We just finished having our pool installed with Texas Pools and Patios! Taylor was Amazing to work it. He was on-​site with me everyday ensuring our project was going great! This was very important to me as they were tying into our Brand New Home!!! Which was still under construction. If you want to work with a Pool Company who will do it your way… Look No Further! And Definitely Ask for Taylor! I would build another pool with him any day!

First things first: building a pool is never easy and can be very stressful.
The reason for the 5 stars is the foreman Robert. We had a tricky build and it took almost a year to complete. Robert was always available and always returned my calls.
Pool was finished as designed and we are very happy with the outcome.
Fast forward 2 ½ years and Robert still calls to check on my pool. Excellent customer service!

Texas Pools & Patio recently built my pool, spa and fire pit. I just can’t say enough nice things about Danielle the designer and sales person I dealt with. She had very good advice and followed through to help me get exactly what I wanted.
Robert was the pool builder and he has been so easy to work with. He always answers my calls or calls me right back. He has sent very polite and professional people to my house to do all the work that must be done. He has seen to it that all works well and that I am pleased with their work.
Taylor has been to my house to clean the filters and to deliver a new bag for my vacuum and he has done a great job also.
Building a pool is a big project but having these people do it made everything go smoothly and exactly the way I wanted. The finished pool, spa and fire pit are so nice. I would recommend this company and especially the people that I worked with. They always make me feel like I am the only pool person they are dealing with. I appreciate their continued service.

We recently finished our custom resort style pool with Texas Pools & Patio. I never write reviews and am taking the time as this was a HUGE purchase for my wife and I. First off I interviewed nearly every pool builder in Austin, my vision was very simple, trying to mirror the St. Cecilia Boutique Hotel here in Austin. Every OTHER pool builder we met with wanted to add on all kinds of slides, waterfalls and crap we were not interested in. Our vision was a simple, clean, rectangle style pool with low frills.
The reason we selected TX Pools & Patio was based SOLELY on Danielle… she absolutely rocks! From the time we met we knew instantly this was going to be a good fit. She was awesome, not pushy but gave very appropriate advice when needed. We literally built the lowest budget pool possible with many competitors not interested in doing something without all the bells and whistles. What we ended up with was an AWESOME backyard resort… pics attached.
On to the build process, Bryan was also rock solid… I believe his first pool build with the company and took the time to make sure everything was done right. We began the build during the huge flood here in Austin… we were very nervous but it went flawless. From start to finish even with the flood we were complete in ~45 days… insane…and I have been swimming everyday since.
**** Do not hesitate and I would highly recommend and use them again… in fact have referred them to many neighbors/​friends. Danielle and Bryan deserve high marks in our book.

I typically don’t take the time to write reviews but our experience with Texas Pools & Patios was so bad I want to warn others who are considering using them for a residential pool. I don’t want to bore you with details but all phases of the project (design, build, support) were riddled with mistakes and missed commitments. We are now left with a leaky pool that is different than the approved design and whose patio has sunk enough to pull away from the pool shell. Pool is about 2 years old and TP&P refuses to make it right…

We recently finished our custom pool with Texas Pools and Patios and had a great experience from start to finish. Our sales and design rep, Danielle, came up with the exact design we were hoping for and was very thorough, and up front, about all expenses and the construction process itself which is obviously very involved. She thought of a million things that had never occurred to us and was a real help with deciding exactly what we wanted, and could, do and to understand what to expect.
Our pool builder, Robert, was professional and attentive and always available with updates and schedule information. He was willing to listen to our concerns and never made excuses, was accommodating and very pleasant to work with.
Even with the historic rain and flooding that we had early this summer (which they worked right through) and some delay on the final concrete due to a backlog of concrete orders in the city, Texas Pools and Patios still finished our pool on time.
They also have been more than willing to follow up with issues after the build including a lesson on all equipment and how to maintain the pool.
We couldn’t be happier with the end result and would recommend them to anyone interested in building a pool.

Don’t use these people! I’ve never seen such an unprofessional company. It took 3 weeks for Gabriel to come out and take measurements. Then I get two emails with excuses on why he hasn’t sent me any 3D drawings (big project, car problems, finalizing deal). I don’t care about that. Today he sent me an email with the drawing and details in writing about what he did and by the way it’s been another 4 weeks. ITS THE WRONG HOME, WRONG DESIGN. I’m done with them.

We have been dealing with Texas pools and patios now for about two years designing, planning, and creating a wonderful oasis for our backyard until today. Over two years ago we were introduced to sales person Mack, he was very attentive and creative with the ideas that I had for our backyard pool and spa. I had lots of ideas and had shared those via Pinterest, email, and in person with him. I had showed him spa equipment that I wanted specifically for our Hydrotherapy spa. Making him aware of the equipment, the installation, and even giving him the contact information for the company in Germany. He had all of this information prior to signing a contract back in May of this year. We were told prior to signing the contract that they were a custom builder and had no problems dealing with the specialized equipment that we wanted to put in our spa or even working with other contractors that we wanted to have do our decking and overhang extension on our home. Mack was very attentive to our needs and sold us on Tpp up until we signed the contract. After we signed, it seemed as if communication had stopped, and permits were not submitted for over a month. They expected me to come up with engineering drawings for the hoa and the county and I had to hire an engineer friend to communicate with them to get hand made drawings of an elevation plan. When they were submitted, it was because I had to call to find out when they submitted them which they never had. When I contacted Travis County in regards to our permit status I had found out that they never paid for our permits! A $ 60 fee was never paid! To me that was a huge red flag to not pay $ 60 to process your permit for a job that they should have submitted back in May. I notified Brandy at Texas pools and patios that the reason the permits are not being approved was because they never paid for the permit. I told her that she needed to pay for the permit, she told me that the permit would be paid that day. Little did I know that they didn’t pay for them for three more weeks! Therefore, TPP greatly delayed my project from being approved. When we got the approvals back we were very excited not knowing at the time TPP was the sole reason for the delay. they then set up an appointment to have Kevin the builder come out to spray paint our pool on our homesite and to go over our pool plans. it seemed as if Kevin had no desire to work with us, was completely over his head in regards to building our pool. Mack told us that the equipment would be warranted under them for installation and that they would work with my existing contractor to help build the pool decking and the extension.
The next day We got a text message from Mack telling us that he needed to have a quick meeting with us the next morning and that the owner has had issues. when we met with Mack he told to us that the owner was refusing to warrant the equipment and that it was going to be our responsibility to find someone to install it. Obviously they were way over their heads, they even stated that the faux infinity edge that was the creation from Mack into our plan was also going to be an issue for them and they wanted to remove it or put a «gutter» attached to our pool to catch the water. What! There was no indication of ANY issues prior to signing the contract.
They made it perfectly clear that they were a company that was custom pool company and knew how to deal with custom customers and could satisfy our needs and pool desires.
Who I find at fault for these issues is with Mack, he helped create the pool, he had known about the engineering and the issues relating to the spa equipment, he had told me to purchase for my spa, as well as not following up after the contract, nor following up on permits.
I find Brandy at fault in the office for not paying for our permits and more than anything I find the owner at fault for the whole thing. For being ignorant of what their employees are doing, the fact that they let their employees not pay their bills, allow for them to create pools and dreams for people, take their money, and then tell them that they can’t build it.
TPP scammed me not only of my time, but now additional monies as we now have to hire another company to do what should’ve been done by them. We were lucky enough to have canceled our check, But when you’re investing hundreds of thousands of dollars you expect to have service and competent people knowing what they’re doing. TPP will woo you and be your best friend prior to you signing the contract but after that don’t expect much, don’t expect them to file your permit, pay for your permits, or even to build a pool so if that tells you anything about TPP I don’t know what else will.
I’m thankful that I didn’t have them build it at this point as their lack of communication, and knowledge I wouldn’t want them to build a pond let alone a pool at this point. Don’t trust them.

We recently had a pool and spa built by Texas Pools & Patio, and are extremely happy with the results. From start to finish the process was excellent. Our sales representative, Rick, was outstanding in terms of answering questions, coming up with creative designs, etc. Out of the various pool builders we spoke with over a 3 month vetting process, Rick was easily the most knowledgeable and polite Sales Rep we dealt with.
The construction process was also very positive. Robert, the Superintendent for Texas Pools & Patio was a pleasure to work with and kept his construction teams on target with speed and quality. Our pool was completed in roughly 8 weeks.
In summary, I would highly recommend using Texas Pools & Patio for your project.

I called over 2 weeks ago to set up an appointment for an estimate for a pool & patio. I was told Rick would call me back that day. Never received a call. I have tried to call the main number & it just rings & goes to voicemail. Awful customer service. We won’t be building anthing with this company!

Our pool was done in late March early April. They still had backfill and some paint touch ups to do. I realize with all of the rain it has put them behind but every attempt to find out when it will be done have been ignored. Apologies have been made and the backfill completed. In fact they gave us more backfill than I expected.

Building a pool is no small endeavor, no matter how simple you think your plan is! We chose TX Pools & Patios because they have a good reputation in our neighborhood and they were very considerate about our objectives and had good suggestions for our design ideas and plans. Kevin De Los Santos was our foreman, and he always responded to my texts and questions right away. If anything was not going according to plan, he took care of it! Kevin was great to work with and my family LOVES the final product.

After interviewing about 14 pool companies in Austin my husband and I decided to use Texas pools and patios. I was very nervous about putting in a pool so I shared all my concerns with Mack our salesman. He had the foreman Kevin De Los Santos come out and meet with us before we signed the contract. I was very impressed how much time they spent with us. Our pool was going to be a challenge for any company as we put it on top of a 11 foot retaining wall. After speaking with Kevin and all his experience I felt confident that they would be a great fit for us. Everyone was so professional and I felt very comfortable having the workers at my house around the clock. The workers cleaned up after every day they worked. Whenever I had any concern I could text or call Kevin and he would respond to me Right away. This made me feel very confident to have Kevin stop by almost every morning to check on progress and simply ask did I have any concerns or questions. Our pool was finished very fast I feel like, we did have good weather on our side as well. Our pool looks amazing and I can’t thank Texas pools and Patio enough for all the wonderful memories we are making. I would highly recommend Texas Pool and Patio to anyone thinking about getting a pool!!!
I would just like to add after one year of having our pool we are still happy with Texas pool and Patio. We had a small repair and everyone was on top of it to help us fix it. Mack and Rick are awesome salesman and we highly recommend them!

We shopped around with a few other pool companies and Danielle is the #1 reason we went with TPP. Everyone else sent out cheesy salesmen who didn’t seem to know anything about design.
Our house is in central Austin and we didn’t want the usual suburban style pool. Danielle’s background in landscape-​architecture was a huge help in making sure we got the minimalist, modern pool we wanted.
PROS: wonderful design, TPP was the only company willing to build us a «small» pool, finished the build faster than expected (tip: break ground in January/​February when they’re less busy)
CONS: the ball was dropped on a design element that was pretty important to us. Long story, but it was literally set in stone and couldn’t be fixed. Not the end of the world but disappointing because it happened in the last 24 hours of what had been weeks of a really smooth process. (tip: make sure you’re communicating your wishes clearly with not just the pool designer, but whoever is actually on-​site managing)
Overall, we’d use TPP again and have recommended them to our friends considering a pool. Definitely worth it!

Called in for a quote. Referred to salesperson who called while i was driving. I aske him to text me the appt time etc and he did not. I called to cancel appt because its not a good sign when the first interaction is bad and Brandi could not be bothered.

Review Highlight: Overall, I felt that TP&P listened to what I wanted, helped me to arrive at a final vision, offered competitive pricing, performed great work and is now taking good care of me in the post-​sales phase. This is not something you’ll find in many fly-​by-​night pool companies. If possible, and to replicate my experience, you’ll need to request Danielle and Robert. They work very well together.
The first step was to solicit bids: I contacted Demeo Custom Pools, Cody Pools, Oasis, and TP&P.
Demeo Custom Pools was a good front-​runner but after receiving the 3d renderings from the others, my wife required them. Sorry, Jim!
Cody was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, a tad bit too busy (in December, too?), and very costly.
Oasis was a joke, the rendering actually looked like a giant dog bone (free form? really?) and the salesman was impossible to contact.
TP&P was great from the start. Danielle is an educated outdoor living designer first and a salesperson second. We hit it off great.
After receiving all the bids from the companies, we examined our options and chose Texas Pools & Patios. Danielle came over multiple times to measure, photograph, and discuss. She politely made all the crazy changes we requested on the 3d drawing. She even recorded a Youtube video of a pool walkthrough and sent me the link! The hardest part was getting the grotto right. It was hard to find one on the web to show her that didn’t cost over $ 50k. I just wanted a grotto like the one she drew in the 3d drawing. I imparted that I wanted nothing more/​less and agreed on the price. I was nervous that it wouldn’t look anything like it. We agreed on a fair price for the overall build and then we began.
Robert (construction) took care of the next phase and his years/​experience of working in the industry became very apparent. He guided, instructed, checked and rechecked everything. He was here so much that I think our dog became good friends with him.
The excavation crews were polite, quiet and hard working. I didn’t hear any radio music or yelling. I even brought them waters a couple times. Good guys!
Now the hard part, the grotto. 8 tons of rock. Could Mateo build what Danielle designed? Did he know I wanted that exact thing? There could be no mistake here. He nailed it! Hat’s off to you, Mateo.
The Gunite was fun to watch but to be honest, even though they put up protective tarps over everything, I had little specks of Gunite on my windows/​house. :(
Plaster/​Pebble/​Tile was interesting as well. So white! The crews were fun to watch with little spiked boots.
The stone decking was beautiful, but again, I still have concrete/​mortar chunks on my stainless built-​in grill/​kitchen. I can’t get it off either. :(
After the pool was filled, I was scheduled for Pool School with Jason. He was very patient and accommodating of my questions. He’s available by phone and text and will continue to swing by the house until you’re satisfied. Brandy is great to work with as well. They’ve set me up with enough chemicals to last me a while and the pool is looking great a month or so after it finished.

Texas Pools & Patios is a great company with great pool designs. I couldn’t be happier to be working with such a reputable swimming pool company. The owners Jeff, Jim and Neil are great guys and always treat me right. I appreciate everything Texas Pools & Patios team.

We built a pool in 2012 and are very satisfied with the design, quality of the equipment, stonework and patio work. We chose TPP because of their excellent warranty. We built a large pool with waterfalls and chose an automatic pool cover to keep our small children safe without having to build a fence within the fence. TPP wasn’t the cheapest estimate that we obtained, but we feel that the warranty, design and excellent equipment was worth the extra cost.
The build process took longer than expected, and there were some communication gaps, but I believe this is standard operating procedure when working with subcontractors. We also had an issue with the gas subcontractor cutting our sprinkler system and breaking it, and apparently signed in the contract that if the sprinkler gets cut, the homeowner is responsible for it. Our landscaper ended up fixing it for us gratis, but if you’re looking to sign a contract, ask about this, because apparently this is common with all pool builders.
In the end, our pool looks great and we’re extremely pleased with the quality of it and the warranty has been excellent — we’ve had to test it! We also opted to pay the monthly service fee for TPP to clean and care for our pool — about $ 160/​month.
We had an issue with our waterfalls turning themselves on in January when the temperatures hit freezing… and our very expensive automatic pool cover was closed at the time. It ended up crashing in the cover and causing some damage to the tilework and coping, as well. Texas Pools agreed to consider this disaster under warranty, which I appreciate greatly. Because pool cover + waterfalls isn’t the usual combination, notifying us that we needed to turn off the fountains in winter to avoid such a disaster fell through the cracks. It was a stressful, long repair period, but I do have to say that in the end, TPP and its owner Neil Crites made good on the warranty and made the repairs to our pool and pending the repair of the cover (which is due Saturday), the pool looks good as new. Thanks, Neil!
Jason, TPP Service Manager, has been great to work with through this repair process. There have been some frustrating moments and he always keeps his cool; he is very approachable and customer-​focused. He clearly knows his stuff when it comes to pools, equipment, and taking care of customers and I appreciate his support. Thanks, Jason!

Only reason they still have two stars from me is because the pool portion of their work is done well.
Update 3: Heater circuity broke from being exposed to water (funny for an outdoor piece of equipment 3 years old), took over a month to get them to fix it (Memorial Day to past 4^th of July.)
Reply from Texas Pools and Patios claims that their attempts to bribe us to retract our BBB claim was just a misunderstanding. Bribe: «persuade (someone) to act in one’s favor, typically illegally or dishonestly, by a gift of money or other inducement.»
I stand by that word and will stand by that word, it is right here in writing and it is staying that way. Our landscaping was a debacle that I had to spend tens of thousands of dollars to fix on my own time. TP&P tried to offer us edging in exchange for retracting BBB claims. The edging should have been part of the extremely expensive landscaping we payed for in the first place. Only a very small percentage of the original landscaping is still in place, much of it was not suited for Austin or growing fast enough to fulfill our number one request of privacy.
Update 2: Service and warranty issues continue to be problematic. If you call TP&P they take a message and then rarely ever call back instead of actually scheduling a service appointment from the first call. Right now I have a broken UV filter which is under warranty for 3 years. Have not heard anything from TP&P, pool has been out of service for 3 days. Previous to that I had a burnt out bulb and needed new filters but they took 4 days to call and I had already purchased replacement parts even though my bulbs are warrantied for 3 years.
I also discovered that TP&P buried a wooden support beam to my deck and roof. I did not notice this for over 2 years and the beam has rotted. This was a careless act that undermined the structural support of my whole house.
Update 1: After filing BBB claim Texas Pools and Patios *BRIBED* us with landscape work that we should have had done in the first place (edging) if we would retract our claim. We did not retract it.

Texas Pools and Patios took 6 months to get water in my pool and I had to hound them near daily to stay on task and do things in the proper order. As of today (11 months from contract), the final inspection is still not done, the construction permit is expired, and the company has tried to wiggle out of doing some of the things we agreed to have done during the sales process. I was told several times over the phone that I would be taken care of and that the owner would make sure things were going to be followed up on. Apparently not. I gave plenty of opportunity for the company to do justice to this project before writing this review. The pool itself is great. They do good work. The process and some of the subcontracting work was poor.
Fence work: OK, highly priced. Would contract on my own instead of with pool company.
Carpentry work: VERY poor, careless work. posts not cemented in correctly, boards not secured, lines that aren’t straight.
Landscaping: Poor, overpriced and below central Texas standards. No edging, small plants that we were charged huge mark ups for.
Rock work: Good work, very messy crew that didn’t clean up the site or respect my property.
I don’t know how the other pool companies do business, but I know there was a falling off point in April of 2010 where our project became lost in priority and we felt disrespected. I didn’t feel like I could trust the company to not cut corners, I had to watch things like a hawk and I recommend anyone doing business with TPP to be equally vigilant. Had to file a BBB claim.
