Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

Love their glazed but don’t really understand why their light is always on either. I asked and was told it’s because they have hot glazed all day. I then ordered a glazed and received one that wasn’t even warm. Wtf?

Oh man! I am so sick of Dunkin’ Donuts and never having any donuts. It was good to finally have a Krispy Kreme. Huge selection, hot glaze melt in your mouth. Definitely worth the trip!

I’m tired of this.
I cant tell you how excited I am to have a Krispy Kreme in Lakeland; because this business that occupies what used to be a BP is far from any Krispy Kreme I’ve ever been in, so I wouldnt exactly know what to tell you.
I’ve given this place more than enough opportunities than I should, more than I have given places that I’ve given worse reviews for; and I think at this point I’m finally putting my foot down and saying how awful it is.
First and foremost:
Traditionally (at Krispy Kreme’s NOT ran by cheapskates) the sign being on indicates that there is a new batch of original glazed donuts available. Fresh. Hot. Right off the rollers. At this «place» that sign is on all the time. This is playing on the tradition of other stores to get you in the door, to get the «Well, I guess we’re already here» donuts.
You know, the donuts you bought from dunkin donuts until you found out a Krispy Kreme was coming to Lakeland.
As often as I’ve come here (which has become few and far between) there was always an issue with getting original glazed. They’re either sold out, or ran out, or they’re just not available. So, what the hell is the point?
Secondly,
This place does not do the promotions that other Krispy Kremes do. There are not many in the central Florida area, but they run promotions. They do the buy one get one free on superhero day. They do the special limited time halloween marshmellow center ghostbusters donuts. They do damn near every other promotion that there is for this company. This one in Lakeland, that is not an hour plus out of my way, does not.
This is all at the fault of the «franchise owners» or «the management» or «whoever i dont care because sure, they have a krispy kreme in this dump, but it’s a sham.»
So there you have it. This Krispy Kreme donuts is a damn sham. A False Front. A rip off. A bait and switch. A croc of baloney. It’s bullshit.
I’ll never step foot in here again until it’s under new ownership or whatever dimwit in charge of how it’s ran is gone; and will continue to patron the ONE in Tampa and the ONE in Orlando.
This one’s wasted enough of my time. It’s a shame you have to put your employees on the spot and explain why you’re awful at running a business.

They’re Hot, Hot, Hot!!!
It’s always fun at KK and the staff here doesn’t disappoint. It’s a smaller location but the most interesting part is that it was one time a filling station. It was saved from the bulldozer and converted to KK! There’s a large area outside for eating your doughnuts while they’re still warm and soft.
Love the KK souvenirs they sell here such as mugs, etc.

UM. $ 10 for a dozen donuts that are HALF the size the originally were. NO WAY. Too Sweet, too much money. a total RIP.

Lakeland finally gets a Krispy Kreme in 2011 and I for one am very happy we did. If you’ve never had a hot KK sugar glazed doughnut fresh off the line, then you just need to experience it. The still smoldering doughnut with the hot glaze literally melts in your mouth and as a result you may get a bit of a burn. No matter, the pain melts away with every bite.
Regarding this location, the people there are very family friendly. They allowed my kids to get dressed up in KK gear and get their own doughnut off the line! On another occasion, the cashier gave us tickets for free bowling games at the AMF next door! Both of these occurred without asking!
Limited seating inside, but plenty of shaded seating outside with large fans.
The only knock I have on them is the «HOT» sign that is on all the time; it’s a bit misleading to me. This doesn’t necessarily mean the doughnuts are fresh and hot out of the fryer. Employees run already made doughnuts under the sugar glazing curtain when you order. This heats it up some, but the experience is nowhere near the same as truly fresh and hot. I understand why they do this as it is impossible to make fresh doughnuts for every customer, but the HOT sign used to be on only when a fresh hot batch was ready. It used to be fun trying to catch the sign on and then make the bee line into the parking lot. Kind of a Pavlovian reaction I’d say.
Great when hot, Ok when not. This goes for any Krispy Kreme.

It was a full moon tonight and the wolves were howling, «Go get a Krispy Kreme!!» so I did. Thank goodness, the lines have gone and the novelty of Lakeland’s first Krispy Kreme stand alone store has worn off! They are still open 24 hours on the weekends but close at 11 pm during the week. They have a nice drive-​thru so you don’t even need to walk off the donut calories to order one. They do have an outdoor café section if you want to hang and be tempted to go back for more.
I wondered what all the fuss is about and learned that KK serves them warm from the oven. So I ordered one glazed original up. Warm was definitely yum and melty in your mouth, a nice treat. I didn’t like the part where the glaze dribbled on my chin and hardened like Elmers, refusing to rub off. I didn’t like the part where a single donut is 99cents (at Hole in One, they’re 65c). And they are half the size of Dunkin or Hole’s glazed donuts. I also didn’t like that they didn’t have jelly donuts in granular sugar. I didn’t like the heavy clerk sneezing and then fishing a donut out for a customer and then messing with her hair.
This would really be a 2-​star review, but the warm & melty counts for a little something extra!
