Top Notch Towing

Last winter a friend of mine had a small scooter stolen and reported it to the police. About a month later a pickup truck with my friends scooter in the back was involved in an accident. Top notch towed the whole mess to their yard and sent my friend a notice that the scooter was in their yard accruing storage fees. He was out of the country on business (new zeeland) and couldn’t get back right away to take care of it and top notch wouldn’t let anyone else take care of it. When he got home several weeks later he went to the yard to retrieve what was left of the scooter (it had been stripped of parts), which was still sitting in the back of the pickup truck and was given a bill of 2300.00. He had to pay the bill before he could get his drivers license. What was left of the scooter was later sold for 50.00. I think he was robbed by top notch, they obviously took advantage of the law which allowed them to charge an unlimited amount of money for something out of his control. About as crooked as a company can get.

This is less of a towing performance review and more of a review of their drivers. My family and I were leaving our neighborhood in Monroe. We entered a traffic circle (giving us the right of way) and this giant truck from Top Notch Towing, designed for towing large commercial vehicles, failed to yield at a 30 to 35 mph. My wife was being attentive and slammed on the brakes and this guy just barreled through with no acknowledgement, or intent to slow. If my wife didn’t stop, the size of the truck and the speed would have ended in disaster for myself and my 2.5 year old on the passengers side. I would imagine he wouldn’t drive much differently with whatever he’s towing and he obviously doesn’t know the rules of the road, so yeah avoid these guys if you can. Thanks!

Beware! I tried to pull in their driveway in order to arrange a tow for a vehicle at a business a block away.
At the instant I turned in, their driver (later identified by a Snohomish Deputy as the owner) shot forward in his truck (while looking down at his cell phone).
To avoid a collision, I had to drive w/​one tire across the grass adjacent to the gravel driveway. No landscaping was ruined.
The guy jumped out of his truck and began loudly cursing at me and approaching in a threatening manner.
I put both hands up and backed out onto the roadway to depart.
The guy actually chased me onto the 2 lane road and tried to attack me.
Trapped in my truck w/​the window open and unable to accelerate away as I was backing in traffic, I drew a weapon as he reached the window and he retreated. Freak!
I called for a deputy. The deputy actually chuckled and told me that the guy (who has a county contract and is familiar to the deputies) is known as a «hothead.».
I’ll say.

Loved the guy, Bill. He was able to help me out quickly, and was a pleasant person to do business with, upbeat, kind. I would definitely call him again!

My car broke down today by the Kmart in Marysville, it runs for a little bit and then dies. Fuel filter probably. Anywho, I needed to get my car to Snohomish off Machias Rd to our buddy who can fix it. Getting a tow was my last option so I limped my car on the back roads through Marysville all the way to Cedarcrest Golf Course, that took two hours (should have taken 5 minutes). I finally worked up enough courage to get to Lake Stevens (there are some huge hills back in that area so it was intimidating in a stick shift that wanted to die every few blocks). An hour and a half later I finally made it to Lake Stevens (should have taken 10 minutes), right at the round-​a-​bout by Lake Dr & Lundeen Prkwy. There was heavy traffic and I didn’t feel comfortable being on the road with that many cars or with going up anymore hills so I broke down sobbing and called a tow truck. I was an emotional wreck, I’m a stay at home mom of two little girls, I can just barely drive a stick shift and I know nothing about cars and I felt so defeated. I just wanted to get home to my girls. I called and Bill answered my call, and my prayers. It’s Christmas time and after buying gifts for my kids things are a bit tighter than usual so after hearing my story he gave me a great deal, got to me in about 10 minutes and saved the day. He calmed me down in a matter of minutes and instantly made the situation better. Such a nice and caring man, truly there to help and rescue people in need. I was very disappointed in this company. They got called after we were involved in a accident. They towed the car to our shop and if I’m reading the new laws right, we were very over charged and I will be contacting a lawyer on this. Plus the driver did further damage to the vehicle that wasn’t damaged at the accident and the police saw and agreed with us on that. Driver said what did you expect. He acted like this was a repo he had to fly thru when it was a accident. Could of taken more time.
