History

Established in 1981.

After spending a decade in the construction & HVAC industry and a term of service in the United States Air Force; Chuck Thorpe founded Thorpe Heating & Cooling in September of 1981. A native & lifelong resident of Lakeland with a keen eye for detail & a sincere love of serving others it was only natural that the business began to grow. A hiccup in the company’s history came a few years later when much like today, the economy was in a slump. Several larger clients fell on hard times & failed to pay for 10’s of thousands in services rendered. We didn’t get paid but still owed for the services & supplies we used to do the work. With doubt from the, lots of prayer and many months of hard work, all these debts were paid instead of choosing to just fold up & walk away leaving others holding the bag. The company was founded on Biblical principles & committed to do the right thing, even when it hurts. Many years later, these principles are still in use & our clients love us more than ever

I have worked at Thorpe Heating and Cooling for 18 years on every level. I started in the warehouse, became an installater, worked as installtion department coordinator, then maintenance technician, then service technician, comfort advisor, service manager, and now general manager. I have been an NCI certified airflow and comfort specialist for 13 years
