What kind of taco shop charges you for salsa?¿ I spend almost 10 bucks on a burrito and they only gave me 2 very little cups of salsa. Asked if I could have 2 more and the lady says I have to pay .25 each cup. The price of the salsa isn’t the problem. The problem is that I spent 10 dam dollars for my burrito and shouldn’t have to to pay extra for something all taco shops give out out for free. Won’t go back based of principal. Besides that, the food wasn’t very good. Burrito was taco bell size and lacked flavor. Much better places to go around lakeside.

I have been coming to this place for the past 2 weeks, surf and turf burrito and big daddy burrito are awesome. Definitely worth the extra couple minute drive for a good taco shop.

I order the Big Daddy Burrito 3 star’s, I wish they would add more carne asada and less fries, meat was kind of dry but very tasty I like the fact that they don’t put too much salt. I also order Chicken street tacos Meet was very dry, not the real Mexican guacamole, So this order gets only 2 star’s Service was fast.

Still trying to find a positive about this place. I am on a mission to try all of the taco shops I can to see who reigns supreme and this is at the opposite end of the spectrum. They gave my wife and I potato rolled tacos, we ordered beef. They were horrible. Our Carne asada burrito was tiny and resembled a taco bell burrito. No guacamole and tasteless. Left us hungry and still craving actual Mexican food. There are many better options in Lakeside. Unless you like dissapointment stay away.

oooooo snap! I was selling some stuff on craigslist in el cajon and passed by this place. they had some huge banners of food close ups so i busted a bitch at the light and came back. I ordered the HUUUUUGE big daddy burrito. Its as big as my arm and put me in a food comma shortly after. The meat was seasoned well and the fries were crispy. there no way a regular human being can finish one of those –but this skinny guy right here did! Since then ive gone back many times for their philly cheese steak with fries and carne asada quesadilla! I always order ride and beans on the side. they have alot of things on the menu that other places dont like potato rolled tacos. they will make anything you want and just charge you accordingly. I dont always go out to east county but when I do; I stop by here to eat. would be nice if they had a big screen tv there; I was way too comfortable in the seat after eating that big daddy burrito. I didnt want to leave…

Surf and Turf burrito and fries are delicious! Salsa verde is on the spicier sides and would rank in my top 5! It’s hard to find decent green salsa at mexican food shops these days but La Paradas definitely got the formula right. They have great deals and authentic taste. I would definitely recommend this«hole in a wall» place to anyone looking for great taste at affordable prices. Mmm mm good!

I had a hankering for some beef tacos and my Unilocal search led me here. Apparently, it is well liked amongst the locals, and my experience was pretty good, but with some areas of improvement. So, I ordered a pair of beef tacos and a side of guacamole( ). The beef tacos were alright, I was a little disappointed that they did not use Cotija cheese, as traditional shredded beef tacos go, but I went ahead with the grated cheddar and Monterrey Jack( ). The shredded beef inside was tender and juicy but was a little on the bland side( ). The addition of the guacamole was nice, and I found the guacamole to be rather interesting given its water texture. It more of the type you slather onto T.J. mini tacos and such. It tasted okay, could of used some salt, but it had a good fresh avocado flavor( ). The tortillas were good and had a mild corn flavor but a nice crunchiness. The place is small with about four benches inside( ). It was clean when I came, and you order at the counter and pick it there when it’s ready. The lady was nice but with a direct approach and not much small talk.

Value for your money here is great! This is the perfect place to stop when you want a quick fix for your taco shop cravings. I am a big fan of their Carne Asada Burritos but whatever you happen to get, make sure you try their hot sauce. It’s the best hot sauce I’ve had from any taco shop around!

The prices are awesome. The TJ tacos and fish tacos are a good bang for your buck. The steak and shrimp is my favorite. The carnitas are good most if the time and the California burrito is San Diego’s best. No meat is cooked in advance, and they have specialty dishes, like fried ham and potato. They also have amazing rolled tacos with meat on top… so good!!!

This place doesn’t look too exciting. I drive by it all the time and never noticed it. I only stopped because I was in a hurry and craving Mexican food and didn’t want to drive out of the way to my usual place. It definitely has the feel of Mexico; with pink stucco, a couple scattered patio tables that look like an after thought and a dirty feel to the place. If I wasn’t so hungry I would have cancelled my order and drove on, but I persevered. The food was actually okay, authentic even. But wasn’t good enough for me to get my rating any higher.

The WORST taco shop I have every been too! The girl taking my order had the personality of a wet mop. The rolled tacos I ate were horrible along with what they call hot sauce. I order a drink and asked for cup with ice and I got the death stare. This place doesnt even look like a food establishment when you walk in. This place will never see my business again.

I LOVE La Parada Taco Shop. I used to live right down the street and came here one day because I was really craving mexican food and didn’t want to go far. I was a little sketched out at first because from the outside it is a little sketch looking and their«drive through» is a little comical. Also, its right next to the Coo Coo Club which is one of Lakesides«finest» bars(insert sarcasam) haha. But man oh man their food is delicious!!! Everything I have ever had here has been delicious and cheap! The breakfast burritos don’t come with cheese, you have to ask for it and i think its 50 cents more, which I think is a little strange… but hey doesn’t bother me! I highly recommend their pollo asada taco salad! SOODELICIOUS! I have never had a complaint about anything that I have ordered here. Also, I love the owners!!! They are sooooo nice! I became one of their regulars and would always chat it up with them. I hadn’t been there in almost 2 years and when I moved back to the location I stopped in for some food and they were so happy to see me again. I loved that they remembered who i was! Makes me feel special. And hey, not everyone has the best experience when they go somewhere. I’m sure I have gone somewhere and had a horrible experience while other people rave about the place. I hope that Brett’s experience was a one time fluke. I have certainly never found anything besides food in my food!

Where do I start? The girl at the counter acted like I was bothering her, they charge $.25 for two extra hot sauces, and the food is terrible. Not only was it one of the worst carne asada burritos I’ve ever had, it had a rubber band inside! I wish I could give this place a zero.

There’s something very cool about this place. It reminds me of the taco shacks along the strip in San Felipe. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. You place your order to a smiling face through a hole in the wall. The bathroom is very clean, the prices are cheap, and the fish and shrimp tacos are outstanding.
