other cycling instructor I’ve had talks about how important it is to keep the weight in your legs and not hunch over– can really hurt your back. Instructions were hard to follow, didn’t get a real sense of community (best part of most cycling studios), emphasis was more on strength training than building endurance it seemed.
Good warm up for the day but unfortunately I shill have to go to the gym and do cardio after paying 18 bucks.

Holy Smoked! My Wife has been raving about this place for months now, and convinced me that I needed to give it a try. I had done other spin classes in the past at 24 hour fitness and thought that this would be about the same. I was completely wrong!
We showed up about 15 minutes early got our shoes and met the owner Erin Moone. Erin helped me get the bike the correct height and the handlebars all situated. She is a tiny little Ms. Super Fit, Superhuman, Spin Master Jedi. I couldn’t believe how fast this tiny woman could spin her bike for the entire 45 minute class. Within 90 seconds of the class starting I was sweating through my shirt. The music selection and variety of movements during the class was fantastic! It was an incredible workout and at the end of class my workstation was completely covered in a puddle of sweat.
Living in Camas, it’s not easily accessible to make on a regular basis. I am looking forward to my next beating, whenever that may be. Thanks again Erin and StarCycle, hope to see you soon!

Coming from LA my expectations for a spin class are high. Plus — I love spin. This is hands down the best I’ve been to. Great music, great lighting, just all around awesome. The added arm movements was something I had not experienced before. Sadly I can’t afford $ 200 a month just for spin — but ohhh how I day dream of a membership.

Of the multiple exercise programs I’ve tried over the years, I finally found one that is ideal for me… Starcycle is fun, fast, and the best cardio workout I’ve ever done.

Just try one class. It’s my challenge to anyone who thinks they are in shape. It’s my challenge to anyone who wants to be ultimately healthy. I was skeptical of all the hype over new and improved ways of exercise. This is much more than improved exercise! It’s pure genius and the results I’ve seen in my body, energy and overall health is the proof in just 30 days of becoming a starcycler! I’m toned and trim and healthy; it’s helping me reach the best shape I’ve been in since I was 18. It’s about team. It’s about drive. It’s about finding yourself through movement, endurance and stamina. It’s about being your brightest star. I walk out of every class on an exercise high. Each class is unique, challenging and rewarding. The true stars of this place are the trainers! Rider for life!

You know you are hooked when you want to be at starcycle everyday, I absolutely love the energy that this places gives, the staff are so friendly and accommodating. I love how you can get a great cardio workout but also work your upper body and your abs. I notice myself having so much energy throughout the day, not to mention having fun! The music is awesome, instructors and the environment. Everyone needs to try this place because it will change how you look at working out, not to mention you will be in the best shape of your life!!! Portland has needed a place like this and it will only grow!

Starcycle was an excellent idea. I liked going to the gym, but I needed a longer cardio workout. Once I started taking classes at Starcycle, going on long bicycle rides and runs are so much easier, I push myself more than ever, because I know what a good workout can feel like. I recommend this place if you need a boost of energy and motivation. The instructors are the best!
ADVICE: Go early so that you can adjust the bike to your height and bring a bottle of water, this is very important.

I’ve been going to Starcycle for a few months and I’m hooked. After my first class in June, I canceled my gym membership and have been taking classes 2 – 4 times a week. The instructors are dedicated to making you really sweat and push yourself in each class. The class size has just the right amount of people so you aren’t overwhelmed and you don’t feel like everyone is staring at you. It’s the perfect amount of workout time. I sign up online and the super nice girl at the front desk always has my shoes ready for me.
It’s the perfect workout and the crew is awesome!

I just took my second class at Star Cycle today … what a workout! Great studio, awesome music and skilled instructors. It was a 45 minute workout well spent. And there’s child care, too!
