Highly recommended — very professional. I’ve used these guys twice now and am very happy. Once to install a backup sump pump and also to replace the primary sump pump. Prices are more than reasonable and there was no attempt to upsell me. It was $ 440 to replace the sump pump that had cost me over $ 800 from ABC Plumbing.
My only small issue is that they have a rather complex and impersonal phone answering system that requires you to navigate about 3 – 4 options before leaving a message.

Unlike the 4 hour window of most plumbers, they were able to give me a 1-​hour window.
Roger came right on time at the start of the window, checked the old sump pump to see if it could be replaced – it couldn’t, and installed a new one for me for slightly less than quoted over the phone.
Overall very satisfied.

We live in Glencoe, and moved into our home this past April. There were no disclosures that the home had ever flooded before, and the owner swore it had not. The existing sump pump and backup unit looked questionable — but July 23^rd it became clear that this house HAD flooded before and the existing sump pump was virtually useless — it was spitting water, sludge, rocks, and pieces of tile into our basement. We ended up with 6 – 8 inches of water, over $ 12,000 of damage, and had to replace the water heater, furnace, sump pump and backup system! We were sick.
We called several other «dry basement» companies — one whose number was on the old sump pump. The man seemed friendly enough when I explained that we wanted a water remediation solution for our basement. We needed someone to take a complete look at the basement to see if the pipes were ok, if the foundation was leaking, if the sump pump pit was adequate (why was it spitting sludge and rocks into our home and filling with mud?), etc. I did not want someone to sell me a new sump pump. He assured me that he understood. The next morning, another man from the same company came to the house. He looked at the sump pump, told me I needed a new sump pump, said the pit was fine, and gave me a quote for $ 1,800. I told him that was not what he was supposed to do — he was supposed to give me an estimate for a dry basement solution. He started arguing with me, and then tried to charge me $ 150 for coming to give the estimate. I was so angry I called his boss, reminded him of our conversation the day before. It was THE WORST experience I’ve ever had.
I got the same attitude and lack of service and understanding from 3 other companies.
Then I called Basement Flood Protector. I spoke with John Burns and explained that we wanted a total dry basement solution. He came to the house the next day and was very educated about the area, the water issues, foundation issues that can occur, drainage options, and lastly — sump pump pit and pump details. He detailed out our options for us. We came up with a total basement solution that my husband and I both felt comfortable with — and felt would prevent future flooding problems. We ended up having the pit dug deeper and replaced with a newer pit, a second overflow pit dug and a new pit put in, expanded diameter pipes, a more powerful pump and a better backup system. They also sealed the foundation cracks, put in a bubbler pot and ran the output pipes underground into the bubbler pot. The pits, the pot, the pumps, everything was installed beautifully and with care.
I cannot say enough good things about this company. The have a solution that will solve your flooding problems. John has an undying commitment to customer service — my husband spent hours and hours asking him questions and demanding perfection. And Basement Flood Protector delivered. The installers were very professional, too, and really did do a beautiful job — the pits are actually aesthetically pleasing to look at. There are no ugly pipes or things sticking out.
Ditto to all the other reviews. Don’t even bother using another company — this one is THE BEST.

Minutes before walking out the door for a one-​week vacation, we discovered that our sump pump had tripped the breaker and had failed. UGH! We had heard Jeff from his radio spots, so we gave them a call.

They were at the house within 2 hours and replaced our sump pump in 30 minutes. The tech was fantastic, courteous and did an amazing job.
Our new sump pump was in incredible. So solid, quiet and powerful. Compared to our previous sump pump, it’s like we upgraded from a clunker to a Royals Royce. I will never call another sump pump company ever! Thank you, Jeff!

While purchasing our home, our inspector recommended Basement Flood Protector. We knew the backup pump in the new house was dead and thought the primary pump was as well. We had another company come out to provide a quote. But after talking with Basement Flood Protector on the phone and learning about their backup pumps, we decided to go with BFP. I’m glad we did. Roger came out to do an install of a new primary pump and backup pump. Immediately, he said that the primary pump was fine and it was just a valve in the pipe that was broken. Saved us $ 400! The other company that came onsite did not mention anything about the valve and just stated that the sump pump was malfunctioning. Would high recommend BFP.

Anyone in the Fox River Valley — this is the call you should make TODAY! One of the first calls we made after moving into our new home 7+ years ago here and building out a high-​end home theater was to PROTECT that investment! I had too many friends who’d had their basement flood and ruining everything. I had BFP come out and seal a crack and install a battery back-​up system. The installer was professional, courteous and informative. He told me exactly how to use the new system. I have had them out only one other time simply to make sure everything was working properly since I never have had a single issue in many many storms and power outages. Our original system is still working like a champ! We only swapped out the old marine battery for a maintenance-​free one. I NEVER worry about flooding when others are shaking in their boots!

Son told me their employee showed up two hours late. I wasnt there but the work appeared ok, i guess. Make sure you remind them to take their shoes off.

We live in Des Plaines. Everyone in the flood plain in Des Plaines and Park Ridge should check out this company. This is the company that you need to contact to take care of basement flooding issues. They will give you the best advice for your property. They will do overhead plumbing and stop basement seepage. Look at their reviews, they are the best at what they do and they are guaranteed.
