Olympic Ski Jumping Complex

A must do if in lake placid, watching the jumpers practice and heading to the top was awesome. Much bigger once you are close! Also took many great family pics! A must do, especially if you get the Olympic sites passport. My husband is afraid of heights but was okay with this activity.

This place awesome. I went when there was no snow on the ground and there was still ski jumping. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. I would definitely recommend it.

Really fun and interesting! This place was right up my alley, as a skier and Winter Olympics fan. We came in the afternoon right as a demonstration was starting and a kid showed us his ski jumping skills (in July, they can still use the course!). Don’t worry about climbing — you ride the chair lift up the hill and take an elevator to the top of one of the towers. We loved seeing the amazing 360 degree view of the surrounding mountains from the top of the jump. I liked how the lounge had posters identifying each mountain peak in the distance so that you know what you’re looking at and what elevation it is.
Make sure you learn about the history of the jump, from both the 1932 and 1980 games. Even if you weren’t around at that time, you’ll enjoy visiting here. If you do remember, perhaps you’ll appreciate it even more (and how far team USA has come since then)!

Wow this is bigger than I ever imagined. You see it from the road as it towers over but what’s interesting is how well placed the trees are in the upper parking lot cause you park there and don’t see anything!
Then you walk down to the base and there it is in all it’s glory! The center inside is rather forgettable, some tables to sit and and watch while people jump. There is a lift to pay and go up to top. I bet it would have been better if we went up but we opted out of it.
And then you see someone jump and wow! It is amazing watching this. Once you see that, your journey is complete and and you gotta walk back up the hill to the parking lot. They said there was some event so you couldn’t park at the bottom, but I think it’s always like that. Drive around and give it a try, otherwise you gotta walk up the hill!

So cool to actually see this in person. You can see it from miles away and once you go and see it up close it is amazing. Those Olympians really are ballsy to make these jumps because I would have a heart attack! Very fairly priced as well

We went on a 6 degree afternoon with –20 wind chill factor, and it was worth it! It gives us an idea of how daring the ski jumpers must be to go down that steep huge slide and fly into the air. Also a great view. The staff were very friendly.

Really cool! A must do in Lake Placid. The chair lift to the top of the Jumping Complex looks a little old/​rickety but is totally safe and quick. The views of the jumps from the top are really up close and personal. The view of Lake Placid from up there is amazing too — you can see for miles!
Totally worth the price and is good for all ages. Highly recommend!

Another great tourist spot in Lake Placid. What I didn’t like is even if you went in just to see the complex and take pictures it was like $ 10 each. The charge to get in is to take the incline to the top, so if you don’t want to do that you still have to pay full price just to go and look.
There were a lot of activities going on at this venue and you need to stop here but I liked the Bob Sled course better.

We went up to the top of the ski jump, the view is magnificent. Even the elevator ride up is beautiful. Before you get on the elevator, be sure to check out the Olympic podium.

The Ski Jump is magnificent. You just have to be there to see it in person.

Beautiful grounds. Always seems to have a lot of energy buzzing around it!

During the winter time you can go tubing here as well as tour the jumping complex. I have been here several times, but this time I noticed that there are no long lines as there are in the summer to visit the jumps.
The snack bar is also rearranged where you can now buy gifts and get a cup of coffee.
There was a small fire and some chairs outside for spectators to sit around.
Snow tubing is new here as well. For 10 dollars you can ride for a session. The hill is pretty big. However you have to walk back up the hill to tube back down it. Most of the people snow tubing used their cars to drive up and down the hill with. I don’t know about you kids, but I would rather go to a place where I can ride a magic carpet to the top of the hill.

Beautiful complex. Snow tubing is a thrill here.
