Fantastic place for families in a soggy climate. This has a great play areas it’s actually covered. It has lots of entertaining and different than what you normally see activities for kids. There’s a little drum set in some things that you can stand on and swing yourself in circles to spin. There’s climbing stuff and a tire swing. Also you’ll find the traditional things like a toddler climb area with a steering wheel in short slide. There’s also the tall twisty slide that pretty much come standard at the park. next-door in the park is a soccer field and tennis courts. There are basketball courts as well. This place has a little bit of everything for everyone. But the kids area is exceptional because it is so well appointed and like I said it’s covered. During the summer they have a lot of family activities here like movies and concerts. If you have little ones in your household, I would check this place out next time they need to write it out and it’s a little wet out. After all this is Portland.

This is it! I finally found it! I have spent the last two years asking myself why there aren’t any covered playgrounds in Portland, and where I am supposed to take my energetic little kid to play on rainy days. West Lake Park is the answer. The playground is covered, with equipment for both toddlers and big kids. There is a bathroom about thirty feet from the play structure, hallelujah! The picnic area is also amazing. There are 4 covered tables with a buffet counter lining a wall, and along this counter there are 3 outlets, meaning you can set up your crock pot, and plug it in. There is additional table or two near the covered 4, if you’re looking to get a large group together and it isn’t raining. There is also a huge, well kept, athletic field joined with the play ground, that is open for running on. There are water fountains too. This is the best laid out park I’ve ever been to. If you’re looking to host a party, this is where you should do it!

Very much a suburban neighborhood park, its three corners are occupied by well-appointed baseball diamonds. There’s plenty of grassy space for soccer and dog play. Tennis courts, a basketball court and playground round it out. Interesting feature: a four-story concrete tower used for training by firefighters from the adjoining station.
