Lakeside, CA
Because I own a car that no longer has that new-​car smell, the California DMV has determined that I have to have it smog-​checked every 2 years.
It’s an 8-​year old Honda Civic, for cryin’ out loud.
Anyway, Jose runs this little smog check station on the corner of Woodside and Winter Gardens. It’s clean, relatively quiet, and fast. And if you come at the right time, you can slip next door to the Lakeside BBQ (the other half of the converted gas station) and pick up a BBQ sandwich and be back in time to pick up your car.
If you live in the area, you can’t beat it for convenience.
