K-9 Partnership specializes in Force-Free training methods that don’t involve hitting, yelling, leash pops, hanging, ear pinches, lip pinches, kicking, alpha-dominance techniques, shocking, deprivation, choking, threatening, etc. YES it’s possible to have a strong trusting bond using motivational/reward based training methods while setting boundaries and rules.
History
Established in 2002.
Daphne transitioned into dog training from being a horse trainer/instructor. She’s a ‘crossover’ trainer meaning that she’s used choke chains, prong collars and shock collars in the past but not longer needs those punitive tools since she’s chosen to use training methods based in learning theory creating a win-win situation for both owner and dog rather then a win-loose set up. She now trains using motivational/reinforcement based training including clicker training.

Daphne she attended the ‘Harvard School’ for dog trainers — the SF/SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers in 2002 and went on to attend their 260hr internship focusing on dog aggression. She then started her dog business which was operational form 2002 – 2014
Soon after, she obtained her title as Certified Professional Dog Trainer by passing a test thru the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. This is an international credential. She then went on to be certified on her skills obtaining a Clicker Competency Assessment Program — Level 2 with honors.
Daphne formed a networking and continuing education group with like minded animal professionals called South Bay Trainers which was formed in 2003 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She became one of Victoria Stilwell’s VSPDT trainers for a year and belongs to several dog and animal behavior associations.
She currently works full-time in real estate with Keller Williams Western Realty — Everett.
