Not only will we eradicate the lice, we will also educate you on what head lice are, facts and myths about head lice, symptoms of a lice infestation, how to prevent lice re-​infestation, and aftercare prevention. We used Bug Adieu almost exactly a year ago and it wasn’t until a friend asked for a referral that I realized I had never written a review. Sonia was amazing! Very knowledgable and calm at a time when you are feeling anything but calm. She came to our house within hours of our call. She checked everyone in our household. Luckily only my daughter had been affected and she was completely clear after just one treatment. She followed up a few days later to make sure all was still good and because of the thorough job she did we have not had a problem since then.

It was very stressful trying to deal with the dreaded lice problems for the first time… especially with 4 y/​o twins! Although we tried everything; chemical treatment, drenching our hairs with various oils, yanking our hairs out with a lice comb, burning our scalps with a hot hair dryer and staring at each other’s heads until we were getting headaches, i just couldn’t trust we got every little critter. We didn’t have an infestation but i had become obsessed. So we called Bug Adieu. Sonia answered the phone right away on a holiday afternoon and had Trish at our door within a couple of hours. Trish checked all 4 of us thoroughly in just a little over an hour and gave us very helpful tips. She was so kind and nice that one of my twins asked to have her come back :) A week later, we are still bug-​free and hopefully will remain so. It wasn’t cheap, but sure was worth every penny!

My teenage daughter some how managed to get lice. We called Bug Adieu after 6 pm and the owner was able to reach Netta and send her over to our home. Netta was fantastic! She was personable, excellent with her work, and did such a great job. It’s been more than a month and my daughter’s lice free! Can’t recommend this company enough.

Absolutely a lifesaver. We’ve been dealing with lice reinfestations. My daughter has thin hair and none of the OTC lice combs were working. I was getting desperate and started doing google searches. We used Bug Adieu last year when my 2 ½ year old got lice. I was so stressed and intimidated by the process. On the second day of treating it, I decided to call Bug Adieu. It was the best $ I ever spent. Sonia was so kind, thorough, and informative. I bought her products, which are natural and awesome. We use the repellent regularly and it smells delicious. The best part about the service is understanding the myths around lice treatment and the confidence she gives you for future lice treatment. I’m not afraid anymore, and recommend her to anyone and everyone!

The night before leaving for a family reunion in CA, I found out my 2 sons had lice. 3 adults spent 5 hours treating the boys heads with over the counter products. It was exhausting and stressful. The next morning, 2 hours after we landed in CA, Sonia met us where we were staying and confirmed that even after the hours we spent treating the lice both boys still had it. And I did too! I was afraid that our first day with family in San Diego was going to be wasted on getting treated. But Sonia was fast, efficient, and effective. In less than 90 minutes she had treated all of us. Her products were natural and she was very informative. Her prices were very affordable. She saved us hours of agony and stress. And it was so convenient having her come to our residence after a long day of travel. A few days after we returned to Boston, I visited another nit picker for reassurance that we were still lice free. And we were. The nit picker in Boston told me it would have taken her 3 hours to do my hair (I have long thick hair) but Sonia did it in 45 minutes and got all of it. I definitely suggest you call Sonia if you are faced with lice. I wish she would relocate to Boston!

Don’t even question it or visit any other reviews– call Sonia. It’s the best money you will ever spend and best of all– you will have peace of mind and feel cared for even before you see Sonia or Shayla.
I found Sonia online a couple days after I found lice on my daughter. I was totally freaked out and found so much information online and had so many recommendations from friends that I really wasn’t sure what to do. Not to mention it was really hard for me to sleep– constantly thinking about creepy crawly bugs.
I called Sonia at 9:00 at night– on a Sunday– and she answered! She is so nice– I mean, really really nice. She took a lot of time to listen to me and educate me so I felt more comfortable with what I was facing. Sonia’s assistant Shayla was able to be at my house the next morning working her magic. Shayla is incredible. Super nice, very friendly, great with my kids and husband– didn’t seem to mind the dog trying to get in on the action… and she answered all of my questions. In an hour and a half, the whole family was checked and those with lice and nits no longer had them. I was instructed on how to deal with cleaning my house in a way that was totally doable and not overwhelming. Products are great. Prices are great– very reasonable for this service.

My daughter suffered a terrible lice infestation which required prescription medication (treated her with Sklice, didn’t smell bad, and was very effective). I treated the rest of the family with over-​the-​counter Rid and regretted it. The shampoo was so horribly chemically smelling that I may as well have taken toxic pesticide and sprayed my family with it. A week later we all had nits (eggs) and I found a louse on my son, but I could not bear to follow Rid’s directions and expose my family again.
Enter Bug Adieu. Sonia came to our rescue. I called her on a 3-​day Memorial weekend holiday and like a knight-​in-​shining-​armor she arrived on our doorstep a few hours later that Saturday! Here are the pros:

The only con — which bears no reflection on Bug Adieu’s services — is that the service is costly. However, given the manual labor involved and the pro’s listed above it is worth the price and peace of mind. Fees are also comparable to other vendors.
By the time she was done, I felt armed with enough information and tools to successfully battle another infestation. I purchased her $ 50 kit (she offered this but did not obligate or push me to buy it) which included a quality comb, treatment and prevention sprays… honestly, I will likely end up calling Sonia again. You can’t go wrong with Bug Adieu.

Sonia was amazing. If you have a child with lice she is the best solution. My 13 year old sister came to visit for her spring break and brought some lice with her. Being a male with short hair I have never really had to deal with lice. I panicked and ran to the local drugstore in search of the cure all, only to be met with a lot of confusion. I purchased several products and began my attempt at a home treatment. About 2 hours into combing I realized that I was not going to be able to do this very efficiently. So I began the Google quest for a better solution. I called several salons and just didn’t get that warm fuzzy; however, after speaking with Sonia at bug adieu and knowing that this could all be solved within the comfort of my own home and with everyone being checked I was ready to give it a shot. Thankfully my sister was the only one affected by the bugs and Sonia made quick work of my sister’s very long hair. It helped put my wife’s mind at ease and allowed for us to just enjoy the rest of our evening. Thank you bug adieu and thank you personally Sonia. You offer a great service with honest results, and the cost is very reasonable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend bug adieu to friends or family.

We called Sonya after find nits and lice in my 14 year old daughter’svery thick, very long hair — a traumatic experience as a mom who has never dealt with Lice before. We first called a salon in La Jolla, who never called us back. Turning to Unilocal,I found Bug Adiee and Sonya. Within hours, she was at our house and checked my daughter, treated her, and then checked the rest of the family, who thankfully didn’t have lice. She coached is through what we needed to do to rid the house of any potential remaining bugs, and was reassuring throughout. She was back a week later for a re-​check for all of us, and we were lice free. I would highly recommend her — I hope I don’t ever need this type of servce again, but if I do she will be my first call.

I called Sonia from Bug Adieu this morning after discovering head lice on my long-​haired granddaughter and her equally long-​haired friend. Sonia arrived on her proverbial white horse by 3 p.m. this afternoon and worked on the girls for almost three hours. Dealing with their hair would have taken me ten hours, lots of swearing, and tons of tears, plus I would have missed half of the damn critters.
Sonia was charming, patient, very informative, reassuring, and extremely thorough. She turned our trauma up on its head and gave us back a sense of safety and control.

Sonia came to the rescue! My 10 year old daughter has VERY curly, long hair and I almost cried when I found out she had lice! ICK! I had so much fear about having to cut her hair, etc. I knew this job needed a professional! Sonia was very kind and got here very quickly. I called around 11am, and she was here later that afternoon. She gave very helpful instructions on what do before she even got here. Her knowledge, experience, and gentleness with my daughter made her worth every penny spent. I hope to NEVER have to deal with lice again, but I wouldn’t hesitate calling Sonia again if needed.

Oh boy… LICE. It’s feels just as filthy saying the word as it does discovering it on myself and 3 of my children. I knew we had been exposed to lice after our neighbor had a pool party and found it on her son so I check my children the next day and all seemed fine. Well, fast forward to a month later and I notice 2 of my kids were itching and scratching their hair quite regularly so I checked again and sure enough… infested. I panicked, I cried, I got mad, I felt guilty and then immediately started researching treatments and came up with a plan for vacuuming/​washing/​drying/​cleaning everything we had been in contact for the last month. I used a few different products which worked well at getting the live louse but I did not realize the need to consistently use the nit brush for a few days to ensure they are gone so my daughter ended up having more hatch which was my last straw so I called Bug Adieu on a referral from my neighbor and I have never spent money that I was so happy to give away. Shala was helpful, comforting, professional, knowledgable, confident. She educated us on all the effective ways to make sure the bugs don’t return to our house in the future. We are still waiting for the follow up appointment but have been brushing out daily per her instructions. In the long run, just spend the money for professional help as the products I spent money on that ended up not working were easily $ 100 anyway. I will admit that I was alarmed to learn that their «follow up» appointment actually costs the same as the initial appointment, I somehow felt the follow up was a service they provided with the initial $ 90/​hour visit… I was shocked when we were asked to shell out another $ 160 on top of the $ 200 we had initially paid. It was weird since we were just being checked over, no treated. In the end, I would probably use them again but maybe just skip the follow up and check closely myself. :)

She helped me last year and (unfortunately) this year! Sonia REhumanizes the entire process and her concern is communicated throughout each contact — EVERY contact — from start to finish. In June, I learned that she has 13 years of experience and it truly shows. She’s honest, fair and obviously customer service is her top priority. I tried a different company last year before Sonia came out to my place; that experience was like comparing night to day! If I ever need the service again, God forbid, hands down, she takes the cake.

Having lice was such a frustrating experience, but Sonia gave advice over the phone and came to our house at a moment’s notice, when I called her for help. She went above and beyond for our family. Where do I begin… When you realize that your child has lice it is literally the worst feeling… was she dirty? How did she get this? And all of the people I have to tell that were in contact with her… Dreadful! I got the BIGGEST relief when I discovered Sonia! I cannot tell you how she put me at ease and explained that lice actually like clean hair :) I called on a Wednesday in the evening and she was there Thursday early morning. She found 20+ eggs in my hair too! I was freaking out. While she was working on my 2.5 year old daughter I was able to do all the cleaning that she instructed me to do. She came back a few days later to do a look-​through and we got the clean bill of health. I was scratching my scalp not because it had lice but because mentally I was convinced I had more ;) That is just the problem with lice. I cannot tell you how relieved I was when we were given the news that we were lice free. I have recommended Sonia to many others including my sister and neighbor (she got it from my daughter! :((She is so gentle and even if you don’t have lice, boy does it feel good! Sonia and her colleague, Shala, are terrific. I was completely overwhelmed when I discovered my kids were infested with lice (though apparently it is a parenting rite of passage), but it was when I learned that I was also hosting some creepy crawlies that I really panicked! Sonia made sure to send Shala at our earliest convenience, and gave me terrific advice over the phone so that I could begin tackling the problem immediately. Their approach is pragmatic, professional, yet very personal and kind. My two little girls (aged 4 and 7) really enjoyed their company during the long comb-​out process. I should also mention that my younger daughter has very long and curly hair (as do I); Shala was extremely gentle with her. Another bonus is that their products smell minty and terrific, nothing like the toxic shampoos used when I was a kid. And while their services will set you back some $, they are very reasonably priced as far as this industry goes, and I love that they make house calls so that you can wash your sheets while they work! Also, since they don’t just de-​louse you but actually educate you on prevention and how to de-​louse your kids yourself, you can consider the expense and investment in a lice-​free future.
