Tsasdi Resort

Stayed this weekend with my boyfriend for my birthday and couldn’t have asked for better location or set-​up. Cabin is just enough to feel comfy and equipped with its what you need, but rustic enough to get an outdoor lake experience. We were a little worried about not having enough to do without a boat, but no problem at all because Tsadi has paddle boards, kayaks, and a canoe at no charge. The dock also has plenty of space to just set up shop for the day and lounge. Owners were really helpful and friendly and have great suggestions of restaurants and hikes nearby. We’ve been on A LOT of Northern California weekend getaways, and we both agreed this was a favorite. We will be back!

My family and I visited Tsasdi’s resort over the Memorial Day weekend and absolutely loved it! Scott and Julie provide the us with best hospitality. The cabins are really clean with great views of the lake. There’s lot of things for our kids/​family to do, bike ride, fish, kayak, play basketball, volleyball and campfires at night and much more! We especially liked the boat dock mooring for our boat for easy access to the Shasta lake. We’ve already reserved a cabin for next year. This will defiantly be an annually summer destination for our family.

Was so excited to see this place after all the slightly sketchy places we passed along the way !!! This is a awesome oasis! We booked the honeymoon suite because it’s all that was left and I actually am so blessed we did. What a treat. I actually hate to tell anyone about it because I’d like to keep it too ourselves. But the new owners are so friendly and truely act like they just love owning this place and it shows. The deck and views are amazing. The personal hamack on our deck and two person Clawfoot again AMAZING!!! Can’t say enough good things! looking forward to a wonderful 3 days!

Julie invited us to Tsasdi Resort for her Tree Trimming Event. We had such a great time! She has totally changed all the cabins, we stayed in #18 felt like we were at home. With her little extra touches she has made the cabins absolutely beautiful! The party was great, the decorations BEAUTIFUL, the food awesome and we met some pretty unique people. We will be back again, again and again!

Love, love, love this place! I’m originally from the Midwest, now living in the Bay Area and have been trying to find the perfect escape. I’ve tried Tahoe, but the drive is intense and the prices are crazy. I long for a slower pace filled by nature, yet also offering the subtle refinements of life. How lucky am I to have found Tsasdi Resort with such a convenient and safe drive from the Bay Area. Life quickly downshifts to a slower speed as you kayak, fish, read a book and go for a walk. In the evenings, I enjoyed a glass of wine out on the luxurious front deck while my eight-​year old son made a new friend and played pool upstairs. The new owners, Scott and Julie, go above and beyond to ensure everyone is happy and feels welcome! Wish this were a time share and I could buy into part of this paradise.

Was up at the Tsasdi Resort for a retreat with some girlfriends this past weekend. We had never been to the resort before. Wow! What an incredible place and perfect way to spend 4 days with these amazing women. We stayed in cabin #6 which was totally adorable. It had two queen beds, gas fireplace, little kitchen with fridge, sink, stove, coffee pot etc. everything you would need to cook with. There is a lovely deck off the back with table and chairs, that looks onto the lake. The vibe of the surroundings is just so relaxing and calming. Great places to hike or just go on long walks. The new owners, Julie and Scott along with their staff are so sweet and welcoming. If you are looking to explore Shasta, you will not be disappointed!

I’ve just returned from 4 glorious days at Tsasdi resort. It was heavenly. I was assisting a women’s wellness retreat that took place Thursday through Sunday. I had never been to this area, and fell in love with Tsasdi. I stayed in cabin #1, we used the cellar (another unit) and the large hall (sorry, forgot the name).
First to note is that there are new owners, Julie and Scott. I think that they’ve owned Tsasdi since approximately January 2015. Julie and Scott are lovely people, it was a complete pleasure staying and working with them. They were so attentive, thoughtful, available to help, and considerate of our needs. I was teaching yoga 2x a day, we alternated between the outdoor deck and the large indoor gathering space. Scott and Julie would anticipated what was needed, and take care of things ahead of time, before I ever needed to ask. They kept cozy fires, they’d rearrange furniture to make space, and Julie would add the little details, such as candles, blankets, and things like that that brought a beauty and warmth to the spaces.
They have been remodeling and redecorating, I wish they’d come and do my house. I’m so impressed with how tasteful, very much like sunset magazine, a style that makes you want to sit, down, linger, and enjoy.
I practiced yoga by myself in my cabin, so my mat and I were on the floor in my cabin. It was immaculate. I’ve never felt so comfortable being on a floor in a rental cabin before. The linens are nice, the bed and pillows were so comfortable. I was really impressed. Each cabin has a kitchen, there are a wide range of cabin sizes, and all have covered porches, so you can sit out in the shade, or in the rain, and enjoy nature and views of the lake.
I can’t wait to come back and bring my family. This place is a hidden gem! If you’re considering visiting, don’t hesitate, you won’t be sorry.

After 15 years of other vacations we returned to Tsasdi. We forgot just how special this place is. The new owners went above and beyond to make our stay special. We’ll be back next year.

Super last minute at 7:30 on Sunday night of a holiday weekend I got the opportunity to get out of town for the night so I called around and this place had 1 cabin available. I asked the price and it was a little steep for what I was looking for they offered to work with me on the price since it was already late and I was only staying 1 night. I confirmed I wanted it and after a 3hr drive they were up waiting for us at 11pm! Super friendly and hospitable. Great homey cabin feel rooms. Loved it super rustic. In the morning when I turned in our room key they pointed out a hike we could go on and they have kayaks for free for people that stay at their resort. The surroundings and atmosphere is just beautiful, homey and welcoming. I will be back for sure!
Oh and they are very pet friendly!

What a fantastic place, the new owners are great. Scott & Julie from the time we checked in makes you feel like your at home. Some really nice female touches by Julie in cabins and some hard work by Scott makes the place. Super clean kitchens are well stocked for cooking. The lake may be down 100′ but you still have 230 miles of shore line. It’s sad to think people think there’s no water but let me assure you there is a lot. Why rent a houseboat when you can enjoy this great place. We are booking 4 cabins for next year. PS very quite.

I can’t believe I took this long to write a review. This is the place to be if you are staying at shastha. Best customer service ever. Felt at home. Owners are very friendly and took care of us. They upgraded us to a bigger room for no cost. Made us freshly ground coffee and entertained my little one with their dog and bird. Cabins are very well maintained. They have a dock that makes the lake reachable. Good views. Highly recommend it and I will always stay here.

Spent a weekend (2 nights) here (a group of 5).
The Cabin was very cosy (in a positive sense), clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfy.
The linen and cabin are clean.
The cabin has a nice balcony to kickback on and just watch the lake.
The cabin also has a nice gas fireplace.
The only negative thing about the cabins are the locations of the grills. They are located on the opposite side to each cabin’s balcony — wish it had been on the balcony.
The resorts has some bicycles and canoes for use — free of charge. Since we were there on a quiet weekend we got as much use of these as we wanted.
The resort has a nice deck area (with a good gas grill) and game room with a lots of board games, a few arcade machines and a pool table for winding down after strenuous day outdoors.
They also have a volleyball court and horseshoe throwing area (and the required equipment for both).
The management /​owners are very helpful and friendly and it really enhances the experience.
Cellular coverage is pretty bad here — again a positive — i.e., Unilocal won’t be around to help look for places to visit /​eat /​shop: D

My wife and I wanted to take a short vacation while the kids were on Easter break. After deciding that we would like to tour the Caverns at Lake Shasta, we took a chance on Tsasdi Resort (Pronounced ZAWS-​DEE) and boy are we glad we did!
Immediately, we felt at home as the owner’s Scott and Julie welcomed us with the greatest hospitality one could ask for! Our children felt right at home, and the cabin, to our amazement, was remarkably well-​kept and perfect for our family.
Scott and Julie went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant for all of us. Scott took my boys fishing on the docks, for rides on the golf cart and quad runner, and let us borrow the kayaks for one of the greatest family memories we’ve ever enjoyed.
As owners, this wonderful couple are truly performing their dream job — making memories for families. You can feel their love and sense of enjoyment in what they do! We loved it so much, that we not only stayed an EXTRA day, but we decided to have an annual family gathering here as well!

Just got home from a great vacation visiting Shasta Lake in California with my boyfriend. The cabins are all very new and so clean, perfect front row view of the lake, and are pleasantly cozy comparable to staying in your own home! The owners and workers are all so friendly and want to make sure that you have anything and everything you need during your stay, we were very impressed. They have an underground pool for summertime use with chairs to lay out and tan or just relax after swimming. A nice big brand new barbecue for anyone’s use that is in the pool area. Also a bbq for every cabin to use privately. In the cabin is beautiful but step outside the backdoor of your cabin and there is a covered deck which was one of my favorite spots I enjoyed the whole time I was there. The beautiful view of the lake and mountains (sunrise/​sunset) with freshly picked big beautiful flowers on a table where u can wake up and enjoy the morning or eat all of your meals instead of being inside. All together I just felt I should write a review because I want as many people possible to choose staying here when visiting Shasta lake like we did and get the chance to experience this beautiful resort and have an awesome time.

I came here from the Bay Area on Presidents’ Day weekend with my fiancé. What a treat! The new owners are so sweet they made us feel right at home. The scenery is great and I can’t wait to come back, this is a great all year place. I hear there’s skiing 30 minutes away so I’m hoping I can check it out next winter.
The cottages are small, clean and cozy, with an electric fire place, a deck that views the lake and a small kitchen. It was just what we needed for a romantic weekend away from the city.
The first day we made breakfast at the cabin and ate out in the deck with the amazing views. In the afternoon we went to Mount Shasta caverns, it was breath taking.
Our second day we enjoyed the outdoors and went off-​roading, running and kayaking.
We didn’t get around to go on the hikes and see all the waterfalls there are around here, but it’s another reason to come back.

If you are considering staying here, a few things you should know that had I known, would have changed my reservations to somewhere else:
1. The dock that is so beautifully advertised on website is not there any longer, instead you drive up the hill to Antlers and have your boat slip. The owner comes and finds you at your cabin or elsewhere each day to see if you want to take your boat out of the water because it will «save him $ 20»
2. The cabins are TINY. We rented cabin 6, I knew it was a 1 bedroom cabin but I asked the guy on phone before booking specifically about the amount of people that can stay in it. This cabin was maybe 300 square feet. Not large enough to stay with your husband, 17 and 10 year old. PLus a dog. UGH
3. The shower was a pole sticking out of wall. No shower head. No water pressure.
4. The bathroom for the cabin is located inside the master bedroom… can you say awkward?
5. Owner is a lurker. He pops up all the time, and usually to remind you of the strict check out policy. He really wants you out on time, I cannot emphasize this enough.
6. Motel 6 offers free ice for it’s patrons, but here you will pay $ 2.75 per bag.
7. Lots of Bees/​Yellow Jackets
Basically, for the price I paid $ 220/​night, I feel like we were totally ripped off. It should be disclosed there is not a boat slip on the property and the price should be adjusted accordingly. To get to water from cabin is an extremely steep hike. It may have been a different experience had the lake had more water, the boat dock been there or cabin had been a little larger, but I am giving it a 2 star.

The resort owner is incredibly aggressive and rude. We arrived after a very long drive from Oregon and were greeted with an insulting and condescending lecture about check-​in times. It took us a good ten minutes of getting yelled at to deduce that he wanted us to leave, and then he refused to let some of the younger people in our party to even use a restroom. We were there an hour before check-​in, which isn’t posted or clearly communicated. He was borderline obsequious with a party of older guests, so it appears to be an age thing. He was aggressively unpleasant to us for the duration of our stay, and in general seemed angry that people were coming to stay on his property. In sharp contrast, the folks from the nearby Antlers resort were unfailingly polite.

Very happy with this place! Found this place on Unilocal after needing somewhere to sleep on a road trip back to Oregon. We decided to stop and give the cabins a look. The owner, Dave, met us and gave us a wonderful tour. He was so nice, so helpful and so friendly! The cabins were adorable and the perfect size. We got a two queen bed cabin for two adults and 3 kids which was perfect. Great outdoor pool, good views, very well kept grounds and clean cabins! We definitely will return and very grateful for meeting Dave! What a treat!

Our Famil has been going to the Tsasdi Resort for the past 10 years each July and just love the place! Our Family looks forward to the week we are there each and ever year! The 5.5 hour drive from Morgan Hill is no big deal as this is such a great resort, beautiful lake to go boating on, super views and so much to do around the whole Lakeport area.
Dave the owner, is just a truly great guy and treats everyone with the same friendly smile and always welcomes everyone who is there. If you are looking for a great FAMILY /​FRIENDS place to come to year after year, look no further, this is a true gem.
WE LOVE IT!!!
